“Two thousand and …” or “Twenty –”

Other BIG numbers Use ‘and’
239 - two hundred AND thirty -nine
3045 – three thousand AND forty-five
204 – two hundred AND four
8006 - eight thousand AND six * Not in American English
Other BIG numbers ‘Round’ numbers in thousands are
often read as ‘hundreds’
1100 - eleven hundred
3500 – thirty-five hundred
3246 – three thousand, two hundred and forty-six
Number ‘1’The number ‘1’ is commonly pronounced as ‘a’ when it is the first digit.
e.g. 150 would be read as ‘a hundred and fifty’.
