Formed in 2009, TeamSnap is an ap-plication designed to take the hassle away from the management, coaching and the organization of team sports and groups – especially youth soccer teams!

At UK Elite, we understand the hard work our trainers and parent coaches do away from the field to ensure every-thing runs smoothly for you and your child on the field. The service TeamS-nap offers provides an easy solution to every day problems that take time out of a busy coach’s schedule.

With so many features it is no wonder our UK Elite trainers love TeamSnap. Coach Paul has been using TeamSnap for over a year now for his teams in our Texas region, and he loves it.

“TeamSnap has made my life as a coach so much easier,” Coach Paul raves. “Now, I can send a quick e-mail to everyone on the team through the app and check the team wall to keep

in touch with the team away from ses-sions.”

Coach Paul continued: “Through TeamSnap I can see the availability of my players ahead of games or sched-uled practice sessions. As a coach, this makes it much easier for me to plan what I am going to work on in practice or game plan for an upcoming game.”

“Team Snap is brilliant, and I am so glad we use it here in Texas.”

TeamSnap is available in both free and premium accounts. For more informa-tion and to try it for your team today just use the UK Elite link:

PARTNERSHIPINSIGHT UK Elite is very proud of the partnerships we have forged within the youth soccer industry. We are proud to welcome some new additions this fall.

UK Elite Soccer is proud to announce a new partnership with SKLZ, making the innovative equipment provider our official training partner.

SKLZ performance equipment will be used across all UK Elite Soccer pro-grams. With a mission statement in line with our own, SKLZ is a perfect fit for UK Elite. Both companies are looking to push the boundaries of sport train-ing, especially youth soccer across the United States.

Senior UK Elite coach Richie Scott has been using the equipment this summer and has been pleased with the overall quality of the equipment and function-ality of the SKLZ products.

“I have been delighted with the use of SKLZ equipment,” Scott said. “The rubber texture of their cones is great as they can be stepped on without break-ing. In addition, the bright, yellow color makes them very easy to see on any surface, helping our players distinguish field boundaries.”

“We have found that each piece of equipment from SKLZ is extremely multi-functional,” Scott continued. “The telescopic poles can be used to create hurdles, and the agility poles can be spiked into grass and also placed into the SKLZ rubber base when we train on turf.”

The ability for each piece of equip-ment to be so multi-functional allows coaches to carry less equipment but do so many more things with them. Our coaches would highly recommend SKLZ as an excellent product for any coach or teams looking to be at the forefront of soccer training.

Team UK Elite Tours Europe

Team UK Elite Westchester Donosti Cup San Sebastian, SpainThis July, over 60 UK Elite soccer players, parents and coaches set off on an unbelievable 10-day tour of Spain. The trip included visits to Barcelona and Madrid and culminated in the Basque region of San Sebastian as Team UK Elite competed in the Donosti Cup along with 440 teams from 24 different countries!

First up on the tour itinerary was a two-day visit to Barcelona, where our soccer players competed in their first game of the trip as they scrimmaged local soccer club Moline de Rei beneath the sweltering Spanish sun.

After this, players and families had time to see the sights of beautiful Barcelona. Undoubtedly, however, the highlight for the soccer players was a tour of the world famous Nou Camp Stadium, home to FC Barcelona and players such as Lionel Messi and Neymar.

With Barcelona checked off, it was on to San Sebastian and the Donosti Cup. Team UK Elite would be represented by three teams in each of the Boys 12, 13 and 14 age categories. In the evening, Team UK Elite had the privilege of being able to take part in the tournament’s opening ceremony representing America and UK Elite.

Entering the fourth day of the tour, it was finally time for the opening games of the

tournament. The B12, B13 and B14 team found themselves up against

tough local Spanish and French opposition, respectively. Ultimately, each game ended in disappointment for Team UK Elite but provided the teams with an idea of the standard

of soccer being played at the tournament this year.

At the end of the second round of group games the B12 and B14 teams had

both succumbed to defeats against two more strong local Spanish teams, however, it was all smiles for the B13 team as they managed a 4-1 victory over Sporting Herrera, a Spanish team with strong ties to La Liga side Real Sociedad.

This summer, UK Elite Soccer, in partnership with Global Team Travel, partici-pated in three international soccer tours. Competing in some of the biggest youth soccer events in Europe, players from across America joined UK Elite to test their skills and share a once in a lifetime opportunity.

After two further, more successful rounds of games, every Team UK Elite side had qualified for the playoffs and the knockout stages of the competition. The B12 side won their playoff game, 3-2, while the B14 team secured their place in the quarterfinal in the morning.Unfortunately, they lost their semifinal match later that day to Spanish third division side Euskalduna SD.

With the B13 side also bowing out, the only side left flying the UK Elite banner was the B12 team who would be playing Anorga KKE in their semifinal. It was a fantastic game with both sides playing brilliant soccer throughout, but the B12s run ended as they were defeated, 5-2.

With everyone’s participation in the Donosti Cup over there was still time for one more special trip before everyone headed back to America. The group left San Sebastian and headed to Madrid for some more spectacular sights and last but not least a tour of the Santiago Bernabeu, home of Real Madrid. It was a truly stunning way to end a special trip.

