6
Open Urban Platform: urban platform that uses open standards and interfaces to
guarantee compatibility and interoperability with other systems and
other urban platforms. (according to DIN SPEC 91357)
8
Ø Further development of standardized ICT reference architectures forSmart Cities presented later on
Ø Extends exisiting standards by multiple concepts required for an open eco-system
ü Service Access Points – abstract interfaces between the different (classes of) ICT components in a Smart City
Ø oupPLUS allows for systematic analysis of Smart City architecturesØ oupPLUS enables the structuring of Urban ICT
Ø oupPLUS enables the creation of dynamic Smart City eco-systems involving multiple stakeholders, e.g. industry, SMEs, academia, Open Source Initiatives …
oupPLUS – based on a DIN Specification

oupPLUS – the Quality Assurance and InteroperabilityView
10
Ø Conformance Testingü of the Service Access Pointsü i.e. Testing of the Standard Protocols at the SAPsü Many available test suites for various protocols- SIP - TTCN-3 ETSI- IPv6 - IPv6 Ready Logo- 6LowPan- SOAP, HTTP, 3GPP, LTE … TTCN3- ...
Ø Security Testingü of the Service Access Pointsü Penetration testing
Ø Interoperability Testingü at the Service Access Pointsü e.g. ETSI Interop PlugTests
Ø Provide a unified view and understanding on the ICT strategies of cities
Ø Identify interfaces for communication between involved components
Ø Enable the accommodation of legacy systems into an ICT Reference Architecture
Ø Enable the exchange and interoperability of various components and/or software packages along the identified and standardized interfaces – i.e. avoid VENDOR LOCK-IN
Ø Define the ICT Reference Architecture and interfaces in a way that Open Source components can be used, in order to enable cities and communities to get independent from particular vendors
ICT Reference Architecture from EIP SCC
12
Ø Adaptation of the EIP SCC results to the needs of the German marketØ Start in November 2016 à Specification document released at the beginning of 2018Ø More than 10 partners (cities, municipalities, industry, research, automotive, software,
network providers …)Ø Goals: Open Urban ICT Reference Architecture for the German market
ü Open Interfacesü Layers for Communication and Data Processingü Security, Privacy …ü Use Cases
DIN OUP SPEC 91357 „Reference Architecture Open Urban Platform”
14
Ø Instantiation of DIN OUP for Urban MobilityØ 15 partners from automotive, cities, software vendors, academia, mobility and transportation service
providersØ Initiated in 2018 –> DIN specification released in April 2019Ø Goal: Instantiation of DIN OUP for the purposes of Urban Mobilityü 25+ use cases- Intermodal transport- Connected autonomous driving- Urban Logistics- Smart Parking- Urban Air Mobility- …
ü Conceptual analysis of the DIN OUP instantiationü Development of an overarching concept/standard for urban mobility data collection for real-time applicationsü Relation to SUMP – Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan discussed on European levelü Roles and Responsobilitiesü Organisation & Operator Modelü Business Models
DIN SPEC 91367 „Urban mobility data collection for real-time applications”
