Facebook is the most well known social networking site.
Facebook is particularly good for local businesses, or those retailing products.
Let’s look at why!

users by the end of June 2012.

Search for other relevant or complimentary facebook pages
or groups via the search bar at the top.
• Publicise your page – write on their page inviting people to
yours.
• Like what they do and comment on their status updates to
build rapport and to keep your presence there
• When you set up your page facebook gives you a unique
web address www.facebook.com/YourBusinessName. Use
this web address as a link to direct people to your page

Use Pay-Per-Click adverts to drive customers to your ‘like’ page.
• Pay-Per-Click: A marketing system on the Web in which the advertiser
pays when the user clicks on its advertisement and goes to its site
• You can narrow down the audience you want to reach by gender,
location, age, interests, relationship status & other factors.
• You set the budget and are only charged when someone clicks
through the advert to your page

• Add ‘like’ button to your website or blog – If you are not
sure how to do this search for ‘facebook widget’ on Google
for instructions on how to add this to your own website.

It is generally accepted in marketing that a person is told about your business between 5 and 15 times before they buy your product.
Getting them to ‘like’ your page keeps them linked to regular reminders about your business
