The scope of its services em- braces everything from doctor’s consultations to operations, phys- iotherapy, optometry, dentistry, pharmacy and medical aid appli- cations and enquiries. “Phase one of the Rundu Medi- cal Centre opened its doors to the public in February this year. It was a big challenge to get everything up and running, but now Rundu can boast a state-of-the-art medi- cal centre which is the only one in the Kavango,” Dr Sampie Pienaar told The Namibian. On the ground floor, known as the Rundu Medical Practice, patients will find doctors’ consul- tation rooms. They are Dr Pienaar himself, his wife, Dr Frieda Smit, and Dr FJ van Schalkwyk. The centre’s popularity has grown to such an extent that the three-partner practice is looking for a fourth member to join their medical squad. Any doctor inter- ested in applying for this position should contact Dr van Schalkwyk at the Rundu Medical Practice on 066-255 048. Riverside Pharmacy at the centre is known for quality, and the efficient and friendly service provided by pharmacist, Talia Strauss. For those who need a pair of glasses, or to have their eyes test- ed, Tobich Optics with its friendly staff will help you find the right frame for your face – whether for prescription glasses or designer sunglasses. Don’t look any fur- ther, head for Tobich Optics and see for yourself. Inbetween rushing between doctors, the pharmacy and optom- etrist, you can catch your breath with a cup of coffee, cuppaccino, latté, espresso or a milkshake at Bon’s Coffee Shop, which is on the first floor of the Centre. Own- er, Bonnie de Lange will serve you the best coffee in town, or a calming cup of tea, with delicious delicacies, breakfast or lunch. You also have the option of taking food away. After a hearty meal at Bon’s, you can drop in at the Biokinetics Centre where owner Izak Saay- man is ready to help you with en- quiries about chronic diseases and how regular exercise can decrease chances of it becoming dangerous. Other fitness issues can also be addressed and rehabilitation of injuries. The aim is to ensure the right level of health and exercise routine to meet your needs. Anna-Mart Kruger Physiother- apy, run by Samuel Maviyani, will make sure you are in good hands. Located on the first floor, this department’s popularity has resulted in them bringing on board one extra pair of hands from next year to accommodate the number of patients and clients. “Methealth Medican Aid offices conveniently located on the first floor is there for all your medical aid needs and Victor Myoba, who runs the office, along with staff, will tend to every query regarding PSEMAS, Bankmed and NMC medical schemes,” Dr Pienaar said.
