EXT. NEW YORK CITY -- NIGHT

We see futuristic New York City. A city filled with brightlights and dark corners. People never seem to sleep, eventhough it is nearly three in the morning the city is stillalive with people. We start to focus on a darker part ofManhattan, a street that isn't lit up like the rest of thecity.

EXT. DEMON'S CORNER -- CONTINUOUS

Demon's Corner is a disgusting place. On every corner thereis a crack dealer. Down every alley there is a rape or amurder. It is the most dangerous place in all of Manhattanif not the entire world. Hookers walk the streets showingoff their merchandise to the buyers who watch them, greedily. We see a couple of boys in their mid teens walking down thestreet looking straight at the ground. They pass hookerswho try to seduce them. They pass drug dealers who are tryingto sell to them. Addicts who are begging from them forwhatever change they can spare. But the boys just look atthe ground, trying not make eye contact with anyone. Then acrack addict freaks and attacks a hooker right in front ofthe boys. He throws her against the wall and punches herover and over as she screams for help. He then throws herto the ground and gets on top of her. A pimp pulls out agun and fires two shots into the addict's head, splatteringblood all over the street. The boys, in a panic, run downthe street and turn into what they believe in an empty alley.

EXT. ALLEY -- CONTINUOUS

They lean against the wall and catch their breath trying tosettle down. They look at one another.

BOY #1(To his friend)

You okay?

Boy #2 nods. Just then another gun shot goes off and theboys run deeper into the alley. They crouch down behind adumpster and sit against a wall.

BOY #2Just our luck, huh? A block fromhome.

Boy #1 nods.

BOY #2Let's just get the fuck out of here.

Boy #1's head snaps around quickly at a noise in the alley. Boy #2 notices his friend's reaction and looks around aswell. Then from the darkness a pair of hands grab Boy #1and throw him against a wall. Boy #2 gets up only to begrabbed by a different person.

As the moonlight reveals their captors we see two men thatlook to be little past their late teens. Their skin is anextreme pale white, and their hair is a dark black. Theywear leather outfits that look way too expensive for anyonein this neighborhood to own. The first man smiles and wesee two large fangs where his incisors would be. These menare vampires. The one holding Boy #1 knocks him unconscious. They look at each other sadistically.

VAMPIRE #1Looks like we caught ourselves alate night snack.

VAMPIRE #2And they seem so young. The youngerthey are the sweeter they taste.

Vampire #1 takes Boy #1 and pushes his head off to the side. He opens his mouth and prepares to bite the boy when suddenlyhe notices a figure enter the alley out of the corner of hiseyes. He stops and turns to the figure, which standssilhouetted against the moonlight, his long leather coatflying in the wind.

VAMPIRE #1We have a visitor.

Vampire #2 looks to the alley entrance and smiles.

VAMPIRE #2The more the merrier.

The figure enters the alley and calmly walks toward theVampires.

VAMPIRE #1Make short work of him.

Vampire #2 runs toward the figure. The figure stands stilland as Vampire #2 swings a punch, the figure blocks the punchand delivers one of his own sending Vampire #2 stumblingbackwards. Vampire #1 stands up, dropping Boy #1. The figuresteps into the light and for the first time we see XAVIER. He has messy brown hair and a brown goatee. He wears a long leather trench coat and sunglasses even though it's the middleof the night.

VAMPIRE #1That was a big mistake.

Vampire #1 runs at Xavier and swings a punch. Xavier dodgesthe punch and spins behind Vampire #1. He whips out a butterfly knife and stabs Vampire #1 in the back. The Vampirescreams in pain and falls to the ground. Vampire #2 attacksXavier from behind, but Xavier dodges again and whips hisbutterfly knife around, slashing up the Vampire across theface, the chest, and the shoulder. He kneels on the Vampire'schest and brings the knife into a stabbing position.

VAMPIRE #2What the hell are you?

Xavier stabs the Vampire in the chest and twists the bladeviolently. He pulls the Vampire inches from his face.

XAVIERI am death and my name is Xavier.

Vampire #1 sees what Xavier has done and turns to run. Xavierpulls out a ninja star and throws it through the alley. Itslices into the ankle of the Vampire and he drops to theground. Xavier gets up and slowly walks toward the Vampirewho is crawling away now. Xavier towers over the Vampireand steps on his other ankle which breaks with a SNAP. Xavierreaches down and picks the Vampire up by the back of hisneck. He pulls his head within a whisper distance.

