    Face to Faith experience

My experience with a friend of another religion began a little bit bizarre;I thought that because he was a Jew and I was catholic we wouldnt befriends. His name is Sam, he was a class partner for about a year and at first

we wouldnt talk much or share opinions but after time passed by and westarted talking more often, even trading controversial opinions withoutseeming to have any kind of social/religious pressure.

He taught me about their traditional practices and he even showed mehow to speak Hebrew, all the time we were together he showed me new stuff as well as I showed him too. Even a little bit after we were friends we didntdiscuss religious views or practice perspectives; but one day he showed upasking me about what I believed in, so we took a really long talk concerningabout religion and the way we saw it implemented into life.

When the religious barrier was broken I thought our friendship wasfinally fully achieved, because this was my first non catholic or atheist friend Iwas afraid to introduce him into my hanging out tendencies or parting style, even tough he was the one introducing me into his community first than I did!

Here on my city, average society is catholic so I thought that becauseCatholics were the majority, we had a free mind tendency and we were theones persuading more people into joining. Sam just showed me the oppositebased on my prejudice, he and his Jew community invited me to the main halldinner. These actions demonstrate us the lack of global perception our societyis obviously lacking of, but I couldnt believe how correct we think we arewhen actually we can learn much about other people that sometimes getdiscriminated by something so insignificant like color, ethic pertinence or religion.

Sam has opened my eyes and he has helped me into being more openminded and aware of my own errors, even tough we think that because werethe majority we should always be right thats not always the scenario. Eachindividual has as much to learn from others, as he/she is willing to. When wetransfer this ideology into religion, the interaction between completely differentenvironments generate a super rich cultural context and a great opportunity

for a human being to increase his/her life understandings as well as tospiritually grow and develop a sense of understanding.

Two years have passed since I met Sam and now Im friend of all theJews in my hometown, one Satanic and some other Jehovah Whiteness. Idont freak out when someone does not sh ares the same opinion as I do andactually Im not feeling uncomfortable with having homosexual friendsbecause I know something called respect and I know that people who thinkthey know the most are the most ignorant in a developed society.
