• Mesa College ranks as San Diego’s top transfer institution. Mesa’s transfer rate consistently surpasses the statewide average, with over half of the college’s students transferring to a four-year institution within six years (Source: CCCCO DataMart).

• The Stand and Farmers Markets provide clothing and food to over 5,000 households annually.

• Mesa College was the first community college in California to offer a bachelor’s degree program in Health Information Management. Mesa made history by awarding the first set of bachelor’s degrees in Spring 2018. In 2021, nearly 30 students graduated from the Program.

• Mesa College is one of 38 Hispanic Serving Institutions throughout the state to receive a five-year, $5 million Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Mesa’s program, STEM Conexiones (STEM Connections), strengthens the college’s capacity to serve underrepresented students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

• Mesa College has been a recipient of the DeVore Trophy, awarded to the Pacific Coast Athletics Conference (PCAC) college with the most successful men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics program.

• Mesa College Selected Participated in the Achieving the Dream Teaching and Learning with OER (Open Educational Resources) Study, and the 2020-2021 academic year there were nearly 600 sections in almost 200 courses using OER and zero cost textbooks, which saved students over $1,616,515.

ABOUT THE SDCCD

As the second-largest of California’s 72 community college districts, the San Diego Community College District serves approximately 100,000 students annually through three two-year colleges andSan Diego Continuing Education. The three colleges, San Diego City College, San Diego Mesa College, and San Diego Miramar College, offer associate degrees and certificates in occupational programs that prepare students for transfer to four -year colleges and entry-level

jobs. Mesa College also offers a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management. Continuing Education offers noncredit adult education at six campuses throughout San Diego.