XAVIERDo you hear that?

Xavier cups his hand around his ear and listens.

XAVIERIt's the screams of the damned. You'll be hearing it a lot whereyou're going.

Xavier pulls out his butterfly knife and whips it around theVampire's face, dangerously close to his throat.

XAVIERBut hey, it's home isn't?

Xavier slices open the Vampire's throat and drops him to theground. He walks to Boy #1 and kneels over him. He checksthe boys pulse.

XAVIERJust in time.

Xavier gently taps the boys face and the boy begins to cometo. He starts at the sight of Xavier who grabs his face.

XAVIERI don't mean to hurt you.

The boy stares at Xavier in horror.

XAVIERGet your friend up and get out ofhere. Do you understand me?

The boy is too scared to understand.

XAVIERDo you understand me?!

The boy nods quickly and Xavier lets him go. The boy runsto his friend and starts to wake him. Xavier walks awayfrom them and walks deeper into the dark alley. He walks toa door at the end of the alley that leads to a Vampire Lair. There he presses a door bell, next to the doorbell is anintercom.

INTERCOMWho is it?

Xavier presses the respond button.

XAVIERDeath.

INTERCOMWho the fuck is this?

XAVIERYou have two seconds to open thedoor before I knock it down.

INTERCOMListen buddy, apparently you don'tknow who you're dealing with.

XAVIEROh I think I do.

(A beat)Two seconds are up.

INT. VAMPIRE LAIR -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier kicks open the door and enters a dark empty room. The room is lit only by moonlight giving a ghostly look tofour vampires who sit around a table, staring at Xavier witha hungry look in their eyes. Xavier pulls out a pair ofhandguns.

The Vampires leap into action attacking Xavier. Xavier fireshis guns at two, hitting them in the shoulders and knockingthem backward. He aims at the other two but they have alreadyreached him. One Vampire swings a fist at Xavier who ducksbehind the Vampire and snaps his arm. The second Vampirehisses at Xavier and swipes a hand at him catching Xavier'sshoulder. Xavier doesn't even flinch at the wound but pistolwhips the Vampire knocking him to the ground. Xavier pointsa gun in the Vampire's face and fires two shots into hishead.

Xavier looks up and the two Vampires he shot before are backon their feet and coming toward him. He fires two shots ateach of them that they dodge with lightning quick speed. They reach him and knock both his guns away. Then onedistracts him while the other grabs him from behind. Xavierback flips over his captor and punches him in the back ofthe head. The other swings a kick into Xavier's stomachwhich sends Xavier into a wall.

Xavier bounces off of the wall and back toward the Vampires. He blocks an incoming punch from one Vampire and grabs theother Vampires arm. He knees the Vampire in the stomach andthen elbows him in the face breaking his nose. He spinsaround and whips out his butterfly knife stabbing the bleedingVampire in the throat.

Xavier and the last remaining Vampire square off. They lookeach other down and circle one another. Xavier shows offhis skills with the butterfly knife to intimidate the Vampirebut the Vampire shows no fear and charges Xavier. Xaviercounters the Vampire's attack with his knife slicing throughthe wrist of the Vampire. The Vampire grabs his wound andXavier swings behind him and grabs his hair pulling his headback. He puts the knife to the throat of the Vampire.

XAVIERWhere's Black?

(A beat of silence)Where is he?!

Xavier grabs a finger of the Vampire and in an instant it issevered from the Vampire's hand. The Vampire cries out inpain and Xavier grabs him by the hair again.

XAVIERI can make this easier on you ifyou're willing to cooperate.

The Vampire is silent and stares up at the ceiling.

XAVIERI know Black is in here. Just tellme where.

Silence. It is broken by Xavier grabbing the Vampire's footand stabbing his knife into it. The Vampire screams as Xavierwriggles the knife around in the foot.

XAVIERDid you think it was a bluff? Didyou think me a liar?

Xavier pulls out the knife and once again grabs the hair ofthe Vampire.

XAVIERThis is your final warning.

The Vampire shivers in pain but doesn't say a word. Xavierflips the Vampire on it's back.

XAVIERHave it your way then.

Xavier kneels down on the thighs of the Vampire.

XAVIERThen I'm going to make sure there isone less half breed going around,raping innocent human girls.

