7
What is AT&T FamilyMap? A family-focused location based application providing customers with peace of mind by allowing them to conveniently view the location of a family member’s phone from their mobile phone or PC web browser
Overview
Secure and Private
• Only authorized users have permission to locate devices on the same account
• Account Owners are notified via letter (e-mail & SMS if available too) once AT&T FamilyMap service is established, and directed to Location Privacy Settings tool in OLAM
• Phones being located will receive a semi-randomized, monthly SMS messages reminding them they can be located by AT&T FamilyMap
Target Customers
• FamilyTalk Plans – Authorized Account Owners/Users can locate up to 5 phones on a FamilyTalk account
• Parents of teens and tweens – especially parents of teen drivers. Account Owners/Users can add AT&T FamilyMap to any of their accounts they want to locate
• School Walkers – Parents can create Schedule Checks to automatically locate their kids when walking to and from school
• Exceptional Children – Parents often have children with particular needs or who may require somewhat closer supervision
• Elderly Family Members – Some elderly family members would benefit from a watchful eye due to health or general safety concerns
8
Provisioning
Feature Codes are Provisioned at Point of Sale. The line number the feature is provisioned on will be the login ID.
•AT&T FamilyMap is to be added to the line that purchases the account – Ex: If “mom” buys the account but “Dad” is the Account Owner, the product will show on “Mom’s” line. “Dad” will still be notified via the privacy notifications once “Mom” has set up the product to locate someone.
•FamilyMap can only locate phones that are on the same account; this could be FamilyTalk, a non-FamilyTalk multi-line account or even a single account. With a single account – Ex:“Mom” is on a separate account from her daughter but she pays her daughter’s bill. Mom can buy FamilyMap on her daughter’s line and essentially her daughter’s phone will track itself. What this means is:
– The Welcome SMS with the temp password will arrive on the daughter’s phone in this example
– Mom will only be able to elect to receive notifications and location alerts via e-mail
9
Getting Started
10
Registration• Once a customer signs up for AT&T FamilyMap they will receive a text message with the FamilyMap URL and
temporary passwordNote: For single/separate accounts in which he/she is the Account Owner, the feature should be added to the account they want to track.
-In this case, temporary password will be sent to device being tracked
-When setting up alerts, the Account Owner should use email notification – not SMS
• Sign-up process can begin by going to www.att.com/familymap on a PC• Customers will be given a list of the phones on their AT&T account and the user selects the phones they want to locate
(Note: User will see phones on the account the feature is added to)
• The customer will be able to personalize numbers with a name• At this point, the account is created and the customer can locate their phones
