The new Cupra is built at the Martorell plant in Spain and the Cupra

280 is the most powerful car Seat has produced to date.

The Cupra models are available from March 2014.

AEB Fitment - Not Optional

Technology : Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system continuously adjusts the suspension settings according to the current road conditions.

Electronic Stability Control is standard, but can be deactivated in two stages; firstly Traction Control deactivation, then full deactivation.

The Cupra is fitted as standard with a hydraulic locking front differential for improved traction control, which allows up to 100% of the drive to be directed to one wheel (in extreme cases) to eliminate torque steer.

As with the Leon, the Cupra is available with fully LED headlights.

Trim levels : Standard equipment on UK models includes the LED headlamps, 18” alloy wheels, rain sensing wipers and auto headlamps.

The 280 models feature 19” alloy wheels and a rear spoiler, and are finished in a Titanium colour.

The interior is finished in dark Grey Alcantara, but Black or Black/Grey leather is an option.Adaptive Cruise Control is an option (£500).The Safety Pack is a driver alertness monitoring system.

CONSTRUCTION USING THE MQB PLATFORM MEANS MUCH GREATER USE OF UHSS

AND HSS FOR CRASH PERFORMANCE, BUT ALSO FOR RIGIDITY. THE SILL INNER WILL

UTILISE HOT-FORMED UHSS, AS WILL THE B-POST REINFORCEMENT, THE REAR SEAT

BENCH AND LARGE AREAS OF THE TRANSMISSION TUNNEL AND FLOOR BRACES.

ADVANCED HSS WILL BE USED FOR THE CHASSIS LEGS, A AND B POST INNERS AND

ROOF HEADER RAIL.

THE CUPRA IS AVAILABLE AS A 5-DOOR HATCHBACK, OR AS A 3-DOOR SC MODEL.

Powertrains :The 2.0 TSi turbo-charged petrol engine is 200PS or (as the 280 name implies) 280PS versions, with 280PS versions having the option of a DSG transmission.

A 6-speed manual transmission is standard fit.