Xavier pulls out the Vampire's belt and unzips his pants. The Vampire realizes what Xavier is doing and tries to stophim. Xavier cuts off the Vampire's defending hand in aninstant. The Vampire cries in pain.

XAVIERTry not to scream when I do this.

The Vampire snaps into a sitting position.

VAMPIRE #3NO! He's in his office.

XAVIERWhich door?

The Vampire weakly points to a door on the left side of theroom.

XAVIERThank you.

Xavier stabs the Vampire in the throat and then gets upslowly. He calmly walks to the door and listens. He knockstwice, very slowly and deliberately.

XAVIERBlack?

No response. Xavier remains with his ear against the door.

XAVIERBlack, I'm coming to kill you. Andno matter what gun you have or whattrick you've planned it won't saveyou. The best thing you can do ispoint that gun in your mouth and endit yourself.

Pause.

XAVIERHave it your way then.

Xavier steps back and places a small explosive on the door. He steps backward three steps and the door blasts open.

INT. BLACK'S ROOM -- CONTINUOUS

DORIAN BLACK is dressed in a mobster business suit. Hisoffice is very nice, it has dark red carpet and expensivedecorations.

Black, himself is standing behind his desk and has twoshotguns, one in each hand that are pointed at the door asXavier walks in. Xavier looks Black over and his expressionremains the same.

BLACKYou really thought you had me didn'tyou, Xavier? You thought I was pinnedin a corner. Well you don't knowshit, you fucking prick.

Xavier smiles.

XAVIERDespite your ingenious, Dorian, youforgot one minor detail.

BLACKYeah? What's that?

XAVIERYou're human and I am not...

Black fires his shotguns spraying a handful of bullets atXavier. Xavier dodges a handful of the bullets but threefind their way into his shoulder. Xavier after taking thebullets, looks at Black and give him a little smile. In aninstant Xavier has hopped over the desk and has his knifeinches from Black's eye.

XAVIER...Say hello to Lou, will you?

Xavier stabs the knife into Black's throat. He pulls outthe knife and calmly turns around and walks away. He walksaround the desk and pushes Black out of the way. He opensup Black's drawers and digs through the content throwingwhatever doesn't interest him on the ground. He finallypulls out a file that is entitled, "Elise Radford." He opensit up and inside is a picture of a beautiful blond womanwith other documentation. Xavier shuts the file and startsto throw it on the table, but stops and holds on to it. Hegives a general scan of the area and then walks out of theroom in his calm and cool fashion.

INT. ROOF TOP -- LATER

Xavier sits on top of a roof looking down at New York City. He is perched on the ledge and crouched like a stone gargoyle.

XAVIER (V.O.)The war has raged since the dawn oftime...

A wind picks up and blows Xavier's jacket in the night. Hetakes off the sunglasses that he's still wearing and we seethat he has one gold eye and one red eye.

XAVIER (V.O.)...Before time even existed. Beforethe Universe existed...

INT. CHURCH -- CONTINUOUS

We see people sitting the pews of the church praying. Wesee the stain glass windows depicting highlights from thebible. There is one in particular of a choir of angelsstanding before a great light.

XAVIER (V.O.)...It began when the Lord calledupon the highest and holiest of hisangels, the Seraphim...

An old man genuflects slowly alongside and pew and thengingerly starts to enter it.

XAVIER (V.O.)...The Lord asked the angels to pledgetheir allegiance to him and threedid...

We see a sculpture of Kemuel, an angel with brown hair and adark beard.

XAVIER (V.O.)...Kemuel, the angel of Joy andgatekeeper of Heaven...

We see a sculpture of Nathanael, he has long light brownhair and blue eyes.

XAVIER (V.O.)...Nathanael, the angel of Vengeanceand bringer of God's wrath...

We see a sculpture of Gabriel, she has curly blonde hairthat hangs down her back.

XAVIER (V.O.)...And Gabriel, the messenger ofGod's word...

Another stain glass of the angel Michael driving Luciferfrom heaven.

XAVIER (V.O.)...But four angels, refused the Lordand were banished from Heaven toinhabit the evils they, themselvescreated...

We focus on Lucifer, who is hidden by Michael except for hislong, pointed, black tail.

XAVIER (V.O.)...They were led by Lucifer, thefather of evil and creator of hell...

