    Government Influence over Rahimafrooz LTD.

Government initiatives and aids are very important for an organization sothat an organization can

easily evolve them in domestic market and as well as abroad. Rahimafrozz is such an

organization which has acquired few significant assist from Bangladesh government andsimultaneously the government has inspired Rahimafrozz by giving participating opportunities to

few gigantic events. Several instances are described here and these are truly the key achievement

    for Rahimafrozz.

    Fact 1:

In accordance with the government directive to encourage the use of solar electricity in

government offices, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) has installed a solar

power solution and a solar water pump with auto tracker at its Agargaon premises in Dhaka

Metropolitan city which has installed by Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Ltd a leading

company in solar applications. Yafes Osman, state minister for science and information and

communication technology inaugurated the project. Rahimafrozz has been installed a total of 64

solar panels of 270 watt capacity on the rooftop. There are a total of 48 batteries which will act

as the source of storage power for 1430AH. Total capacity of the solution would be 17.5 KWp

which would supply 7.5 kW load for 5 hours solar operation every day. System voltage would

be 48 V. This solution will provide 25,920 units of electricity throughout the year with an

expected lifetime of 25 years. The project will be saving 8.4 ton CO2 emission potential from

our atmosphere. In 25 years, it will save 210 ton CO2. This is a significant step in sustainable

    development.

Rahimafrooz has been working towards the development of renewable energy, mainly solar

energy in Bangladesh for more than 25 years and with the aid of government initiatives the

organization has successfully launched various applications of solar energy such as solar

lighting solution, solar powered BTS, mobile solar solution etc.

Most recently Rahimafrooz has introduced solar powered irrigation system which could well be

a breakthrough technology for our energy stricken agro-based economy.

Rahimafrooz is very proud of successfully completing the Solar Power Solution Projects for the

prime Ministers Office and Bangladesh Bank.

    Fact 2:

The top executives of ADB (Asian Development Bank) assured a high-level Bangladesh

delegation of the grants on the final day of its three-day Asia Solar Energy Forums conference,

held in Bangkok, Thailand at the start of June 2012. This delegation was led by the Prime

Ministers energy adviser, Tawfiq-e-ElahiChowdhury. "The project needs an investment of about

$3 billion, of which we proposed for 60 percent capital funds and 20 percent long-term soft

loans," a government source in the power division who attended the conference said. "The rest

will be provided by the government and the private sector."

    The 500 MW plan

The Bangladesh Governments power division and state-owned Infrastructure Development

Company Limited (IDCOL), along with private organizations such as Rahimafrooz Renewable

and Grameen Shakti, will implement the project. The proposed 500 MW solar project aims to see

photovoltaic installed in urban areas, and mini-grid solar plants in rural areas, officials who

attended the conference said. Specifically, the plan includes social-impact projects where solar

power will be delivered to rural health centers, schools and other important institutions. The nine

ministries that would also help with its implementation, in coordination with the Power Division,

are the ministries of railway, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), housing and

public works, health and family planning, religious affairs, education, industries and agriculture.
