You will write your second in-class composition the Thursday or Friday that we return from the Thanksgiving break. Read carefully below. You will be able to bring notes (similar to first composition). I will take them up. No English allowed in your notes Don’t use a translator (such as google translator) or ask anyone for help, you of course, may use your text book and notes to prewrite your writing (“composition”) You may NOT copy your writing in class if you write it out prior writing it in class. This information is a must, if you do not have it, your writing will suffer. Look for the information ahead of time. You will write your second in-class composition the Thursday or Friday that we return from the Thanksgiving break. Read carefully below.

A. (Should have 6 sentences in this section)

**Check in your book if they are capitalizing origin adjectives in Spanish. In English, you do, but not in Spanish, HENCE, in Spanish you say “argentino”, “boliviano”, colombiano, in lower case- Just make sure.

PART A: 1. Soy Diego Martínez Hernández. 2. Soy de Medellín, Colombia. 3. Soy colombiano. 4. Soy alto, inteligente y simpático. 5. Mi familia es pequeña. 6. Vivo con mi mamá y mis hermanas, Laura y Rosa.

PART B: 1. Colombia está en Sudamérica. 2. El gobierno de Colombia es una república constitucional. 3.El presidente es Juan Manuel Santos. 4.Vivo en la ciudad de Medellín. 5.Una persona famosa de Colombia es Shakira. 6. Shakira es cantante y artista. 7. Ruinas ancianas en Medellin donde turistas visitan es el Palacio Egipcio. 8. En Medellin puedes visitar muchos museos.

NOTE: I am going to keep part B here so you can see that all the sentences are crossed. The teacher said 8, evne though she put 7. I added sentence 1 because it goes with it. B. (Should have 8 sentences in this section- The information should be factual about the gov’t/ country or city) -Tell what kind of gobierno (government) your country has (socialista, democrático, dictadura…look up the word if you do not know) -Tell who the leader, presidente(a), or dictator is (a real person) of your country -Tell what city you live in (from your country) -Tell of una persona famosa from your country. The person may be alive or deceased. -What is (was, “era”) the profession of this person: writer, singer, politician, athlete, scientist (look up the word if you don’t know it.) -Name a restaurante popular or some ruinas ancianas in your city where turistas visit. -Tell at least one activity (away from your home) that you like to do in your city

Part C: 1.La región donde vivo no tiene cuatro estaciones. 2. Medellín solo tiene verano pero yo prefiero el otoño. 3. Normalmente el clima es caliente y húmedo todo el tiempo. 4. Llueve mucho. 5. Normalmente puedes vestir pantalones cortos y camisa de manga corta. Note: Check chapter 6 to make sure my clothing vocabulary matches what the book says. If it doesn’t switch it to match. All teacher wants is 2 items.

C. (Should have 4 or 5 sentences in this section) -Tell how many seasons are normally in your city, country or región donde tú vives?pg 154 -Tell what the weather is like normalmente -Tell what you normally might wear in at least 2 of the seasons. See ch -6 vocab for this part. -Tell which season you like most or prefer

Chapter 5 vocab (ir de, estar de, salir para, volver de vacaciones) will help with this section and the preterite (past tense) from chapter 6, pgs 206-207.

1.Mi familia y yo fuimos de vacaciones de verano a Disney World el año pasado. 2. Nosotros pasamos tres semanas en Disney World. 3. Estuvimos en las atracciones de centro de Epcot y el castillo de Cenicienta. 4. Yo conocí al ratón Mickey! 5. Después de Disney World regresamos a Colombia.

-Tell where you and your family members or friends travelled (went, pg 244) last year (summer). -Tell how much time you spent there (pasar días, semanas etc) -Tell of one activity a friend or your family member(s) did and -Tell of a different activity that you did there -Tell when you all returned to your city. (Después de = after)
