Promotional FOB (Fall Out Boy) have created a Band website, Twitter and Facebook accounts to involve their fans in their work. This Is to promote their upcoming music. To promote the band they film Music Videos which adds a personal view because you can see them performing. This shows their humour and taste. The fact that in ‘Thanks for the Memories’ they have monkeys acting as if they are directors shows that they have a silly humour and want to kind of mess around. Their facial expressions add their humour how they smile. This can help the audience relate to the band more and will encourage them to listen/watch the song more. In other videos they want to come across as geeky and ‘uncool’, this makes them different, therefore promotes a different angle to their music.

Extension of income The band will benefit to this by it making them money. With them having a break from their music will add anticipation and expectation to new work they do when they return. This too is a benefit. When they do return, their fan base should have extended because it will be a big deal when they come back, they will want to advertise anyway they can and get their new material out on YouTube and Music channels. Also, they will want to do a welcome back tour, this will be exciting for their audience.

Extension of outlets To find FOB’s music, you can go on the popular TV music channels such as, Kerrang and MTV, or you can go on YouTube to find any of their songs. To buy their music there online shops or HMV, or to download Thanks for the Memories, iTunes. Their band website should have this access too; this will make it easier for their fans to find.

Producers strategies It is important for a band to have a plan (strategy) This is because it will help the band and behind the scenes cast to be organised. The strategy could be to start of small and over time become a huge hit. However, most bands/artists these days jump onto the scene with a hit. This can be a worrying strategy because they are diving in at the deep end, they haven’t gone into the music industry professionally with a small fan base, and they are hoping to gain a fan base from that one song. To accomplish an audience they need to sample their music by doing small gigs, this will attracted the fan base they want/need and they can build their look/sound around them.
