• Mortgage Foreclosure litigation Clinic launched a pioneering “limited scope retainer” pilot project. yale law School students provided same-day, in-court legal representation to pro se homeowners facing foreclosure in New haven. After depositions and motion practice, the Clinic settled affirmative cases and counter-claims against several banks, recovering more than $100,000 for the Clinic’s clients. The Clinic’s record on their recent bevy of amicus briefs is one win (Connecticut); one still undecided (Florida); and losses in both Maine and the Supreme Court of the United States. Clinic students also succeeded in shepherding several innovative foreclosure reforms through the Connecticut legislature.

• landlord-Tenant Clinic won dismissal of evictions against several clients, and is defending one of those victories on appeal.
