A. Product Description• Exterior: Freestanding steel kiosk with a branded, tempered

glass back panel • Interior: Microprocessor powering a modem and printer (no

ink nor cartridge needed)

B. What does the Dispenser purchase include? • The unit itself and 12 paper rolls + branding with your logo• 12 months maintenance (parts and service)

C. What does the monthly subscription include?• Content license• Author copyrights• Automatic content updates via 3G or ethernet connection• Access to the dashboard with statistics, tutorials, content

and footer changes• Customizable footer with your logo • Programmable catalog changes at any time

D. What are the technical requirements? • Standard power outlet • We manage a 3G connection for content updates & alerts,

otherwise the unit is ethernet cable-ready

E. Is it mobile & if so, how do you transport it?• The Dispenser weighs 65 lbs and is easily transportable on a dolly, and transportable in a vehicle either in its original

packaging, or securely strapped• Upon request at time of order, a ballast (30lbs) can be installed on the base to prevent damage in high tra� ic areas. • No configuration required; plug-and-play• If needed, there are pre-drilled holes in the base allowing the unit to be bolted to the floor • Customized protective cover (optional)

F. Can you customize the Dispenser? • With the standard purchase, your engraved logo on the backlit glass panel is included (in white or color)Optional Customizations:• The glass button console in any Pantone color • The paper slot (orange, white, grey, brushed aluminum) • The Dispenser base in any color• Customized decals

G. Are there other button options?• Standard option: 3 buttons with “1 min, 3 min and 5 min” of reading time. • 2 button option: two customizable content options (General Public / Children’s Stories, Your Stories / Short Edition

H. Where should the Dispenser be placed?• The Dispenser should be placed in a visible location (entrance, exit, main passageway, or where lines gather) • It must be placed indoors, away from water sources

A. Which KPIs are included in the reporting?The reports displayed on the dashboard of the admin console include:• Cumulative print stats per Dispenser • Comparative stats per location• The total number of stories distributed over time for all

Dispensers • A heat map of the average number of stories distributed by

day and hour• Stories distributed per button

B. How do we know if the unit is performing well? • You can monitor the status of all units through your admin

console• You may receive SMS and/or email alerts when the paper roll

is running low and when empty• The Short Edition team monitors the status of the units

remotely and can contact you if a problem persists.

A. How many stories print per roll and how o� en do you need to change the roll? • One roll will print approximately 350-450 stories and the

paper changes depend on usage rates• Alerts will be sent to you when the paper is almost finished

and again when it needs to be replaced

B. How do we order new paper and how o� en? • 12 rolls of paper per unit are delivered with the installation

of the units • The paper is specifically made to fit our Dispensers and

made with eco-friendly paper (FSC certified, BPA Free)• You may order more paper by contacting our customer

service team through the admin dashboard • Shipments are sent from our distribution center in Michigan

and the cost per roll is $30 (6 rolls per box)

C. How do you change the paper? • The back panel of the unit opens with a key where the paper

roll can be easily replaced • Upon installation Short Edition’s representative will

demonstrate this and other functions via a video call and tutorials are available on the admin dashboard

• A user manual is delivered with the Dispenser and 2 Dispenser keys

A. How do we get trained on the installation & monitoring?• Prior to delivery you’ll receive a detailed email from our

Customer Service team• Installation is as simple as sliding the unit out of the box,

installing the glass panel with hand screws, loading the paper roll, and plugging it in

• Upon delivery you will be o� ered a video call with our Customer Service team on how to change the paper, monitoring, and how to use the dashboard

B. What is included in the maintenance contract? • All parts and service are included for the first year• An optional maintenance contract is o� ered for year 2 and so

on...• Should technical di� iculties arise, we have a quick

A. What is the process of editorial selection?• We have an editorial team managing writing contests and

open submissions worldwide for short stories and poetry• Our editorial sta� selects content in terms of its literary

quality and adhesion to Short Edition’s Standards• Only the winning stories of each contest or submission

period are published on your Dispenser, a� er review from our team

A. How are stories generated from the Dispenser?

• The stories distributed from the Dispenser are generated from the catalogs you have chosen to include in your Dispenser and updates occur monthly via the so� ware

• The stories and poems are randomly printed but we can program the probability of specific content to be distributed, per your preference & thematic catalogs are available (Winter & Summer, Romance stories for Valentines, Travel, Female writers…)

• Based on your audience you can choose from our selection of catalogs

• Our stories and poems are sorted by catalog which are adapted to your audience’s interests and needs (General public, PG, PG-13, etc.) Each catalog has many di� erent genres to please all audiences

A. Is it possible to upload our own content?• In order to upload your own local content, Short Edition can equip you with a web-based submission platform, for a

development fee (visit a customer platform)

B. What are the content restrictions/regulations?• Our guidelines are short fiction (stories with a beginning and an ending, and poetry), 8000 characters maximum

including spaces

C. Can you assist us with running writing contests?• We can provide a similar, themed submission platform for running writing contests (discover a finish contest)
