SCHOOL HOUSE ATHLETICS

Friday 16th March

Each year we hold our ‘School House Athletics’ for Year 3 to 6 students in Term 1. This year it will be held on Friday 16th March at Landy Field Athletics Track.

In the past we have utilised the services of the SEDA College Students to assist us in running events and helping out on the day.

This year those students are not available so we are asking for parent assistance to help teach-ers make the day a great success.

Jobs range from raking sand pits, measuring throws and jumps, organisation at the finish line and tallying scores for House teams. The more the merrier, we would love to have as many vol-unteers as we can get to help out on day. You do not need to be trained in running these events, we would only put you in charge of an event if you were happy to do so.

To register your expression of interest to help out, either:

Log on to : https://goo.gl/forms/ISgvj9e0g61Usf2C3

Come in to the office and leave your details.

Drop in and see Mr Calnin or Mr Walsh.

If you could do this by Friday 2nd March, that would be fantas-tic. We are looking forward to a wonderful event this year, hope you can be part of it.

Jason Calnin.

CHICKEN POX Families are advised that there have been 3 reported cases

of Chicken Pox at school recently. These cases are across all

year levels and pregnant women and families with non-

immunised students are encouraged to be alert for symp-

toms. For further advice please contact your GP.

SUNSCREEN The wearing of sunscreen by students whilst at school is the responsibility of individual fami-lies. Due to allergies schools cannot provide one general sunscreen for all children.

For parents wishing their child/ren to wear sun-screen please note that it must either be ap-plied before leaving home or students must be taught how to apply it themselves during the day. Sunscreen must then be stored in individual school bags.

This week, students completed their individual coloured circle which contributed to the giant rainbow on display in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Here are some photos of the Art Cart called ‘MAD’. With its 4WD wheels it can go anywhere!

Throughout Term 1 and Term 2 I would appreciate if you could please start collecting for the Art Room:-

* Large colourful plastic lids

* Plastic containers (similar to the ones in the photo below)

* Balls of wool

They are going to be used for a collaborative art project once the new 3/4 building is completed.

Thankyou,

Jodie Thomson Visual Art Teacher

Student Absences If students are absent for any reason, please ensure the school is notified as soon as possible.

Preferred method is via the Skoolbag app, which is quick and efficient or both parties.

ASTHMA / ALLERGY / ANAPHYLAXIS ACTION PLANS

If you indicated on your child’s enrolment form that they experience asthma, allergic reaction or

anaphylaxis, or they have been diagnosed since then, government legislation requires you to

provide us with a current Action Plan (see examples below). For the sake of your child’s safety, please visit your medical practitioner for an up to date Action Plan and return it to the school office

as soon as possible.

asthma-action-plans

http://www.allergy.org.au/health-professionals/ascia-plans-action-and-treatment

Please ensure your child has their medication and any other device (eg. spacer) with them to

better manage their symptoms. If your medical practitioner has informed you that your child has grown out of their condition, they will need to provide a letter, on the Medical Practice letterhead,

to the school stating such.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Term 1 Week 3, 15th of February 2018

Welcome back! It's Term 1 so please remember No Hat, No Play!

Hi Families,

Well what an eventful holidays we had here at Fyans Park! The Holiday Club was very successful with our school exceeding our projected target of 323 bookings for the season, our school had a whopping 452 bookings for the season, with one day reaching an outstanding 58 bookings for just ONE day! The build-a-bear incursion and the construction zone incursion were the favourite days amongst many of the children.

I would like to remind all families of our No Hat, No Play policy, if your child, especially preps, are booked in for the afternoon session, could you please place a spare hat in their bag to ensure that they have one for OSHC, as this avoids disappointment for those children that want to go outside but can't due to having no hat. We do not supply spare hats to the children, so please ensure they have one.

If there has been ANY changes to your families circumstances over the holiday period, could you please log onto your account and make the changes ASAP. Also if your child has any medical issues could you please ensure all the action plans and medications are in date prior to your child attending OSHC. If you need any action forms please don't hesitate to come and ask for them.

We endeavour to ensure that all the information that you have provided us with in your enrolment is true and correct, if there have been any changes, address, contact phone numbers or people that you allow to pick up your children, it would be great if you could let us know ASAP. These are crucial details that we need to ensure that your child/ren's emergency contact details are up to date, if any of these changes have occurred recently, please jump online and amend the details and please also let me know so that the details I have are correct as well.

If you know that your child will NOT be attending a session they have been booked into PLEASE en-sure you give me a call to let me know, so that I am not chasing up children that are safely with their caregiver.

I encourage you all to enrol your child/ren with us in case of emergencies that are beyond your control to ensure that I have access to your child’s details if needed. To enrol your child/ren go to www.campaustralia.com.au.

Cheers & Keep Smiling
