The goal of 2017 Family Frenzy is to provide entertainment, foster a sense of community andpromote a healthy lifestyle through deployment of a “Fit Family” based program. The program will take place at ten Group 1 Installations. Each installation can host an optional kickoff event, followed with three mandatory events (one in July, August, and September). Think outside your “Club walls!” The “Club” does not mean the brick and mortar building. Partner with the Community Center, Outdoor Recreation, Arts and Crafts or the fitness center, to name a few. Event dates within each specified month and event times are at the discretion of the club.

There are mandatory food items* (recipes to be provided by AFSVA), event games*, and supporting materials * that must be incorporated in each event in order to receive funding. However, the majority of the event will be planned locally. Be open to your creativity, MAKE IT FUN! NOTE: For Family Frenzy events menu items must be priced for members; non-members pay additional feebased on “Members First Discount”. Event entry is free to ALL for Family Movie Sing and/or Dance Along.

*BOLD indicates items that must be included in each event

July: Family Field Day

A field day is a favorite end-of-the-school year/summer event for many. To make this event a success, plan a variety of activities that are both fun and age-appropriate. Remember that activities that are too challenging for younger attendees can cause frustration, while older kids may lose interest in ones that don’t provide enough of a challenge. To accommodate various age groups we have suggested activities that appeal to a wide range.

Field day game ideas:

o Basketball free-throws (borrow from CYP)

August: Movie Sing and/or Dance Along Suggestions

Movies can be in or outdoors depending on your location. Think outside the box! Work with the Community Center and Outdoor Recreation Center.

Any movie shown as a public viewing must have a license. Contact the local AAFES GM and go through "SWANK" for movie licensing to show movies in the club. Movies licensed for the Library must be shown in the Library. The annual cost is $350 for a license through SWANK. This license allows public performances on any movie by 95% of major motion picture studios (see attached for more information).

Funding can be used to assist with the cost we would recommend purchase of another NMPS (encrypted DVD player only) and share the movie library you have from the theater NMPS If you do not want to move the system from the theater. The player can be moved to different facilities or outside movies for events. Do you have an inflatable screen or another mobile screen, projector? If not, partner with Outdoor Recreation and/or the Community Center.

Events not held in the club can use the R4R funding--select SAPI or Deployed Affected for funding opportunities and possible funding for a portable movie screen and travelling projector.

The NMPS Point of contact information can be found on page 11 of the attached NDVD Guide.
