Dealing with Dog AggressionDo you or someone you know have a dog

that acts aggressively toward you, your family or friends? Has your dog growled, snapped or bitten anyone? Does your dog snarl or bark in a threatening manner at home or in public? If you are having a difficult time controlling your dog and have a need for some training tips and techniques to correct bad behavior, this two hour discussion on aggression and behavior issues in dogs is just what you may need . Essential Oils for PetsDid you know therapeutic grade essential oils

Experimenting with Acrylics Let’s experiment with acrylic

paints! Acrylics can be thinned down to resemble a watercolor, or they can be painted thick like oil or just use like acrylics . We will experiment with how diverse acrylics can be . Natural Broom Making The evenings are growing colder and the

season for goblins and trick or treating is quickly approaching . Why not welcome them with an authentic, old fashioned, hand-made broom at your door step? In this class you will learn how to create the cob web or witches broom . This class will use broomcorn which is a variety of sorghum and is grown for making brooms . These brooms are useful, natural and a beautiful piece of art; you will not want to leave these brooms in the closet . Discover the timeless technique of making brooms and learn about the natural fibers used in this process. Home Made Body ScrubsBody scrubs are a great way to exfoliate and

moisturize your skin for the fall . They make great personal and affordable holiday gifts . In this hands-on class learn how different scrubs can work for your body and discover various ways to incorporate safe and natural ingredients . Quilting Classes Denim Crazy Quilt

Everyone has jeans that are ripped, torn or simply ready for the trash can . Learn how to create a denim crazy quilt with your scraps and put together a gift everyone will love . Students will learn how to create a 15” block; the second night will consist of embellishments on the block . T-Shirt QuiltMake a quilt out of those

t-shirts that are no longer being worn but have a special meaning . This is a great way to provide a keepsake for that special someone . Students are responsible for materials and must bring a working sewing machine to class . This is an intermediate level class; students must have a basic understanding of quilting to be able to complete a quilt in one day . String Quilt

No strings attached! The string quilt requires basic sewing knowledge . If you can sew a straight line, this class is for you . You will use your basic scraps and create a quilt with a pop of color everyone will envy . This is a basic to intermediate level class . You must have a working sewing machine and knowledge of how to thread it . Calling All Crafters! Join us for a weekend of completing your unfinished projects. Whether you are a scrapbook enthusiast, painter or textile artist, this weekend is for you . For the small

fee of $7 you can bring your craft projects and supplies and set up a table at 5 p .m . on Friday and work until 10 p .m . Don’t worry about packing up your stuff, it will be safe in a locked room until the campus opens again on Saturday at 8 a .m . You can keep working until 5 p .m . that afternoon . This weekend does not include meals, but feel free to bring your own snacks and meals . A refrigerator and microwave will be available along with space to plug in a crockpot . Beginning Beekeeping

Beekeeping is considered one of the most important components for agriculture . This hands-on class will introduce you to the skills needed to obtain optimum benefits for your hive. The Adult Education program includes:

� Adult Basic Education classes for adults with skills below the eighth grade, including reading, writing, math and keyboarding to gain skills needed to take the General Educational Development (GED®) test .

� English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for adults whose first language is not English.

� General Educational Development (GED®) classes for adults who haven’t completed a high school diploma or for home-schooled youth . You can earn a Nebraska high school diploma by successfully completing a series of computer-based GED® tests .

The Grand Island Adult Education office and classes recently moved to College Park rooms 100,101,102 at 3180 W. Highway 34 . Please use door number 4 .

Students must be 16 or older and not enrolled in school . A $20 registration fee is due a minimum of two weeks prior to orientation . ESL orientations are July, October, January and April . GED® testing is computer-based and official tests are taken at certified Pearson Vue testing centers . The GED® tests cost $30 per each of the four tests for a total of $120 .

30-Hour OSHA ConstructionThe OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry course

covers safety principles as well as policies, procedures and standards . Attendees will gain an understanding of the scope and application of OSHA regulations as they apply to the construction industry . assertiveness is more than just learning to talk differently . Being assertive requires thinking assertively, feeling confident and behaving positively .

Guidelines for word choices and behaviors and numerous exercises will help you change how you interact with others . 24-Hour HazmatAre your employees trained on how to respond to

a hazardous material spill or release? This three-day session is designed to satisfy the 29 CFR 1910 .120 requirements for employees engaged in emergency response, containment, control and clean up of hazardous materials released during an incident at your facility . This course is required for industries that have the potential of accidental release of hazardous chemicals .

Who should attend? This course satisfies the basic training requirements for HAZMAT Technician, Specialist and Incident Commander . This course is for Industrial Hazmat teams, and personnel wishing to be on emergency response teams .December 1-3, GI College Park, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., $400.

Customer ServiceCustomer service is intangible . We can’t poke, prod,

weigh or otherwise physically inspect customer service . Customer service deals with the human side of an organization . It is measured by the human emotions, behaviors, understandings, feelings and perceptions of the customer . Early College OpportunitiesHigh School Articulation is an alignment

of high school curriculum to Central Community College (CCC) curriculum .Articulated courses allow students to earn CCC college credit at no cost to the student if they earn an A or a B in the high school course . Over 70 schools across our area offer a variety of courses covering several career pathways; please contact your high school counselor to see which courses are available at your school .

Early College classes are offered for credit through Central Community College . These courses are offered in your building or as an online course . Students are required to meet college admissions requirements by taking the ACT, ASSET, or COMPASS test . Transferability of Early College courses is determined by the receiving institution . Central Community College transcripts can be sent to any college upon the student’s request . Check with your high school guidance counselor to see what is offered at your school .
