H&M’s new S/S 13 Ad campaign has proven to be pretty action packed. Directed by Guy
Ritchie the new commercial showcases a stripped down David Beckham relentlessly chasing down
his robe that was snatched off by a car down. Now instead of trying to get back into the house our hero decides to sprint around the block in the
sexiest Ferris Bueller fashion imaginable. The commercial seemed to prove the point that you men out there would fail to get a bunch of your
undergarments up your bum while running a marathon.

London has a new spotlight on milliners. I’ve never been too much
of a fan on headwear (nothing more than the ocasional beanie) but I can’t deny the similarities between
the newly designed hats in the London Milliner showcase and the hats wore in the 20s and 30s. The
slanted feel was present in the modern designs and the ornate detail was reminiscent of a pre-
Depression America.

The idea is that sex sells. But what exudes sex without being blatant or
lude? The Naked palette from Urban Decay. UD has seen their franchise
grow exceptionally since it’s first reveal. The Naked palette comes in an
array of nude tones. It is forecasted that in 2013 nude will be the rage.
Shades of browns and tones of tans will be the essential makeup. Rihanna
is hopping on the bandwagon and named her new makeup ‘Nude’.
L’Oreal, Physician’s Formula, and Revlon are have joined in also. In
conclusion, “Nudeness always suggests a hint of bareness, the naked human body, conveying a subtle yet sensual
feeling.
MOOD AND TONE BY JAIME CYK
Nashville is a show based on a fading country star who is signed to open for a younger more “bubble gum” version of herself. My guess is the viewers will be very much inspired by their style of dress. These women represent the glamorous side of the south one I could see women from Tennessee and the greater area of southern culture attempting to emulate. The outfit show a range of bright colors that are often golds or silvers. The gowns often are strapless with a very body hugging figure. When not wearing dresses the women are donning curve hugging jeans and a pair of boots topped off with a brown leather jacket. This show has a very easy to wear trend that emphasizes comfort yet keeps a domination female persona.
NASHVILLE
90s are back to haunt you. Flannel: made from corded wool/ worsted
yarn. Fabrics. Velvet the flashy fabric that has everyone
and their mother begging to touch. Velvet: can be synthetic or natural, made from silk or
viscose.
Stretchy and resilient. Spandex: fibers are produced from melt extrusion, reaction
spinning, solution dry spinning, and wet spinning.
As of late, rules to fashion are being outlawed and broken with reckless abandon. Personally, I love this liberation, yet I still believe in the golden guidelines(calling them rules gives them all the more reason to be broken).
WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHAT SHOULDN’T I DO?
The Dos 1. Do overdress. To an extent. It is better
to overdressed than underdressed. 2. Do obey dresscodes. Going to a work
picnic? Leave the obscene shirts at home.
1. Stay away from sweatpants. You never know when you would need to make a first good impression. Like it or not sweatpants don’t do it in the corporate world.
2. Don’t use other cultures as trends. Don’t paint war paint on your face or use Native American headresses as a fashion statement.
THE DON’TS
Trends. Bold! Loud! Color blocking has returned
with not a pop but a band. Designer have aimed on bright bold colors to revive trend. Blazers came
in electric pinks and pencil skirts in blinding purples! This crossed over into shops that
specialized in furniture in was that crossed elegant with modern.
Domo Arigato Mr. Monochromato. Whether the colors were bold or muted being in the same section of the rainbow proved to be very in. Even in kitchenware.
Trends.
There Sheer. Here Sheer. Everything is Sheer. Sheer could not be contained to apparel. Nor could it be contained to one age group. Sheer made it’s where everywhere. Curtains seemed to welcome their translucence. Everything really is Black and White. Strips and chevron and everything in between. You can’t go wrong with this classic making a more popular stance in fashion.
Do the Polka! This print is the mischief maker of formal. Ever Playful and ever fabulous.
ZARA’S DARK WINDOWS
Zara walked the line between bazaar(as seen on the right) and the Adults Only Party line that gave a vibe on walking in on an underground party no one knew about.
These displays speak volumes to the urban crowd; to though so few that have an appreciation for something that may not completely be mainstream.
BURBERRY REMAINS FANCY YET DANCY
The lights can’t shine brighter in the show windows that present the
merchandise of the Michigan Avenue Burberry residents. The whimsical, gravity
defying gravity, golden balloons makes every day a party and it seems like you
must be elite to make the guest list.
