Yang Fan provides a safe and nurturing environment for school age children to enhance their academic knowledge and social skills. In addition to providing daily Chinese or Spanish classes, our unique Common Core aligned programs extend beyond the regular public school learning to enhance students’ academic and social capacity.

•  GATE prep for G2/G3 in Dec-Feb

•  Common Core test prep for G2-6 in Mar-May

•  Honor Math test prep for G5 in Mar to May

Electives/Tutoring

•  Semi private group tutoring lessons (4-5 students) covering Reading, Writing, Math and Science for G1-5

Enrichment Classes

•  Art, Chess, Chinese Choir, Dance, Robotics, Science, Sports, and Piano

Yang Fan provides a variety of test preps throughout the school year without additional cost. Many elective/tutoring or enrichment classes are scheduled during school year to enrich students’ experience in a structured environment.

+ Kindergarten After School Program

•  Freshly cooked lunches from on-site kitchen •  Large indoor and outdoor play spaces for recess

Lunch and Recess (12:00-1:30 pm)

•  1.5 hour daily lesson •  Three Levels of Chinese classes offered daily: 暨南中文及Easy Chinese

•  One level of Spanish class offered daily •  One level of Hindi class offered daily

Chinese/Spanish /Hindi Class (1:30-3:00 pm)

•  Individualized Phonics Program Reader or Writer Workshop

•  Integrated Centers, including language arts, math, science, and social studies

Kindergarten Curriculum (3:30-5:30 pm)

Yan Fan provides a nurturing and engaging structured environment to teach and reinforce various skills (social, physical, and academic) to be successful in school. In addition to daily Chinese/Spanish/Hindi classes learning, we extend and enhance students’ public school learning to the next level.

+ Lower Elementary (G1-3) After School Program

Homework Assistance (3:30-4:15 pm)

•  Grade specific classrooms with credentialed teachers •  Fostering and enforcing good study habits

Chinese or Spanish or Hindi (4:20-5:05 pm)

•  Instructor led small classes (<15 students per class) •  20 levels of Chinese classes offered daily (Using ⻢马力平中文 or Easy Chinese) •  6 levels of Spanish classes offered daily

Academic Program (5:10-6:00 pm)

•  Common Core Aligned Language Art and Math Workbooks •  Individualized Accelerated Math •  Periodical Assessments to Monitor Students’ Progress

Yang Fan provides a fully structured academic curriculum, including daily Chinese/Spanish, individualized Accelerated Math and Reading, Common Core aligned weekly workbooks on language art and Math, and fun Friday activities.

+ Higher Elementary (G4-5) After School Program

Homework Assistance

(3:30-4:15 pm)

•  Grade specific classroom with credentialed teachers

•  Foster and enforce good study habits

•  Time management skills trained

Chinese/Spanish/Hindi or Academic Tutoring

(4:20-5:05 pm)

•  Standard option: Chinese/Spanish/Hindi

•  Tutoring Option: Small instructor led classes, one subject each date of the week: Math, Reading/Writing, Science and Language/Vocabulary

Academic Workbook

(5:10-6:00 pm)

•  Common Core Aligned Language Art and Math Workbooks

•  Individualized Accelerated Math

•  Periodical Assessments to monitor students’ progress

The higher elementary (Grade 4-5) program is designed to meet needs for individual students. Students can choose either to continue standard program or choose a tutoring option.
