•   Arwa  Alumran  received  her  Ph.D.  in  Health  from  Queensland  university  of  Technology,  Australia  in  June  2014.  

She  has  been  working   as   an  Assistant  Professor   in   the  Health   Information  Management   and  Technology  

Department  in  Imam  Abdulrahman  bin  Faisal  University,  Saudi  Arabia  since  2014.    

•   Dr.  Arwa’s  work  is  focused  on  Biostatistics,  Epidemiology,  and  Research  methodology.  She  has  been  involved

 Brief  Description  of  Undergraduate  Courses  Taught:  (Course  Title  –  Code:  Description)    1   HIMT  221  (Basic  Biostatistics):  This  course  will  enable  the  students  to  contextualize  the  use  of  biostatistics  

as   a   part   of   a   health   information   management   team   responsible   to   provide   basic   skills   in   statistical  evaluation  and  analysis.  The  course  is  intended  to  qualify  students  to  professionally  assess  the  quality  of  health   care   by   designing   sampling   techniques   required   for   assessment,   collecting   and   managing   data,  presenting  data,  analyzing  and   interpreting  data,  and  utilizing   statistical   information   for  evidence  based  practices  for  decision  making  purposed  regarding  policy  change  in  the  health  sector.  

2   HIMT  224  (Introductory  Epidemiology):  This  is  an  introductory  course  in  Epidemiology.  It  introduces  the  basic  concepts  in  Epidemiology  and  the  covers  the  different  study  designs  used  in  Epidemiology.  It  causation  and  logical  thinking  in  Epidemiology.  The  course  also  covers  the  epidemiology  of  Saudi  Arabia.
