Fabric filtersThis type of filter is known as the bag-houses or the fabric collectors. They use the above for the collection of dust and filtration. In this category the most efficient and the most cost effective dust collectors available have more than 99% collection efficiency.These polluted gases enter the stream and pass through the filter bags that act as the filters. These bags stop the particulate matter and the air is let through. These are made up of materials like felted cotton, synthetic, or glass-fiber material in either a tube or the envelope.

Pre-coating:All the filter bags to ensure that they have a better longevity are coated with a pre-coat or filter enhancement . The use of the chemical inert limestone is the most common amongst all and is of maximum efficiency of the dust collection part. This is done using the formation of what is known as the dust cake or coating on the surface of filter medium. This place not only provides protection but also provides a barrier to the bag from the moisture, oily and sticky particles and much more. If the pre-coating is not present the bag will allow the small and tiny particles to pass through. Thus applying pre-coat enhances the ability of fabric filter.Parts of the bag houses or fabric filters:Clean plenum, Dusty Plenum, bag, cage, venture assembly, tube plate, RAV/SCREW, Compressed air header, Blow pipe, a housing and a hopper.

Different types of bag cleaning used• Shaking: This method uses the movement of the

bag connected by a rod. As the rod moves the particulate matter is shaken. This shaking is dependent on the type of motor used. When shaken the dust particles fall out. During this process no polluted air flows through the chamber.

• Reverse air: It uses the principle of reverse air flow through the bag. This happens when the polluted air flow is stopped and then when the bags are relaxed the reverse air is send. This reverse air throws out all the dust particles out of the bag.
