Applications EngineeringThe Applications Engineering group concentrates on the optimization of a customer’s UV process or proposed process and in assisting customers with troubleshooting of their UV curing process. Their expertise includes system selection and configuration; determination of system size, lamp type, and optics; machine design concepts, integration; and air handling systems and measurement (radiometry and thermometry).

This group oversees and operates the Applications Lab in which processes can be developed, demonstrated, or refined using any of a wide range of UV exposure equipment available, including all lamp and bulb types.

PM KitsThere are two types of Preventive Maintenance kits available: Basic and Deluxe. The Basic PM kit contains a UV bulb, RF screen, and R500 reflector. This kit is for the routine maintenance inspections. The Deluxe PM kit contains UV bulb, RF screen, R500 reflector, magnetron pair, photodetector, and pressure switch. This kit is for a complete irradiator rebuild.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All MT-model power supplies built between 5/5/05 and 2/1/07 have single-value HV capacitors (C101-C102) installed. The new capacitors do not have a jumper assembly, and if it becomes necessary to configure the system for a line frequency other than that delivered, the installed single-value capacitors must be removed and replaced with capacitors designated for use at the desired frequency. An upgrade kit is also available to convert the power supply to the current 4-capacitor configuration. Refer to the System Manual for replacement and wiring instructions.Refer to Table for the replacement capacitor part numbers.

P300MT/P300M/P300MQ Capacitor ListingDue to part obsolescence, the dual-value capacitors (50/60 Hz) and single value capacitors (50 or 60 Hz) in older power supply versions have been replaced with a 4-capacitor layout for 50 or 60 Hz operation (dependent upon capacitor wiring) in the newer models. Replacement capacitors may still be available for older units that contain dual value or single value capacitor arrangements. However, the capacitors for these units will be frequency specific. Validate the proper power supply version prior to ordering replacement capacitors in your power supply unit.

For a quick visual reference, the dual-value capacitors have three terminals and the single value capacitors have two terminals.
