What would you think if I told you
that singing in the choir has health
benefits? A US study revealed that
people who join a choir were in better
health, used less medication, were
less lonely, and had fewer falls than
a similar group of non-singers. Creat-
ing harmony with a group of friends
is good for you! So what do you
think? You can’t sing? No problem.
There are many opportunities to
“create harmony” at FPC. The Adult
Bible Study will resume on
Wednesday, September 19, from
6:00 to 7:00 pm. For the fall we will
be meeting on the first and third
Wednesdays each month.
Our Treasure Seekers program
resumes on September 12. We are
planning to gather with our Pre-K to
6th grade kids every Wednesday that
school is in session from 3:30 to
5:00 pm. We could use your help.
You don’t have to be there every
Wednesday, but our kids will benefit
from any time you can give.
The Bell Choir is back at beginning on
Wednesday, September 12, from
6:00 to 7:00 pm. They rehearse on
the second and fourth Wednesdays
each month.
Our Property and Finance, Spiritual
Life, and Community Life Commit-
tees could benefit from your involve-
ment. These groups are what make
things work around FPC. They each
do great stuff. As we seek to bless
others the greatest blessing is always
the one we receive.
Do you want to get involved? Talk
with me. Your presence matters!
We had a lot of fun with Flat Jesus
this summer! A special thanks to
everyone who posted on Facebook or
sent pictures of their adventures with
Flat Jesus. It was fun to see the
wonderful places everyone went,
near and far! What a great reminder
that Jesus is with us everywhere and
every day.
God Bless you!

All the cool kids will be at TREASURE SEEKERS
starting Wednesday, September 12th
This afterschool program is for children Pre-K
through 6th grade and will run each Wednesday that
school is in session from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.
We enjoyed a great afternoon at the Cedar Rapids
Kernal’s game on August 26th. Our Hospitality
Committee organized a Tailgate lunch following
worship and 31 happy Kernal’s fans carpooled to
the stadium. It was a steamy afternoon but fun
was had by ALL!
