Stephen Ministry - God’s love in Action Celebration Tomorrow evening 9 new Stephen Ministers will celebrate completion of the 50 hours of training required to be commissioned by their home church as Stephen Ministers. This time will be at Christ the King Lutheran in South Bend. While FUMC doesn’t have anyone in this class, we celebrate with them because we are a part of the network of Stephen Ministry churches in the area.

They have worked on topics such as listening, Christian caring, confidentiality, grief, divorce, aging, and care of the dying. Our congregation is blessed with a very active Stephen Ministry program. We meet as a group twice each month for supervision and continuing education. Please pray for the continued strength of this program at Faith Church.

If you desire care and support from a Stephen Minister, please speak with one of the leaders: Pastor John, Janet Miller, Cathy Van Huystee, John Moore, or Linda Schrock.

What is a Stephen Minister? A Stephen Minister is trained layperson that provides one-to-one, confidential Christian care to hurting people in and around our congregation.
