Build Group is a bouque general contractor focused on providing a higher than usual level of service to an

exclusive clientele. Highly selecve about deploying their top er sta, the owners have deep understanding

depend on the company to act as an extension of their own organizaons. While most general contractors

are simply pricing plans, Build Group sta source new real estate opportunies and gure out creave ways

In 2007, Ross Edwards Jr. and Eric Horn founded the company aer spending nearly 25 years growing

regional construcon powerhouse Webcor. Colleagues since just aer college, the two had become majority

shareholders and senior execuves. Although they were extremely proud of their many accomplishments,

they realized that the company had grown into a large corporate organizaon and that they had become

fairly far removed from the trenches. They felt inspired to do something more entrepreneurial, which would

allow them to work more closely with their clients.

Build Group has grown consistently since its incepon. Employee owned, the company now has a total of

230 sta and revenue for 2011 is projected at $100 million.

It is my sincere pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of the Fine Line

Group (FLG). FLG was our builder for the premier West Coast location of Bliss Spa at the

newly constructed W Hotel in San Francisco.

Some of the highlights of this project included:

- 5,000 square foot tension-fighting facilities featuring a retail boutique, three-movie

-while-you wait manicure stations, eight treatment rooms, with mens and womens lounges

that adjoin outdoor escapes, a wet massage room, and heated and steam showers;

- The project was constructed within a tight schedule of eighteen weeks, and required

coordination and installation of carefully detailed, elegant European style furnishings,

custom cherry and walnut millwork and imported glass and limestone tiles from Asia

and Italy;

- The hotel remained completely operational throughout the construction of the spa,

particularly difficult with meeting rooms below and guest rooms above.

FLG worked diligently, proficiently and were highly responsive to the tasks at hand. They did

a wonderful job and we are quite pleased with the final results. In my opinion, it is one of ourbest facilities in the family of spas for the W Hotels.

In particular, we appreciated the quality of the staff assigned and were greeted with their

exceptional service, quick responsiveness, and can-do attitude. Even post-construction,

they continued to service our spa, and that speaks volumes about their client care.

FLG is an extremely capable, agile, responsive and highly professional firm that are passionate

about the resulting quality of their work as well as continuing their tradition of striving for

excellence with an uncompromising attention to detail.

ARTERRA SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Build Group was brought in as the Construcon Manager

for Arterra. The 269 unit project consisted of three

interconnected buildings: a 16 level tower, a 9 level building

and a 6 level building. The project was an urban inll site in

Mission Bay and was built on top of 160 steel H piles. The

project was San Franciscos rst LEED Silver rated high rise

residenal building. Build was instrumental in increasing the

communicaon between the Owner, the Contractor and the

Design team to facilitate clearer project informaon ow

and faster decision making.

TIMBER HILL RESORT CAZADERO, CA

This 130 acre resort was a full ground up construction project includ-ing roads, utilities and the relocation of existing buildings. The mainlodge included two massive stone replaces, heavy timber beam

ceilings, a climate controlled wine room, and a 900 square footkitchen. Other amenities included complete spa facilities, gym anda pub.

Of the 20 proposed guest cabins the Fine Line Group constructeda fully functional prototype. With a spectacular view of the foot-hills beyond, this cabin features custom nished hardwood oors,

vaulted ceilings throughout and an elegant claw foot tub.

This prototype also included a concrete and stone shower and twoDanish wood burning stoves.

VILLA FLORENCE HOTEL SAN FRANCISCO, CA

In order to maintain maximum occupancy during construction, this

seismic and renovation project was divided into three phases.

Phase 1 completed all foundation work and brace frames up toand through the 1st oor. Phase 2 started June 13th completed

the remodeling of the rooms, public areas and restaurant. Thisnal phase, an area of approximately 110,000 square feet, wascompleted in only 2 months.

This project was completed on time, enabling the Villa Florence toaccommodate guests for their critical March 15th opening.

HYATT REGENCY EMBARCADERO

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

This project involved the total remodel of the top two oors of ClubRooms and public areas. It also included the total remodel of all thesuites on all oors.

All construction was pre-scheduled and performed in phases in orderto maximize hotel occupancy and minimize disruption to the guests.

BLISS SPA @ THE HOTEL W SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Voted Conde Nast Travelers Best Hot New Spa, the rst west coastBliss Spa is located in the super-chic W Hotel in San Francisco.

The interior of this high-end spa showcases custom lounge areas,treatment rooms, showers and lobby area are simply elegant with

European style furnishings, custom mahogany and walnut millwork,imported glass and limestone tiles from Asia and Italy.

The hotel remained operational throughout the construction.

POSTRIO RESTAURANT @ THE PRESCOTT HOTEL

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

This elegant remodel included a bentwood curved ceiling, customlighting, and birds eye maple columns, and was accented with

Gilhooly glass wall sculptures.

The bar and pizza oven were redone in classic style with exposedbrick and custom copper ribbons.

Postrio was able to remain fully operational during construction.

KOKKARI RESTAURANT @ JACKSON SQUARE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Designed by the award-winning architect Howard Backen of Backen& Gillam Architects, the decor captures the feel of the European

old-world.

The commitment to excellence embodied in this restaurant placesit instantly at the forefront of Hellenic Mediterranean venues

nationally.

Major features of this signature restaurant include specially dis-

tressed hardwood foors, exposed ceiling beams, lintels, shutters,and operable windows, which provide the feel of a Mediterraneanopen air caf.

MCCORMICK & KULETOS RESTAURANT@ GHIRARDELLI SQUARE, SAN FRANCISCO, CA

This spectacular bay view restaurant was built using a full

compliment of specialty nishes, including the use of natural dark wood, all custom built lighting, rich colors and original glass work to create to embody a more traditional ambience.

The now signature restaurant also included a new public stairway to Ghirardelli Square, landscaping the adjacent park, and relighting

the Municipal Pier.
