Dies Very Suddenly

Tuesday morning at about two o'clock, Peter Bauer an old resident of Clark County and for many years a resident in the Town of Beaver, suddenly passed away.Mr. Bauer had been working all day Monday and when he went to eat his supper felt a little miserable but nothing serious was expected. At about 2 o'clockTuesday morning he became restless and while Mrs. Bauer went upstairs to call the children he suddenly passed into the great beyond. Obituary next week.

Peter Bauer was born in the Town of Herman, Dodge County, Wisconsin in the year of 1857 where he lived until the age of 17 years when he came to Hewitt, inthe town of Marshfield, with his mother. He was united in marriage in 1882 with Miss Katherine Jansen and resided at Hewitt until they came to our village in1898. In 1906 he purchased a farm in the town of Beaver where he resided until his death.

Deceased was well liked by his neighbors and acquaintances, for he was a man who always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. He was an honest andindustrious farmer, a kind husband and loving father. His memory will ever be charished by his family and numerous friends.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and twelve children who are, George Bauer, Nick Bauer, Wm. Bauer, Peter Bauer, Martin Bauer, Joe Bauer, Mrs. JohnSchuld, Mrs. Albert Roadt, Cecilia Bauer, Christina Bauer, Katherine Bauer and Angeline Bauer, also three brothers and three sisters who are, John Bauer ofEllenton, Nick Bauer at Auburndale, Johnnie Bauer at Marshfield, Mrs. Jos. Donhard at Marshfield, Mrs. Fred Korth at Marshfield and Mrs. Herman Zerier atKiel.

He was a member of the Catholic Knights in which organization he carried insurance of $1000 and uner whose auspices the funeral was held from the CatholicChurch last Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock, with burial in the Catholic cemetery. The bereaved family has the sympathy of their many friends.

The following were present at the funeral from out of town, Nick Bauer, Auburndale, Johnnie Bauer, Mrs. Jos. Donhard, Mrs. Fred Korth, Mrs. John Flasch,Mrs. Chas. Heiler, all of Marshfield, Mr. George Bauer of Ellenton, Math. and Edward Bauer of Hewitt and Joe W. Gunteer of Auburndale.

Abbotsford - Mrs. Catherine Bauer, 79, died of old age complications on Sunday, Jan. 10, and a Requiem High Mass will be read at St. Bernard's CatholicChurch, followed by burial services at Loyal. The Rev. Francis J. Brockmon will officiate.

Mrs. Bauer was born in Germany on July 5, 1863.

Surviving are 12 children, Mrs. John (Anns) Schuld, George Bauer, Nick Bauer, Will Bauer, Mrs. Albert (Eva) Bracht, Mrs. Joe (Cecelia) Charlton, Mrs. Leslie(Christina) Sook, Mrs. Elbert (Catherine) Herbert, Mrs. Ed (Angeline) Duvall, Peter Bauer, Martin Bauer, and Joseph Bauer.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Agnes Bauer, Marshfield; two brothers, Nick Jansen, Rhinelander, and John Jansen, Wausau; 49 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Two children, Agnes and James died in infancy, and her husband, Gerhard, also preceded her in death.
