Faith and the Sigil Prep Student

As perhaps the ur-example of a cosmopolitan university, Sigil Prep houses students of faiths from

multiple cultures, worlds, and even multiverses if we’re going to get right down to it.

Between the need for diversity and the present author’s obsession with deities and big lists, we present

this exploration of the many, many religions that may or may not be found at Sigil Prep.

get evil god mixed in with their good gods.)

Mythological pantheons

Wait, so… aren’t they all ‘mythological’, assuming ‘mythology’ means ‘story of creation.’ Or none of

them are, if ‘myth’ implies ‘fictional.’ But…

AUSTRALIAN

Page 4: Faiths of Sigil Prep · Faith and the Sigil Prep Student As perhaps the ur-example of a cosmopolitan university, Sigil Prep houses students of faiths from multiple cultures, worlds,

Besides the gods (“Sky-Beings”) of this pantheon, there is another class of divine being called

“Wondjina”

Worshipped: Australia

Many of the Babylonian, Canaanite, and Sumerian gods may be the same entity, but are listed

separately below because sources disagree.

The Elder Gods of this mythos are strange and terrible, and often worshipped by Warlocks everywhere.

Worshipped: R’Lyeh, cults everywhere

MELNIBONEAN

Worshipped: Melnibone

Gathering Pantheons

A few of the faiths from the Multiverse next door have seeped in. Among them…

AMONKHET

There are five gods of significance in the plane of Amonkhet. Well, and the God-Pharaoh, but

he’s a plane-traveling dragon. We’re not sure he properly counts as a god… but people worship him and

gain power so…

Worshipped: Amonkhet

CHURCH OF AVACYN

Never mind that Avacyn herself went insane and the church doesn’t much trust her anymore. There are

some other archangels picking up the slack, however.

Worshipped: Innistrad

THREEFOLD SUN

Three aspects of one sun god.

Worshipped: Ixalan

Minor Pantheons

ASTROMUNDI

Worshipped: Astromundi Cluster

PRIME ALIGNMENT

Worshipped: Prime Alignment World

And Such

STORM KINGS

Worshipped: cults

(The Storm Kings are in charge of the weather in Arcadia. They’re demigods, so technically, they can

grant power to worshipers, but it’s just weird to think about worshipping these guys.)

In addition, there are many gods of nonhuman races who seem to be fairly constant throughout the

local parts of the multiverse.

In additionally addition, there are several other sorts of powers besides gods that have worshippers

among primes. These include Arch-Devils, Demon Lords, Primordials, the Elemental Princes of Evil,

Eldrazi titans (from that multiverse next door), and Primus. There are those who argue the Lady of Pain

Page 6: Faiths of Sigil Prep · Faith and the Sigil Prep Student As perhaps the ur-example of a cosmopolitan university, Sigil Prep houses students of faiths from multiple cultures, worlds,

is a deity or power of some sort. Don’t. Don’t argue that. If there’s even a suspicion in anyone’s mind

that you’re worshipping the Lady of Pain, the Lady of Pain will flay you from the inside out.
