Helpful Hints
Examples of Mobile Practices
Use the Word Mashup. There is currently an issue caused by copying and pasting text from MS Word directly into Blackboard Learn. Doing so may freeze student's mobile application.
Course Management. We recommend that you manage your course via the Blackboard Learn environment on your desktop or laptop browser instead of your mobile device.
Media. We recommend using MP3 Audio and MP4 video files, which will play across all devices and operating systems. Avoid Flash formatted media. Not all media files are accessible on all types of mobile devices; for example, Flash cannot be viewed on iOS devices.
Additional Examples of Best Practices
Utilize course features students can interact with on their mobile devices; View course content Blogs entries Discussion boards Announcements Uploading of pictures or movie files (limit to
10mbs)from their device Take Blackboard tests (not tests hosted in Horizon)

Looking ahead
Teachers should review the content they will be releasing during the school year to make sure it is mobile friendly.
Teachers should expect an increase in course traffic as students activate the app on their devices. Return traffic will depend on the amount of content and interaction opportunities available.
