Secure your garage Help keep your home safe by covering garage windows. There is a lot about your garage you don’t want potential criminals to know about - such as whether someone is home, or if there are tools or ladders available to help break into your home. If you have an attached garage, make sure the door that connects your house to the garage is a solid core exterior door with a deadbolt lock. Sound the alarms. Consider investing in an alarm system if you don’t already have one. If you do, make sure you have a panic button feature you can easily use in the room you use as an office.

ATTENTION ALL AGENTS: 1. A man has been reported in the Columbus area who claims to be looking for a 1.8 million
dollar home (cash deal) but changes his mind to look for secluded acreage instead. He is going by the name going by the name of LTC. Christopher John McFadden or LTC. Christopher Heath. Please beware if you are contacted by this individual. The contact number he has been calling from is 404-931-4471. He has already contacted two agents in Columbus.
2. In Clayton, an agent has been contacted via email by a man out of state by the name of Raymond Jackson requesting to buy a home in that area and that he would pay with cash. The agent kept emailing the man asking him to call her on the phone. He never would, but would email and say that a check would be arriving in the mail any day. This week, check arrived in the mail for over $260,000. The agent took it to the bank and told them that she thought this was a scam. The bank looked at the cashiers check and confirmed that it was a scam.
All real estate agents are reminded to be cautious with potential clients and to adhere strictly to safety rules for real estate.

GREC Education Requirements Recap Every licensee is currently required to obtain 6 hours CE per year of licensure, which equates to 24 hours CE for a 4-year renewal period. Those licensees in their first year of licensure must take a 25-hour Post-license course and this course also serves as the 6 hours of CE needed for that first year, leaving 18 more hours of CE before renewal.
GAR Scholarship Application Process Change The GAR Scholarship application process has gone green. GAR will no longer be accepting paper applications. All applications will need to be processed online.
