I am new to yoga, more specifically Vinyasa Yoga. I might not be able to do most of the poses. Will it still be advisable or worthwhile for me to join the workshop? Yes, in fact this is the best time for you to take the workshop since you will learn the correct alignment and the basic foundations of the practice as you are starting out. This means, you won’t develop bad habits and wrong posture that some practitioners need to unlearn. The workshop will be very beginnerfriendly. It will break down the poses, teach you the correct alignment, and show you the parts of your body that you need to engage and use. The workshop will also point out which parts of the body you need to strengthen for the poses that you are working on. It doesn’t matter if you can do the advanced poses or not, once you’ve mastered the foundation, it will be easier for you to get into those poses already. 3. Ok, but I’m afraid I won’t get through 5 hours of yoga. Although the workshop will really entail you to work on your practice, it will not be 5 hours of a purely physical yoga class. The time will be balanced between listening, watching, doing the pose, and flowing through class. Just think this will build your endurance. There will also be enough time for you to sit and observe and catch your breath if needed.

The Saturday session will center more on the basics of the Vinyasa yoga practice with more focus on alignment, proper breathing. Think learning and refinement. 2. I am new to yoga, more specifically Vinyasa Yoga. I might not be able to do most of the poses. Will it still be advisable or worthwhile for me to join the workshop?

    3. Ok, but Im afraid I wont get through 5 hours of yoga.

Although the workshop will really entail you to work on your practice, it will not be 5 hours of a purely physical yoga class. The time will be balanced between listening, watching, doing the pose, and flowing through class. Just think this will build your endurance. • 4. Ive been a long-time practitioner of Bikram Yoga, how can this Vinyasa workshop complement my practice.

This workshop, although it will teach you Vinyasa yoga, will definitely complement your Bikram practice because it will strengthen your body especially your upper body and your core. In Vinyasa Yoga, the poses are done dynamically one after the other without pausing or resting. So just imagine the endurance that youll build with this practice. In addition, there are poses in the Advance Bikram Yoga Series that are also in Vinyasa Yoga. Pio Baquiran will make sure to include some of them during the weekend to help you get into these poses with more ease and awareness.

    5. Its my first time to attend a workshop. How different is a workshop from a regular class?

In a regular Vinyasa class, the movement is continuous and flows from one pose to another. In a workshop, the teacher usually breaks down the composition of the pose. Sometimes preparatory exercises are even introduced to prepare the body part that needs to be opened or warmed up prior to the pose. A workshop usually takes longer than a class to allot enough time to learn the focus of the session.

    6. Will the heaters be turned on during the workshop?

No, the heaters will not be turned on during the workshop. We feel we will be generating enough heat on our own during the workshop so theres no need for more external sources of heat.

    7. Can I drink water during class?

Yes of course, but we just dont recommend drinking too much water especially when we are practicing inversions.

    8. Can I eat before going to class and during the break?

Yes of course. We do recommend taking light meals, just enough that you wont feel hungry and so you wont feel too full and heavy during the session.
