PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT HOW-TO Once your group has been registered for RENEW Weekend, you will receive an email with a link to send to your participants (group leaders, chaperones, and students) that needs to be filled out online. Group leaders will have access to an active document that allows them to see participant forms as they come in.

BACKGROUND CHECK AND CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY (CofL) Complete the Background Check Form and email it to [email protected] at least two weeks prior to your RENEW Weekend session. A copy is located at the back of this guide and can also be downloaded or completed digitally from gocrossings.org/campprep.

Submit your Certificate of Liability from your insurance provider at least two weeks prior to your RENEW Weekend session. You can email it to [email protected] or fax it to our office at 502-491-8001. A sample certificate is located at the back of this guide.

HOUSING INFORMATION You will receive your housing assignments four days before you arrive. Cedarmore will be using Boone Lodge and Evergreen Cabins. Jonathan Creek expects to use Gray Motel but it may change depending on presence of external retreat groups.

ARRIVAL INFO Please arrive between 5:30-6:30 pm on Friday evening. Upon arrival, you will check in to receive your keys, turn in any necessary paperwork, and receive students’ POIs.

HEALTH AND SAFETY We are committed to your safety now, as much as ever. Crossings continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely. We have implemented a new Health and Safety Plan that includes a rigorous screening program for staff and participants, more stringent cleaning measures, a thorough hand sanitation program, and more. We are working closely with our local health department officials to follow the recommendations set forth by the CDC and the Kentucky Department of Health to equip our staff and guests to minimize the spread of germs. If best practices or restrictions necessitate an adjustment to the Fall Renew program, we will let you know immediately. For more information on our Health and Safety Plan, you can visit https://gocrossings.org/health-and-safety-plan/.

SUMMER MISSIONARIES We are bringing the best and brightest college-aged staffers to love your students, share the gospel, and bring the fun.

BIBLE STUDY BOOKLETS We will not have Bible Study booklets for this event in order to help keep your cost down and to keep the event simple.

BIBLE STUDY TOPICS God will renew all things. Join us this Fall, escape the distractions of the pandemic, reset, and be refreshed by God’s word. Come to taste, see, and hope in God’s great promises to renew everything from the souls of men to the foundations of the earth. “5 And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true’” (Rev 21:5).

New Heart - Ezekiel 36:22-32; 2 Cor 3:6; 4:1-6 New Command - John 13:31-35 New Mindset - 1 Peter 1:1-9 New Creation - Isaiah 65:17ff

CHURCH GROUP STUDY In lieu of small groups, YOUR group will be leading a time of application with your group after each of the first three worship sessions. We will assign you a location and a Summer Missionary host for your group to use throughout the weekend once you arrive. You may use this time as you see fit: have fun, build relationships, apply the Bible Study, teach the gospel, etc. We will provide you with stock discussion questions and our 3 Circles Gospel teaching guide for your use. These are both attached to this Survival Guide. We will also have some easy-to-run group game explainer sheets ready for your use.

ACTIVITIES Our activities will include: Arts and Crafts, Bazooka Ball, CrossBowl, Disc Golf, Hatchet Throwing, Hiking, Minute-to-Win-It, Kayaking (JC), Laser Tag (JC), Team Building, Zip Lines (CM). You can read activity descriptions at https://gocrossings.org/find-a-camp/student-camp/#activities.

TEAM BUILDING Depending on camp size, we will offer church-group team building. Our SMS will lead your group in an activity that builds trust, leadership, and relationship.

DAILY CROSSBOWL COMPETITION Friday Night Derby, Saturday Test-Your-Wits, Sunday CrossBowl-A-Thon with Nebs Head and Kan Kan.

HOEDOWN THROWDOWN Hay bales, square dancing, Fall games, and crowd-pleasing snacks.

The participating church confirms the below regarding the adults attending camp with our group (both Group Leader and Chaperones):

1. They are well known by the Group Leader or are in recognized leadership of the participating church.

2. The registered church and Group Leader knows of no reason why any of the adults should not serve as a sponsor for youth and children under the age of 18.

The participating church also warrants that it has:

3. brought no Adult Chaperone or Group Leader not listed on this form.

4. performed a nationwide criminal background check on all Adult Chaperones and Group Leaders within the past two years.

5. taken reasonable steps to confirm that the individuals are not registered sex offenders by making inquiries to law enforcement officials or by checking www.nsopr.gov (the National Sex Offender Public Website).

• Note: If you need to perform a new background check, you may take advantage of our group discount at $9 each through https://ministryopportunities.org/KBAAppPay. Be sure to indicate your church/organization and check the box to have the background check sent to you. While you are welcome to use your own service, this particular background check is a combination criminal and sex-offender check, which fulfills #4-5 above jointly.