A sculpture depicts Beelzebub, a demon with a long pointedtail, two goat horns, and a long sharp tongue.

XAVIER (V.O.)...Beelzebub, the demon ofCorruption...

A sculpture of Leviathan depicts the demon as human untilhis sea serpent like head.

XAVIER (V.O.)...Leviathan, demon of water...

A sculpture depicts Asmodeus, a demon with long black hairtwo leathery wings and long pointed ears.

XAVIER...And Asmodeus, demon of lust...

EXT. ROOF TOP -- NIGHT

Xavier stands up on the ledge and slowly puts his sunglassesback on.

XAVIER (V.O.)Where does that leave me? Am I demonor angel?

We see Xavier wears a necklace with a pendant that resemblesthe holy cross mixed with the devil's star. He runs hisfingers over the necklace.

FLASHBACK: 1789

EXT. CHURCH STEPS -- NIGHT

As rain pours down we see the angel ZADKIEL talking to REMIEL. Zadkiel has long sliver hair that hangs around his shoulders,he wears a long coat with a hood over his head. Remiel hasdark brown curly hair that accents her face. She wears shortwarrior's skirt with a rapier sheathed at her side.

ZADKIELWe have reports of demons on themove in this area. You have to becareful, Remiel.

Remiel gives Zadkiel a curious look.

REMIELZadkiel? Who was it that saved youfrom the raid in Africa?

Zadkiel hesitates.

10.

REMIELAnd who was it that defeated Kobalin England?

ZADKIELRemiel, you are a powerful warriorand I have never doubted yourabilities...

Out the corner of his eye Zadkiel sees a flash of movement. He pauses to check if they are being watched, but doesn'tsee anything. Remiel watches his eyes search, concerned.

ZADKIEL...but never-the-less you must remainvigilant.

Remiel smiles.

REMIELDon't worry about me.

Zadkiel shakes his head.

ZADKIELI'll return soon.

Remiel kisses Zadkiel on the cheek.

REMIELI'll be waiting.

Zadkiel walks away leaving Remiel standing on the churchsteps. As soon as he disappears into the night she startsdescending the steps. As she walks away we see Asmodeusstanding behind her. His wings are not visible under hiscloak but we can see his long black hair and long pointedears.

ASMODEUSI've been waiting for you.

Remiel freezes where she stands. She turns in a flash andwhips a dagger at Asmodeus. He catches the dagger with hishand and drops it harmlessly to the ground.

ASMODUESWhy so rash? I have yet to state myintentions.

REMIELI have not the time to hear the wordsof Satan.

Asmodeus slowly descends down the church steps toward Remiel.

11.

ASMODEUSI thought patience was one of thevirtues of Heaven?

REMIELThe damned to not receive the courtesyof the holy.

ASMODEUSI see.

Remiel draws her rapier in an instant and sticks it toAsmodeus' throat.

REMIELThat's close enough. If you havesomething to say, say it and be gone.

Asmodues runs his finger up and down the blade while he talks.

ASMODEUSIt's not something I want to say,but rather something I want.

REMIELAnd that is?

ASMODEUSYou.

REMIELWhat?

ASMODEUS(Staring at Remiel)

I have been watching you for a longtime, Remiel. Don't think I haven'tnoticed your strength, your beauty.

Asmodeus reaches out his hand to stroke Remiel's face. Sheslaps it away and stabs the blade toward Asmodeus' throat. He knocks the blade away and steps backward.

ASMODEUSYou see! That's the spirit I'mtalking about. It's that fire inyou that has drawn me to you.

REMIELLeave me alone.

Asmodeus slowly walks toward Remiel.

ASMODEUSI can't do that.

Remiel steps backward away from Asmodeus.

REMIELGet away from me!

ASMODEUSYou can't run, Remiel.

Remiel strikes at Asmodeus with her rapier. He catches thesword in his hands and pulls it away from her. He bends itin half and throws it away. Remiel turns and runs away intothe streets. Asmodeus waits for a few minutes and then hiswings rip through his cloak and spread wide. He flaps hisgreat wings and takes flight.

EXT. STREET -- CONTINUOUS

Remiel runs through the streets as fast as she can. Sheducks into an alley.


Remiel leans against the wall of a house catching her breath. Asmodeus lands behind her, causing her to start. She triesto run but he grabs her by her cloak and throws her deeperinto the dark alley. She gets up and readies herself tofight. Asmodeus smiles and charges her.

