Dear Students,
Welcome to Presentation College and the 2013/2014 school year! We are so excited to have you join us at the Fairmont Campus. It has been a very busy summer preparing for you. Let me share with you some of the exciting things happening!
Presentation College is celebrating 10 years in Fairmont! A picnic was held in SMEC’s parking lot on June 6 in honor of this occasion. Despite the colder weather, it was a great turn out. Over $700 was raised to go towards the 2014 Mardi Gras scholarship. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the Mardi Gras on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
Presentation College has a new mascot, a St. Bernard puppy. “We have been talking about this for over a year,” said Margaret Huber, college president. “It is an opportunity to create an image, a symbol, related to the Saints that wasn’t a white robe with wings.” The St. Bernard traveled to the Fairmont Campus for orientation on August 12. Everyone on this campus was thrilled to meet PC’s mascot, However, your assistance is needed to help name PC’s mascot…more information on page 6.
Also, mark your calendars for the “Back-to-School” picnic that will be on Thursday, September 5 from 11:30 a.m.– 1 p.m. in the SMEC parking lot. Walking taco, cookies and water will be served! Please stop by the office to pick up your ticket to this picnic. This ticket will get you registered for door prizes and helps me know how much food to order.
It is important to know what is happening at Presentation College. There are several ways that we have developed to keep you informed:

Congratulations Presentation College
Fairmont Campus Class of 2013
To keep yourself safe, remember these tips:
Be aware of your surroundings. Being on
a cell phone can limit this ability.
Use the buddy system whenever
possible.
Recognize who should be in the SMEC
building. If someone doesn’t feel or look
like he or she should be here, call the
police at 507-238-4481 or dial 911.
If you have a security concern, please
contact Traci Lardy in the Main Office or
at 507-235-4658.
Because the Southern Minnesota
Educational Campus (SMEC) Building is
owned by the City of Fairmont, police
officers will periodically patrol the building.
It is important that you understand that the
officers are here not because of any
concerns, but simply for your safety.
The doors to the SMEC Building are locked
at 10 p.m. If you are in the building after
this, you will be charged with trespassing
and fined.
