Credentialing Changes!

Funding for the Training/Voucher Reimbursement program will be

increased to $400.00 effective October 1, 2013. So, if you have used $100 of

your $200 training money, you will have $300 to use beginning October 1,

2013, not $100 that was originally left over.

Effective October 1, 2013, The Office of Child Care Credentialing Branch will

no longer downgrade to a lower credential level when an application is

submitted to update an expired credential.

Current Credentialing Policy to update an expired credential :

The current policy is that a provider whose credential has expired can be

credentialed at a lower level if the provider submits insufficient Professional

Activity Unit/s (PAU) although the Provider still meet the training and

experience requirements for the higher credential level. For example, a

provider was previously credentialed at a credential level 3, credential

expired, the provider submits application for an update but only submitted

1 PAU. Currently, the provider will be reactivated and credentialed at a

level 2.

New Credentialing Policy to update an expired credential:

Provider must either update at the previous credential level or higher. For

example, a provider was previously credentialed at a credential Level 3,

credential expired, submitted application to update but only submitted 1

PAU. Application will be returned for insufficient PAU to meet the

requirement for credential Level 3.