Remiel tries to trip Asmodeus up but he jumps over her legand swings a punch at her. Remiel ducks and back flips tryingto give herself more distance. Asmodeus grabs a box andthrows it at Remiel. She ducks and the box shatters in thestreet behind her. Asmodeus charges toward her and swings apunch at her. It connects to her jaw and sends her into thewall. She drops to the ground and he tries to step on herchest. She rolls out of the way and somersaults back to herfeet. She delivers a series of punches to Asmodeus' chestsending him stumbling backward. He pauses and smiles ather. Remiel readies herself for another attack. Asmoduesruns at Remiel and swings a punch at her but she ducks underit. She kicks him in the shin and propels herself into theair. While in the air she lands a kick under Asmodues' jawand lands back on her feet. Asmodues spits out blood andthen tries to backhand Remiel. She blocks it and then blocksone of his punches. Asmodues delivers a head butt to Remieland then knees her in the stomach. She stumbles back andthen Asmodeus trips her onto her back. Remiel falls to herback with the wind knocked out of her and Asmodeus stratelsher. He gets in her face and blows his hot breath on her. She struggles to get him off of her but he grabs her wristsand pins them to the ground.

REMIELGet off of me!

ASMODEUSYou're so delicate, so beautiful.

Remiel thrashes under Asmodeus who looks at her lustfully.

13.

REMIELNo! Please! Please!

ASMODEUSI won't be long. Brace yourself,this may hurt.

Remiel screams.

EXT. STREET -- LATER

A BEGGAR with a scraggly beard and rags for clothes sits onthe streets holding out a cup, hoping for the generosity ofpeople.

BEGGARPenny for the poor? Penny for thepoor?

A GUARD with a stern look on his face stands over the beggar.

GUARDGet out here, filth...

Beggar looks at the ground and pretends not to hear the guard.

GUARD...I said get out of here.

Guard strikes beggar across the face. The beggar cringes inpain and the guard kicks him the side. The beggar crawlsinto the alley and huddles up against the wall.


He looks down the alley and sees the naked body of Remiellying in the alley. He crawls toward her and examines her. Her clothes lay around her in shards, but besides that sheis unharmed. He lays a hand on her and then looks to theend of the alley. There stands Zadkiel dressed in a whiterobe, staring at the still body of Remiel. He walks downthe alley to where the beggar is huddled over Remiel. Thebeggar crosses himself and stares in wonder at Zadkiel. Zadkiel kneels over Remiel, a tear runs down his face.

BEGGARWhat has happened to her?

Zadkiel looks at the beggar.

ZADKIELI can not say...

The beggar backs away from Remiel.

ZADKIEL...Take heart. She is strong.

14.

The beggar points to Remiel's wrist. Zadkiel slowly picksup her right writs and sees that Asmodeus has marked herwrist with his symbol. Zadkiel closes his eyes and slowlylifts Remiel's body up. He walks away from the beggar andvanishes in a bright light. Leaving the beggar alone in thealley.

BLACKOUT

ZADKIEL (V.O.)She has fought for us since thebeginning. Always showing her valor,her loyalty.

GABRIEL (V.O.)She bears an unholy child.

ZADKIEL (V.O.)How can we say that? This childcould be a gift.

GABRIEL (V.O.)It could be our undoing. We can notallow this child to be born.

ZADKIEL (V.O.)You're going to kill her?

GABRIEL (V.O.)We'll do what we must.

EXT. STREET -- MORNING

Remiel is huddled on the street two months pregnant.

GABRIEL (V.O.)She is hereby exiled from Heaven. To live as a mortal on Earth.

Remiel sees an apple fall off a food cart and hurries intothe street to get it. Zadkiel watches her from afar.

EXT. CHURCH -- NIGHT

Remiel, now four months pregnant, kneels before the alterpraying. Zadkiel hangs in the back of the church watchingher pray.

EXT. GRAVEYARD -- NIGHT

Remiel, six months pregnant, lies in the graveyard trying tosleep. Zadkiel approaches her and kneels down next to her. He nudges her awake and hands her a loaf of bread and a bowlof water which she takes and devours, hungrily.

15.

EXT. STREET -- NIGHT

Remiel, nine months pregnant, pounds on the door of a midwifetrying to get them to open the door.

