The victim is Harold Crowe, a private in the national army, who was taken ill on Sunday while home on a few days’ furlough. The latest military developments in Palestine show that Gen. Allenby’s forces are now operating quite rapid ly, having now advanced northward sixty miles from their original posi tions and occupied Besan, Alapula and Nazareth, capturing 18,000 pris oners and 120 guns and still gather ing in disorganized masses of Turkish troops. This is very considerable pro gress toward Damascus. Presumably the Lydda-Damascus railway is being utilized. At Nazareth the Anglo- Egyptian army is not far by rail from the coast cities of Haif and Acre. The Christian world will be greatly grat ified by the capture of Nazareth, and a new interest will be attached to the Palestine campaign. The Anglo- Egptian army in Palestine under Gen. Allenby and the Anglo-Indian army in Mesopotamia under Gen. Marshall are still far apart— possibly more than 600 miles. There appears to be ground for the belief that in both regions the Turkish troops have become demoralized and hopeless. COUNTY COURT— NIAGARA COUN TY— Almerin B. Langdon, Plain tiff, vs. Lewis H.
