• Users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics. As of July 2011

• Considering the age of the Facebook subscribers which range from 15-45, it is an ideal platform for MEDIU to recruits students for the various courses offered by the university at all level of studies (undergraduate 18-30, masters 30-40, and PhD 40-45).

• Just like university websites, university Facebook pages often cater to prospective students. The page, for instance, may have portal that gives easy access to university information which is needed for the prospective students to make the university their educational destination choice

• MEDIU can use Facebook to advertise new accredited courses, events and achievements as well as broadcast the university news.


It is cheaper

• Facebook can generate great visibility for MEDIU and make it one of the well-known higher institutions of learning not only in Malaysia but also around the globe.
