Discussion

Faith for HealingHebrews 4:1, Matthew 9:20-22

The bible reveals to us in 3John 2 that it is God's will for every believer to enjoy divine health. However, this does not seem to be the situation of many believers due to several factors like unbelief and ignorance which usually limits the flow of God's virtue into our lives. The woman with the issue of blood in Matthew 9:20-22 after being unhappy with her sickness, saw herself being healed in her heart and held on to that picture in her memory. This action of hers compelled the healing virtue to flow from Jesus Christ into her body. On the other hand, Jesus could not perform much miracles in His home town because the people lacked faith, Mark 6:6-8. Today's outline seeks to help us understand the critical role of our faith in divine healing.

1. From your own observation, what are the things people do in a bid to get healing these days?

2. While human effort can do a lot, the ultimate result lies in the development of our faith in God through Jesus Christ. The following are ways to develop our faith for healing:

· By hearing the Word. Romans 10:17, Mark 5:27.· By personalizing the Word (confessing, meditating and visualizing it for your

case). Matthew 9:21, Mark 5:28.· By acting on the Word. James 1:22-25, James 2:17.· By being expectant. Matthew 9:29.

As the new creation in Christ, God does not expect us to rely on the spectacular demonstration of the supernatural or be moving desperately from place to place in a bid to seek or receive our healing. Rather, God wants us to grow our faith to receive His provision for healing. You will succeed in Jesus'

Faith for HealingMatt. 9: 20 - 22

Faith is the dynamic force for activating the creative power of God on mankind. The cooperation of divinity and humanity is required to experience a miracle in our lives which includes our businesses. God's redemption package for us in Christ provides healing and restoration of our bodies and the works of our hands. This means that God desires wholesomeness in our careers and businesses. Whenever, we experience delays, stagnation, indebtedness, etc. in our careers or businesses we should immediately recognize that these are sickness that have no right to rule our lives. We must lay hold of God's healing power which is available to us when we exercise faith in His finished work. The focus of our study today is walking in faith that can bring about healing and restoration in our businesses or careers.

1. As a Christian, what role does your expectation play in experiencing the fulfilment of God's promises in your business or career? Discuss.

2. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Heb. 11:6. As a business practitioner or employee, have you had a negative situation turned around by the exercise of your (or a colleague's) faith? Can you share your experience? Below are tips on how we can increase our faith in God:

a. Have a positive outlook to your business (an optimistic mindset) (Prov. 24:7)b. Be diligent and expect to succeed and enjoy God's favour (Matt. 9:20 – 22) c. Confess positively about your situation irrespective of circumstances around you

(2 Kgs. 4:26, Isa.3:10)d. Be reminded of God's goodness and faithfulness in the past (Psa.103: 1 – 3)e. Associate only with people that feed your faith (Psa. 141:4, Psa. 119:105)f. Obey God's commandment (Deut. 28:1)Mention others.

As Christians, we can develop our Faith in God by placing our total trust and confidence in His words as our Daily Manna and having faith in His Supernatural power to grant our heart's desires. This week, as we endeavor to develop our trust in God and His words, we will succeed in Jesus Name, Amen.
