You’ll be a key leadership component of our organisation, supporting the development and implementation of our medium term financial plan and developing and implementing policies, guidance and processes that affect all financial activities and impact upon our operations and financial position. You will ensure that sound financial information is readily available and all financial systems operate effectively. You will also play a key role in the development and delivery of the Corporate Strategy from a financial standpoint. Another element of this position will be to act as Chief Finance Officer for the Authority. In this role you will ensure that the financial affairs of the Authority are properly administered and that financial regulations and instructions are observed and kept up to date. About You To be considered as our Head of Finance, you will need:

    Extensive “hands-on” experience as an accountant showing a breadth of experience across most areas of responsibility

    Depth of knowledge sufficient to act as the Authority Expert, representing the Authority in both formal and informal settings Experience of producing final account statements for a medium size organisation to tight deadlines

    Experience of operating an integrated accounting system Knowledge and understanding of CIPFA Accountancy Code of Practice Developed communication skills to help non-financial managers understand financial data The ability to lead people; inspiring and engaging employees, by clearly communicating the direction of

    travel and organisational aims Experience of developing and implementing change management programmes The willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues beyond your own area of the business to achieve the

    Corporate Strategy and Corporate KPIs To be a member of one of the Accountancy bodies covered by the Consultative Council of Accountancy

    Bodies (CCAB) A management qualification such as the Institute of Leadership & Management ILM 5 or equivalent would be beneficial to your application.
