Re: Report on three days trip to Sabah

A fascinating school trip to Sabah had been organized successfully under Counseling

Department of the school. This three days trip starting 15th to 18th July was joined by

thirty five students from standard six students who had fruitfully achieved a flying color

result in their mid semester exam recently. The group of student had been accompanied

by three advisers; Mr.Anuar Zain, Mrs.Junainah Ahmad, and Ms.Syazwani who took the

important responsibility in students security along the trip. The objectives of this trip:

To expose students to the natural beauty and foster a love of nature

To broaden the students view and nurture the spirit of love of knowledge and

    experience

To prepare students and relaxing them mentally before they struggle up for their

    coming UPSR examination

Rewarding them for their hard work and persistence in achieving good result in

    the previous examination.

    Day I

Upon our touchdown to the Land below the Wind, we were welcomed by a tour guide

name Mr.Abu Mat Samah. He explained plenty of interesting trivia regarding the state

and their uniqueness. To our amazement, Sabah is mountainous with lush tropical rain

forests and its population of nearly two million is made up of 32 colorful ethnic

communities. We then were brought to our hotel and asked to rest early to refresh

ourselves after a tiring three hours flight.

    Day 2

Our destination today is Kinabalu National Park which located about 92 kilometers from

Kota Kinabalu. Its main feature is Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain between the

Himalayas and New Guinea. We were not intended to conquer the mount but were

happy enough to explore the natural beauty of Sabah in the serene tranquility of the

park. At night, we were brought to the Filipino Night Market to buy some souvenirs and

    gifts.

    Day 3

The last day here, we paid our visit to Tanjung Aru beach which located a mere 6 km

away from Kota Kinabalu, the Tanjung Aru beach is a tranquil stretch of sand that is

littered with casuarina trees; hence, its name (Aru is the Malay name for Casuarinas).

Here, we got the golden chances to do some activity like snorkeling and scuba diving

guided by the experienced instructor. It was a memorable moment for us and our

journey had come to the end. Our flight back was scheduled at 8 pm.

The trip had both benefited the students as well as the teachers. We hope that the trip

like this can be continuing for the next time. We also would like to thank the school

administrators for the support and financial aid contributed for the success of this trip.
