While most children enjoy their last holidays before school start, what are the little flutists and guitarists

thinking about? To clean up their instrument and practice music with their friends, of course!

This year, we are delighted to invite you to a fantastic youth hostel in Oostduinkerke, on the Belgian

coast. Located at just a ten minutes' walking distance from the beach and the sand dunes, the YH 'De

Peerdevisser' is the best location to enjoy a fantastic musical workshop for the whole family.

The course will start on Monday August

20 at 4 PM and will end on Friday August

24 at 11 AM with our Final Concert.

Every flute, recorder and guitar player up to 18 years of age, who has studied the Suzuki repertoire, is invited to join us during this Summer workshop.

The course will start with a play-in together at 4 PM on Monday August 20 and will end after the final concert on Friday August 24 at 11 AM. Everybody is welcome as from 3 AM on Monday August 20.

Students under the age of 10 (born in 2009 or later) must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them. Participants aged 10 (born in 2008) and over are allowed without parental accompaniment under strict conditions and an additional charge for their monitor. All parents will get household regulations in duplicate which they will have to sign and mail back to SFV vzw. Youngsters without accompaniment will stay overnight in big sleeping rooms (boys & girls sleeping apart).

COURSE CONTENT

Siblings who play a string instrument are also very welcome to join our workshop. For them and in function of their number, a customised workshop will be arranged. You are invited to mention this on your subscription form, or to send an email to suzukifluit@gmail.com.

We also offer the opportunity for flute, recorder and guitar teachers to observe the lessons and concerts during the whole workshop or during one day. Please, indicate this clearly on your application form.

ORGANISATION

Book I, 3 lessons/day: - 1 master class - 1 group lesson - 1 lesson Music Mind Games

Book II and up, 4 lessons/day: - 1 master class - 2 group lessons - Ensemble, chamber music… in fonction of enrollment

The repertoire for the group lessons and ensembles will be sent from April 15 on. Practice these pieces with your home teacher so you will enjoy more during our Summer Workshop. The Suzuki repertoire will be played by memory. Those of you who already can read notes, will play in ensembles. If so, not forget to bring a music stand with you! We are also looking for piccolo, alto and bass flute players! If you own one, write it please on your application form under 'remarks'

DA ILY LUNCH CONCERTS

We encourage every particpant to play a piece out of the Suzuki repertoire during one of the daily lunch concerts. Choose for this a piece that you already can play well and have studied with your home teacher. Once chosen, send us the title and composer of the piece before June 15 to suzukifluit@gmail.com.

Youth Hostel ‘De Peerdevisser’ offers you a comfortable stay in bedrooms of 4 to 6 persons, all meals included. All bedrooms have their own shower, bathroom and W.C. Please tell us on your application form with how many persons you are ready to share your room. We do all we can to offer everybody suitable accommodation, but remember please that this is a Youth Hostel! There are 3 beds and chairs for little children, but you have to order them in advance (free of charge). Bedding is provided but you need to bring your own towels.

Rooms will be free on Monday August 20 at 3 PM and must be left on Friday August 24 at 10 AM at the latest. Mention also, please, on the application form if you wish to enjoy vegetarian meals.

ACCOMODATION

Participants who would like to stay elsewhere, are also most welcome to our summer course. In this case and for organisational reasons, we ask you to take care of your own lunch..

Parents who bring their teenagers to the Youth Hostel on Monday August 20 are invited to share supper with us, provided that an additional fee is paid in advance. The same applies for lunch on Friday August 24.

RECREAT ION

De Peerdevisser is surrounded by a park with a playground and is located within a ten minutes’ walking distance from the seaside. The youth hostel’s bar is open from 6 PM until 11 PM. From 8PM on, quietness is demanded in the bedroom’s corridors for families with young children. From 11PM absolute silence is required. PAYMENT

Because YH ‘De Peerdevisser’ is a very popular vacation place, everything needs to be booked and payed on time. In order to ensure your participation and accommodation, we ask you to pay the total amount before March 1, 2018. In case of later payment, the invoice for the course fee and accommodation inscreases by 15% per participant. Deadline for final registration is May 1, 2018.

Even if staying in full pension at the hostel, a small amount of pocket money might be necessary for evening drinks at the bar.

CANCELAT ION

The board of directors of SFV vzw has the right to cancel Suzuki flute, recorder &guitar by the sea 2018 if there not enough registrations. In this case, the fullamount paid will be refunded.

If participants cancel their registration before June 15, 2018, everything willbe refunded by Suzuki Fluit Vlaanderen vzw with the exception of € 50.00 ofadministration costs. In case of cancellation after June 15, 2018, nothing willbe refunded by Suzuki Fluit Vlaanderen vzw, except in case of illness ordeath in the family circle.