Team UK Elite 2015 Italy International CupA little way across the Mediterranean Sea, Team UK Elite took a 150-strong party to tour Italy and San Marino before playing in the Italy International Cup.

This was the 15th edition of the tournament and featured over 2,000 youth soccer players on 80 teams representing 18 different countries, a truly monumental soccer tournament. The UK Elite contingent comprised of six teams, split into four boys and two girls teams, making them the largest single group in attendance.

The first stop on the amazing journey was a trip to the San Siro stadium, the infamous home of both Milan soccer teams, and a trip around the breathtaking Piazza di Duomo. Parents and soccer players alike walked around in awe at the majesty of the Italian showpieces.

The group was fortunate enough to secure the wonderful Hotel Antares, located on the ourskirts of Verona, as their training camp base. These facilities are often used by professional clubs for preseason camps and winter training programs.

With three sessions to be held before the tournament began there was plenty of time for the expert UK Elite coaches to put their teams through their paces ahead of a busy tournament schedule. On the field, the coaches went through a mix of technical and tactical sessions to ensure individually and collectively everyone was as ready as they could be.

Away from the training session, players were able to take advantage of the stunning facilities at the hotel and also managed to take in the sights of Verona, the beautiful setting of Romeo and Juliet, along with a speedboat trip, brilliant food and plenty of gelato.

With the camp over it was time for the tournament! With each of the six teams playing a game before the opening ceremony it made for an incredibly busy opening day for everyone. With every team involved in the opening ceremony it was an experience that no one will soon forget as they paraded around a full stadium with the other participants.

Over the next two days of qualification, the teams played against opposition from Italy, Finland, Australia and Ireland. After some brilliant soccer, every Team UK Elite side successfully made it through to the next phase, with the Category C boys team going through undefeated.

Sadly, however, the success ended there with all but one Team UK Elite side being

knocked out in the later stages of the competition. The last

surviving team was the youngest of the

boys coached by Coach George.

Impressively, they made it all the way to the final and were tasked

with facing local Italian

opposition. With a partisan crowd of well

over 100 supporters, the boys were victorious, 1-0, and to

the joy of everyone in attendance, won their championship!

With the tournament over, there was still time for a trip to Rome to finish things off in style. The group took a walking tour to take in all the highlights - Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps,

Coloseum and the Pantheon. Free time was also available to allow for visits to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican museums, along with one last leisurely lunch in Piazza Navona and one last gelato!

All in all, the visit to Italy was an incredible trip of a lifetime for many.

James Roach worked with UK Elite in 2012 and is now working for English Premier League side West Ham in their foundation phase.

UK ELITE: James, talk to us about your current role.

JAMES: My current position is working for West Ham foundation phase. I work with the under 11 age group. We have 23 players on our roster and play 9v9 games.

Our players train on Tuesday and Thursday from 10-3 and have two sessions. They also train Saturday morning and then play their games on Sunday.

The role I have requires a lot of admin hours, all information from training and games having to be loaded up on the Premier League’s performance management application.

The players are of high quality, as you may be aware Reece Oxford made his Premier League debut last week against Arsenal, and only four years ago he was in the same position to the players I work with.

UK ELITE: How did you get into coach-ing?

JAMES: I originally started coaching because I had to undergo Anterior Cru-ciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction on my left knee.

I started my coaching badges in 2007 and set a target to finish my UEFA A li-cense with the English FA by 2015. I am very proud to have achieved this, but I have a lot more learning to do.

UK ELITE: Tell us about your time with UK Elite Soccer?

JAMES: I was with UK Elite in 2012, and it was an amazing year. I was based in Parsippany and was lucky to be able to coach some good high school teams and work on brilliant reisdetial camps.

UK ELITE: Favorite UK Elite memory?

JAMES: You simply have the time of your life, becoming friends with so many great people that you stay in contact with forever.

UK ELITE: Why would you recommend coaches come and work for UK Elite?

JAMES: For me there are some many great reasons to work for UK Elite.

It’s the most professional coaching company I have seen in America. The staff and coaches are all professional in everything they do.

Success Story with James RoachJoin Extra Time as we catch up with successful coaches who have gone on to achieve great things since their time with UK Elite Soccer.

Over 150 Players AttendJohn Jay FC Team Camp

Within UK Elite’s New York region, over 150 children from 18 travel teams attended the John Jay FC team training week. UK Elite has been working with John Jay FC out of Westchester, New York for two years now, and this team training week provides each team and player with a unique, intense and extensive training week before their travel season starts.

Each team camp is three hours long and features a mix of individual ball and technical work combined with team specific tactical sessions to ensure every player is being challenged and prepared for the fall season.

Coach Josh Day has been working with the club for three seasons and believes the team training weeks are a perfect way to develop players as individuals and as a team.

“We get to spend a whole week with our travel teams, which means we can spend a little more time on certain aspects of individual development that we normally do in our weekly sessions,” Day said. “Throughout the week, you can reinforce the skills you have taught the previous day and you definitely see more progression as they spend all week working with a soccer ball.”

