You can see statues and an entire cathedral made of the salt. The route for tourists is three point five kilometres (3.5 km), but this only covers two per cent (2%) of all the tunnels in the mine. The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France was built in eighteen eighty-nine (1889). It is three hundred and twenty-four metres (324 m) high with three floors and it’s got one thousand six hundred and sixty-five (1,665) steps. There are also lifts. People in wheelchairs can go to the second (2 nd ) floor. The tower is painted every seven years. Mount Fuji in Japan is an active volcano, but it last erupted in seventeen oh seven (1707). The diameter of the crater is five hundred metres (500 m). The first person to climb the mountain was a Japanese monk in six hundred and thirty-three (633) AD, and the first woman in eighteen sixty-seven (1867) because women couldn’t climb the mountain before then. The Guggenheim is a modern art museum in Bilbao, Spain. It opened in nineteen ninety- seven (1997). It is made of titanium, stone and glass. It looks like a fish and a boat! There are permanent exhibits outside the museum. One is a sculpture of a spider called ‘Maman’. You can stand inside the arms.
