Operation Indicator To prevent the ball valve from wrong operation, an open and close positioning pad has been provided. At the stem head, where the lever is fixed unto, a pad is so designed that the valve opens with the lever in parallel to piping, and when closed, with the lever perpendicular to piping. Fire-safe Design With the valve heated in an accidental fire application, the resilient sealing material might disintegrate or be damaged due to high temperature. The specially designed internal body, thus forms a metal to metal sealing with the ball thus minimizing the internal and external leakage caused by the high temperature. Blow-out Proof Stem Blow-out proof design is adopted for the stem to ensure that even if the pressure in the body cavity has risen to abnormal levels and the packing flange becomes invalid, the stem will not be blown out by the medium. The stem design features a backseat, with the sealing force greater as the medium pressure is higher. 22

Anti-static Design

Electric charge may build up due to friction between the ballbody and seat when operating the valve, thus the valve isincorporated with anti-static device to transmit electricalcharge, avoiding static sparks.

Operation IndicatorTo prevent the ball valve from wrong operation, an open and close positioning pad has been provided. At the stem head, where the lever is fixed unto, a pad is so designed that the valve opens with the lever in parallel to piping, and when closed, with the lever perpendicular to piping.

Emergency Seal Restoration

GLT Trunnion ball valves are all designed andmade with devices for grease or sealant injection,both on the stem and the seat. The sealantinjection system provides a fast and simple wayof restoring shut-off between in the event the seatsealing surface or stem is damaged in an accident.

Double Block and Bleed FunctionBall seals shut off the flow line independently on theupstream and downstream side of the ball. The valve boreand the body cavity are isolated from each other when thevalve is fully opened or closed so that residue and pressurewithin the body cavity may be disposed through the drain plug/valve. The design prevents fluid contamination withinthe valve interior and easily detects seat leakage from bothflow direction,without dismantling the valve.

Cavity Pressure Self-reliefIn the event of an unusually high increase of temperature, liquified gas or highly volatile liquidtrapped within the body cavity may cause an abnormal rise in the cavity pressure. For safety purposes, when the cavity pressure exceeds the line pressure, the medium itself would propel the seat and self-relieves the pressure from the cavity into the valve bore.

Fire-safe DesignWhen resilient sealing materials and spacers are decomposedor deteriorated by fire and high temperatures, the edge of themetal seat retainer preloaded by the seat spring comes intocontact with the ball to minimize internal leakage.

Blow-out Proof StemBlow-out proof structure is provided standard with the stemheld by the up-end cap and screwed to the body, providingextra protection for the stem not to be blown even atabnormal pressure build-up in the cavity.