This style of team training also allows time to be dedicated to specific areas of the game the team needs to work on. Coach Jack Toghli spent time working on team shape and working as a unit, something he believes will help his teams as they move into the season.

“I work with a girls team who will be playing 11v11 full-sided soccer this fall,” Toghli explained. “We have had some girls join the team who haven’t had exposure to this style of soccer before, so this week I was able to spend time working through each girls positioning and helping them understand the game better”

As the week progressed Toghli was able to develop cohesion in defensive and attacking units with many of the new girls and show a good understanding of what is expected of them as they move away from small

sided soccer.

It is not just on the field where a UK Elite team training week

benefits players. The extended time

spent together also builds team spirit and unity as Coach Aaron Duckmanton saw this

week.

“I train a great group of U12 boys, and this season we

are fortunate to have a few new players joining the team,” Duckmanton explained. “This week was a perfect way for them to interact with the current squad and really bond within their new team. It also provided me with an extensive look at the newer players and a chance to see them play alongside the more established players. As a coach, it was incredibly productive.”

Observing the week, it was clear that this team camp was productive and enjoyable for everyone involved and will be incredibly beneficial as the teams at John Jay FC look to hit the fall season running.

As the summer draws to a close, many UK Elite teams in the New York and Connecticut region hold team training weeks to get some much needed practice time ahead of the upcoming fall season.

Remember it’s the Players’ Game - Give It Back and Be Positive!

At UK Elite Soccer, we are incredibly proud of the work we do with thou-sands of families across the country.

Our mutual love of soccer has helped build fantastic relationships with parents and coaches, and we are con-stantly working to educate and further the development of everyone involved in the game.

Soccer is a brilliant game of decision making and discovery, a team sport that really belongs to the players on the field and not the coach on the sideline. Soccer is a unique sport which challenges players to think for them-selves and work together to achieve success as a team.

As part of our parent and coach educa-tion, we would like you to reflect back on your spring season and ask yourself: At any point did you take the game away from the players? Did you find yourself, maybe just once, shouting anything similar to this onto the field?

• Boot it, launch it!

• Kick it!

• Get it out of there!

• Shoot!

• Not backwards!

• Dribble now!

• Kick them!

• Kick it out!

• Not to your goalkeeper!

• Don’t pass to …

We can all get caught up in the heat of the game. All we ask is that you simply give the game back to the kids. Let them think and develop their skill sets through a possession based game. Allow them to play in an atmosphere that is calm and healthy. Support what your child and their team are trying to achieve in the most positive manner possible – even if the result is not go-

Furthermore challenge yourself to be that calm parent who politely and quietly asks all others to let the kids enjoy the game and the freedom to make decisions, mistakes and all. This will allow your children and everyone involved to appreciate and learn to play the game in the safest and most productive environment possible.

Everyone at UK Elite Soccer would like to thank you for your continued support and participation as we work together to ensure the growth and development of youth soccer.

Tim Bradbury is UK Elite Soccer’s Direc-tor of Coach Education, and he will regularly share his views and opinions on the state of youth soccer in America.

Residential Camp Live A Huge Hitat the University of Washington

On Aug. 9-13, UKElite.com and Extra Time were live from the fantastic University Of Washington as UK Elite Soccer hosted one of its largest Residential Camps of the summer.

Each day, UKElite.com brought followers unprecedented access to everything that goes on within the Residential Camp, both on and off the field. It was a great way to see exactly why UK Elite Residential Camps are fantastic, unique and designed for the serious soccer player.

With over 120 children in camp that week it provided UKElite.com a perfect platform to showcase all that happens during a Residential Camp from field sessions, video diaries, mealtimes and our infamous evening entertainment.

The goal for Extra Time and UKElite.com was to go out to the University of Washington in Seattle and provide a unique social experience for all UK Elite players and families.

Residential Camp Live was a five-day experience that featured a constant stream of exclusive content from the Residential Camp across all of the UK Elite social channels.

This particular Residential Camp is one of the busiest UK Elite runs during the summer, and the fantastic university facilities provided the perfect backdrop for UK Elite to document what exactly goes on at one of the many amazing Residential Camps.

Throughout the week, the UK Elite Facebook and Twitter pages were used to upload images and videos in real time from coaching sessions, as well as to post entertaining stories and highlights away from the field.

UK Elite also took to Instagram to upload pictures of kids and coaches enjoying their

week, and there was even a prize for the soccer player on camp who uploaded the best camp photo to Instagram and shared it with UK Elite

Soccer.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Residential Camp Live

was the use of Periscope, a mobile application that allowed for the live streaming of video directly from camp. This was used several times throughout

the week to allow an inside look at both technical

practices and the end of day scrimmages, a concept that

was thoroughly enjoyed by coaches and players alike. Coach Jack, who had the goalkeeper group, enjoyed the uniqueness of Periscope.

“I thought (Periscope) was a great tool to use on residential camp,” Coach Jack said. “For parents who send their kids away to a sleep away camp it’s a great way of seeing what they get up to, and everyone in my group loved the idea of having their session streamed live. It added a unique experience to the camp.”
