Groups• Groups are one of the best tools available on Facebook for staying in touch
with friends. • Groups offer more control than you news feed or list.
• Post are ordered based on activity, but you see everything. Nothing is hidden. No algorithms.
• You only see what is of interest to the group.• You can search for items in a group
• Unlike a list, people will definitely see what you post. • Groups allow you to converse with like minded people so not everyone has to
see what you are talking about. • Make groups for every interest, for neighborhoods, for family groups, friends. • There is a new group app so you can only open that app and see your groups.
Because of this you can avoid the rest of Facebook if you wish to.

Create Your Own Group or Find Others• https://www.facebook.com/browsegroups/?category=membership
• Then use the special features of groups:• Files: Groups have a separate tab for shared files. You can use these to
share almost anything of importance for groups such as lists, documents, software, etc.
• Events: You can do this in the rest of Facebook, but maybe you just want to plan a group outing or meal.
• Polls: Quiz your groups to gain a quick consensus or make plans.

Pages• Pages are an excellent way to communicate to the public at large, but only
those that have actually “liked” your page and those that follow them. • Pages are much like groups, but are open to all.• Pages can be a way to market, a public sounding board, an open
discussion platform.• Pages need to be managed to work and to ensure consumers needs are
being met and problems are being solved. https://www.facebook.com/bestbuy
• Page feeds are doled out based on Facebooks “algorithm”• You can boost your posts to gain a larger readership and ensure they are
seen. This DOES cost money.
