His methods annoyed the ruling class and made them nervous. He was put on trial. Socrates was accused of misguiding the youth and of being disrespectful towards the gods. He was told to renounce his beliefs or face death. Socrates refused to give up his beliefs. He valued truth more than his life. He accepted the death sentence. Socrates spent his last days in prison. He had discussions with his friends about the life of the soul after death. He calmly drank the cup of poison. He died and became immortal. He was about 70 years old at that time. Well, I found most of my information on the internet, but I also visited the local library which has a lot of books and references.

What is one thing you learned that you didn’t know?

Well, one thing I learned that I didn’t know is that People of Greece and many other countries were inspired by his methods of reasoning and honesty. Plato carried on with his ideas after death.

Was it interesting to do this investigation?

Yes it was. The story of Socrates is very interesting. Socrates spent his last days in prison. He had discussions with his friends about the life of the soul after death. He calmly drank the cup of poison. He died and became immortal.

Ο Σωκράτης ήταν ένας μεγάλος λόγιος και δημοφιλής διδάσκαλος. Γεννήθηκε κοντά στην Αθήνα. Ήταν ένας έντιμος άνθρωπος και ήταν κατά την τυφλή πίστη σε διάφορους θεούς.

Ο Σωκράτης είχε μεγάλη αγάπη για την αλήθεια. Ζήτησε από τους ανθρώπους να μην δεχτούν τίποτα τυφλά. Ο Σωκράτης έδωσε τη ζωή του για χάρη της αλήθειας. Πίστευε στη σκέψη και συλλογισμό. Οι μέθοδοί του ενόχλησε την άρχουσα τάξη και τους έκανε νευρικούς . Είχε τεθεί σε δίκη. Ο Σωκράτης αρνήθηκε να παραιτηθεί από τις πεποιθήσεις του. Εκτιμούσε την αλήθεια περισσότερο από τη ζωή του.

Ο Σωκράτης πέρασε τις τελευταίες μέρες του στη φυλακή. Είχε συνομιλίες με τους φίλους του για τη ζωή της ψυχής μετά το θάνατο. Αυτός ήρεμα ήπιε το δηλητήριο. Πέθανε και έγινε αθάνατος. Ήταν περίπου 70 ετών. Οι άνθρωποι στην Ελλάδα και πολλές άλλες χώρες εμπνεύστηκαν από τις μεθόδους του συλλογισμού και της εντιμότητας.
