Look Up Your Account

1. Type your NID where indicated. (If you don’t know your NID, click on the “I forgot my NID” link and follow the instructions provided.)

2. In the field below “Enter the characters you see or hear,” type in the characters that appear above.

3. Click on the “Next” button.

Confirm Ownership

1. Click to select the method you’d like to use to confirm your NID Ownership: Challenge Questions or Confirm via Email.

2. If you select “Challenge Questions,” you will be prompted to answer questions that you previously entered into the system. For example:

Type your response where indicted and press the “Next” button. You will be asked another question before your account ownership is confirmed. You will then be taken to the Change Password screen.

Facilities and Safety How-To Guide: Resetting Your NID Password

If you select “Confirm via Email,” you will be prompted to select one of the email addresses associated with your account.

Click the radio button to the left of the email address you want to use and click on the “Next” button. An automated message with instructions for confirming ownership of your account will be sent to the email address you selected.

Facilities and Safety How-To Guide: Resetting Your NID Password

The email provides two options to confirm account ownership. You can either click on the link provided, or copy the verification code at the bottom of the email and paste it into the Confirm Ownership screen (as shown below).

The simplest way to complete this step is to click on the link provided in the email. This will take you directly to the Change Password screen.

Facilities and Safety How-To Guide: Resetting Your NID Password

Change Your NID Password

1. In the “New Password” field, type in your new password.

2. In the “Confirm Password” field, retype your new password.

3. Click on the “Set Password” button. (If the two passwords do not match, you will receive an error message and be prompted to re-enter your password.)

Your new password must meet the Password Requirements shown on the screen.

4. A screen will appear confirming that you have successfully changed your NID. You will also receive an automated email confirmation.
