WORDSFROM THE EDITOR

A month ago, I learned a valuable lesson while LIVID magazine is new within the industry of publishing we are letting our voice be heard from coast to coast and across the borders of distance countries. There is nothing wrong with saying no when things do not uphold values or principles you stand for, even if that very thing could boost you into your next level. We have to learn how to step back and ask ourselves, well at what cost will I take this risk or risks? Set a standard that builds a foundation and you will thank yourself in the long run. We should never be subjected to one persons point of view on an issue rather try to view from a multitude of resources to obtain a resolution on that very thing. Whether if it is a political, fashion trend or social event. How often do you find yourself in deep thought to the point were you are day-dreaming which turns into people watching? I think we all can agree to that ques-tion as I find myself wanting to work in a cafe rather than my office so that I may people watch… Indeed it is a great past time. As we sit, listen, observe and wonder about who’s who or speculate what were they thinking when they left the house with that on… Caught up in the moment we judge one another on our differ-ences, but when we really look at that person only to realize that we have so many similarities. So often many of us feel that we are living in a fantasy that we have transformed ourselves from reality into a realm of wishful thinking. Stop and think how can we make our reality into a life that we would want to embrace every day to every hour, to every minute to every second. All things are possible, if you can dream it you can do it. Ask yourselves what do you hold value while delegating your time to complete task. A society that is consumed with these fixes, Facebook, reality tv, etc as the human connection is of the past time, meeting someone for the first time at a cafe or the will to travel to another country. Sometimes there are so many excused made for the short comings rather than figuring out what is best and how it could be achieved. Most often ones fantasies would be thought of as a taboo subject to discuss amongst friends and maybe even inappropriate in some cases. Fantasy Noir issue we wanted to focus on SEX and how it effects and shapes cultures, just mentioning the word sex in a busy cafe in NYC quite a few blank stares from those that are within hearing distance. We get catch up in the what if.. and only if I was… but we forget to think about the out come of those scenarios and how that could play out if acted upon. So lets not play the what if.. or only if I was.. and focus on the right now as we talk about the out come of unpro-tect sex leading to HIV/ AIDS and how the affects of sex does to you mentally. We focused on self awareness and improvement to be a better you in 2012, with a new year come new beginnings through the power of change. Make this year of self reflection and do something you have not done before experience life through new eyes, take that trip, try the new restaurant down the street, become active in your community or try a new hair style be free yet proactive. I hope that you enjoy our Fantasy Noir issue, filled with contributors from around the world to give you a piece of their living Identity.Breaking bearers one step at a time.
