Extended Learning Student Academic Support Summary The After School Program at each site operates under the Instructional Division’s vision of Expanded Learning. The program is viewed as a continuation

of the student’s school day. This vision requires that the ASP operates as a partner and in support of district and schools goals. In meeting this vision,

the ASP focuses on providing academic support to its students. Included are the following components:

1. Academic Enrichment and Tutorials:

a. ELA Wonders

d. Physical Fitness and Nutrition related activities (SPARK)

f. Sanford Harmony Meet Up/Buddy Up: Social and Emotional Learning 3. Homework Support: Every program includes a homework support period. During this period, staff provide support to students as they work on their homework assignments.

In addition, After School Programs throughout the district provide supplemental enrichment activities based on student interest and the hiring of quali-fied personnel. Such activities include but are not limited to: Sports: Cheer, Football, Softball, Basketball, Badminton, Baseball, and Tennis. Technology: Virtual Reality, Gaming Leagues, Digital Art, DJing, and Music Production. Dance: Folklorico, Hip Hop Dance, and Hmong Dance.
