“We've heard the myth that a person that is a donor will not be given proper medical attention to save their lives. We want to dispel that myth and any others that will hinder donors from signing up," shares Smith and Butler.

This event will be a day of awareness, fun, and fellowship. Attendees are encouraged to bring their picnic baskets, their family and friends. This free event will showcase great local entertainers through dance, song, music, and comedy. The artists include: Comedian C Davis, Berean Youth Ministry, The Lamar Sisters, NXN, the Cleans of Comedy, The Gift, John Kendall, Bradley Green, Chance the Artist, Saxophonist Sam Yenn-Batah, Lady Cee, Paulette Willis and SBC's Heavenly Doves Dance Ministry. Organ donors, organ recipients, and those on the waiting lists will also be honored.

Minorities make up more than 50% of people waiting for organ transplants. 1 out of every 3 African Americans have high blood pressure – a leading cause of kidney failure. On average, 18 people die daily while waiting for an organ transplant. For this reason, Tresa Smith and Aleigha Butler have partnered with the LifeLink Foundation to present “Praise With Purpose” Organ &Tissue Donation Awareness Day.

Executive Producer Tresa Smith is an author, playwright, producer, and philanthropist. She is a member of the Decatur Chapter Lupus Group (LACES). She had a heart to want to help those in need and decided to partner with LifeLink

Foundation and help bring awareness to her community. She serves as the Executive Director for a nonprofit organization.

Assistant Executive Producer Aleigha Butler is an author, event organizer, licensed insurance agent, and budget consultant. She has been a philanthropist for 8 years now raising awareness and funds for many nonprofit foundations.

Smith and Butler are true servants that wish to help bring awareness to

the plight that plagues their community. Where there is a need, they are ready for a call to action.

About LifeLink Foundation LifeLink Foundation is a non-profit community service organization dedicated to the recovery of life-saving and life-enhancing organs and tissue for transplantation therapy. For more information visit: www.lifelinkfound.org.

Church Folk Sep 8th Dinner 6:30pm, Showtime 8pm, Tickets $20 Historic Lynwood Park Church, Atlanta www.churchfolk.eventbrite.com

Church Folk: Will the Real Christians Please Stand Up? It’s easy to be holy in church but it’s what happens when you leave church that define real Christians versus the fake ones. Pastor Barnes has left the church and the money in the church renovation fund left with him, leaving the new pastor to pick up the pieces. This live comedic performance will unravel lies, stir up gossip and reveal the nature of true Christians.

Interview with Playwright Terriney Bridges

Why do you think Christians act differently outside of church? In church Christians want to please people, gain statuses or protect their positions, whatever those positions and statues may be. They want people to think highly of them as if they are

really something that they are not. This what the stage play is all about. Living a true Christian lifestyle takes spiritual growth, effort, humility and patience among other things. Instead of growing, they pretend to do all the right things in church and when they leave church they go back to what's comfortable for them and do what they are used to, which is being themselves.

What is the key lesson you want the audience to leave with from this play? For Christians to truly analyze and connect to the phoniness in themselves (if any), in hopes they will adjust their ways to line up with God's word instead of choosing random scriptures to excuse or justify their carnal behaviors and wrong doing.

The Prodigal Daughter Sep 8th at 7pm, Tickets start at $10 Christian Life Center of Atlanta, Rex www.theprodigaldaughter.info

What’s the 411? Atlanta: Christian Events

Prodigal Daughter was written by Dana L. Perry and it is an dramatic adaptation of her best selling book, “The Other Woman, Lessons Learned.” The stage play brings to life the struggles that a beautiful woman of faith experiences during her love affair with a married man. It is a heart wrenching, bone honest account of what happens when one is seduced by the desires of their flesh and fails to secure the gateway to their heart!

In this riveting production, we see a woman that struggles to find her way back to "The Father". The journey will not be easy. She has to confront her demons, her desires and her humanity in her efforts to be restored. With a baby on the way and engrossed in a forbidden love, she finds the courage to approach the Throne. Good girls fall, but they indeed get up! Interview with Playwright, Dana L. Perry What is the main reason why Christians can become involved in an affair? Simply stated, an affair is an act of disobedience. God clearly says do not fornicate, do not commit adultery along with a host of others things we are to abstain or refrain from. When we sin, we do not trust that God's way for our life is best. When we willfully sin, we have chosen to go in a direction that does not please God. People get caught up in judging sin, and often want to make adultery more serious than lying. The fact of the matter is, to God sin is all sin. Any act of disobedience displeases God. Once confession is made God is faithful and just to forgive our sins. But how does someone move on and forgive themselves of an affair? We move on by moving on. Once we repent the matter is resolved. Condemnation is not a virtue and neither is having a pity party. All things work together for the good of them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. All things. So we learn from our mistakes, allow them to evolve into a testimony and declare to anyone that will listen "Hey, I fell...but I got up. God is good!"

Elections Everyday people responses to… How well do you know the candidates running for various offices besides the Presidency and what are you doing to prepare to vote?

“Well, I normally wait until the last minute around election season to find out information about the candidates running for office. Because I chose to utilize the method of procrastination I feel rushed and uninformed at election time. Therefore, I utilize reliable resources who are always abreast of the candidates running for election.”

Tonya, Registered Nurse

“In Atlanta there are a number of elections held each year besides the Presidential Election. There are the elections for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Labor Commissioner, State Insurance Commissioner, State School Superintendent and many more local elections as well. I know these officials based on what they have done for Georgia and Atlanta as a whole. Preparing for all future elections take time and research on each candidate and I look back on their past history as leaders. I am registered to vote and each election that is what I do because people fought so that I can have the right to have a say in how my future is being run.”

What’s the 411? Atlanta: Local Elections

“After learning about the struggle to vote it is important to me because we haven’t always had the right to vote. One vote can make a difference. For me, it’s a privilege, duty and priority. With that in place I always mentally prepare to get to know the candidates and issues. I research the platform of each candidate. I make sure I understand the type of election such as open primary, close primary or general election. I confirm my voting status and make sure my voting precinct hasn’t change. I also make sure I know how to use the voting machine by visiting the election office, as the machines do change over time.

Bessie, Administrative Assistant

“We must be truthfully informed on the candidates; the offices; the issues; who they will impact and how they will be impacted. I try to carefully, prayerfully, and unselfishly give consideration to the options before me prior to casting my most important vote. It's best to watch our leaders in action well before election time.”
