Project Overview: Promoting Clean Production (CP) and Resource Efficiency in 50 Textile Industries in Bangladesh called PaCT. PaCT is a partnership between textile wet processing factories in Bangladesh, international apparel buyers, wet processing technology suppliers, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Dhaka), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the NGO Solidaridad. IFC has commissioned IVAM UvA BV (the Netherlands) to support the local service provider SEBA Ltd based in Dhaka, Bangladesh in the execution of 50 textile industries basic CP assessments. IVAM UvA BV operates in this project in consortium with Environmental Management Centre LLP (India) and ISB (Sri Lanka). Duties/Responsibilities:   Conduct periodic internal reviews or energy audits are followed:

Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed:

Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues. Assess product, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management

strategies. Improve labeling and MSDS display and ensure safe chemical handling. Establish specific environmental policy and procedures Ensure environmental awareness and compliance Establish waste management procedure and ensure proper waste storage area Raise awareness among workforces on hygiene practices and ensure healthy and

hygienic environment. Standardize the chemical sub-stores and improve housekeeping

Energy audits ( Manufacturing, Plantation industries) The analysis of utility data, including study of the installed equipment and analysis of

energy bills The survey of the real operating conditions Performance evaluation of equipment including boiler, generator, air compressor,

electric motors etc. Performance evaluation of Effluent treatment plant (ETP), laboratory etc. Status of light intensity and noise pollution in the production floor. energy conservation capacity. Prepare audit reports and give the organization an overview of the capabilities of the

current systems and the required improvements. Assist the organizations in installation, repairs and operating the energy efficient

systems. Check compliance of the installed systems with the environmental laws. Conduct energy tests to judge the system on basis of utility, conservation and output. Keep track on ways of transporting and managing energy to check for wastages

Collaborate with human resources departments to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance standard violations.

Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress. Direct environmental programs, such as air or water compliance, aboveground or

underground storage tanks, spill prevention or control, hazardous waste or materials management, solid waste recycling, medical waste management, indoor air quality, integrated pest management, employee training, or disaster preparedness.
