External Referral Award Program

Who can participate: All US individuals, with the exception of current Nielsen employees, with a valid Social Security Number or business entities with a valid Tax Identification Number can participate in our external referral award program. Current Nielsen employees should review the Internal Referral Program detailed on Nielsen’s intranet.

Positions to which the award applies: All Nielsen US-based Full-time and Part-time positions are included in the program. (Temp, Seasonal, Cyclical, Contract, and Intern positions are not covered by this program)

Who makes a qualified referral:

Referral awards are only available for candidates who are professionally and/or personally known to the referrer, and not random unknowns. Please indicate your association and duration within the text box when making the referral.

Referral awards for current employees, past employees, or interns are not applicable, if employed by Nielsen within the last eighteen months.

Anyone directly participating in our university recruitment efforts (i.e. on-campus visits, campus job postings and networking with professors and student organizations) will not be considered for the external referral award program.

Candidates already under consideration within a position do not qualify as a referral. Any referral that is bound by a non-compete or would expose The Nielsen Company to any type of

litigation or conflict of interest will not be considered for the external referral award program.

How it works:

The Referring individual must create a profile within The Nielsen Company Career Site. While at that site, they may access information about open positions and refer friends by clicking on the Refer a Friend link in the Job Opening.

Once the referred candidate applies for the position a referral connection between you and the candidate is activated for a 1 year period.

In an effort to ensure qualified candidates: o If the referral is hired in to the targeted referral position, or a similar position, within the 6

month period, the referrer will be eligible for an award. o If the referral is hired two or more band levels below the targeted referral position, no award

will be given.

Referral award amounts and payouts:

The award amount is $500.00 or $250.00 for each hired referral. See position posting for actual award. There are no maximum numbers of awards you can achieve, however upon the second award you will

be asked to complete required documentation so that a 1099 can be issued. Federal, State, and any local taxes on the award(s) are the responsibility of the recipient.

Amounts are subject to change based on business need. Awards are payable after newly hired candidates have been employed for 30 days. Referral awards are expressed in gross amounts.