REMIELPlease, I beg of you!

The window above opens and the midwife pokes her head out.

MIDWIFELeave us! Get out of here!

Remiel continues to pound on the door.

REMIELPlease! I need you help!

INT. MIDWIFE'S BEDROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Midwife leans out the window shouting down at Remiel.

MIDWIFEI told you to leave! If you can'tpay, then I CAN'T help you!

Zadkiel approaches the midwife from behind.

ZADKIELOpen the door.

Midwife starts and turns around quickly to see who is standingin the room. Zadkiel reveals his angel form to her causinga bright light and shaking the room.

MIDWIFEWhat are you?

ZADKIELI am an angel of the Lord, and Icommand you to open your door!

The Midwife runs past Zadkiel.

INT. BEDROOM -- LATER

Remiel gives birth to Xavier as the Midwife helps her. Remielscreams in pain and suffering, in the background Zadkielwatches calmly. The Midwife slowly lifts Xavier shows himto Remiel.

MIDWIFEIt's a boy.

Remiel breathes heavily and strokes the face of Xavier.

REMIELXavier...his name is Xavier.

Remiel's breath gives out and she dies. Zadkiel slowly stepstoward the Midwife. He reaches out his arms and she giveshim the baby. Zadkiel looks Xavier over.

ZADKIELThen he will be known as Xavier.

BACK TO SCENE

EXT. ROOF TOP -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier stares out across the night. He slowly get to hisfeet, we see Raphael is now standing behind him.

RAPHAELYou killed Black tonight?

Xavier continues to stare out over the city.

XAVIERWord travels fast.

RAPHAELWhen are you going to stop wastingyou time with pathetic Vampires andput your skills to better use.

Xavier pulls out a cigarette and lights it up.

XAVIERWhat you mean is, when am I going tohelp your side out a little more.

RAPHAELThat's not what I-

XAVIERBut it's what you meant.

Raphael shifts his weight.

XAVIERI don't kill because it helps youRaphael. I kill because it helpsothers.

Xavier turns around.

XAVIERA concept I thought you'd be familiarwith.

Raphael sneers at Xavier.

RAPHAELDon't lecture me, Xavier. I knowwhat side I stand on.

Xavier takes a drag of the cigarette and exhales the smoke.

XAVIERThen act like it.

Raphael glares at Xavier. He walks toward the ledge of thebuilding.

RAPHAELGeorge Radcliff would like to seeyou.

XAVIERWouldn't have something to do withhis daughter's disappearance, wouldit?

RAPHAELYou'll have to ask him when you getthere.

XAVIERYou know what I like about youRaphael? How straightforward youalways are with me.

RAPHAELXavier, I don't have time to wastewith you.

Xavier scoffs and flicks ash off of his cigarette.

XAVIERYou never did, Raphael.

Raphael hesitates about what to say.

RAPHAELYou've been given a gift, Xavier. Sometimes these gifts require a bitof sacrifice.

XAVIERMy, gift is eternal damnation. Notby my choosing, but by my birthright.

(A beat.)I am to fight for a kingdom I willnever see? I world in which I cannotlive? Forgive me if I don't wish tofight for a life I cannot partakein.

RAPHAELSo you'll fight for evil?

XAVIERI will fight for man.

(MORE)

XAVIER (CONT'D)You're always worried about winningthe war you never think of thecivilians, the civilians you created.

RAPHAELWe fight to bring them to a betterlife.

XAVIERNo, you fight for your own personalgain. Just like you always have.

Raphael steps toward Xavier.

RAPHAELWatch your tongue half-breed.

Xavier laughs.

XAVIERYou plan on killing me Raphael? Isthat why you found me up here?...

Xavier takes a drag of his cigarette.

XAVIER...But I guess it doesn't matter inthe end, does it?

VIVIAN WINTERS walks through the disgustingly dark halls ofa Vampire dungeon. Vivian is a vampire, with pale whiteskin and long, silky, black hair. She moves with a beautyand elegance that is supernatural. Two GUARDS follow Vivianon either side. EDWARD BLACK hurries to meet Vivian.

Vivian doesn't slow down from Edward but notes his presence.

Edward hurries to her side and opens a manilla folder thathe has been carrying.

The two guards see Vivian and stop. Elise heaves breath inand out as she hangs. Vivian steps in front of her.

Vivian turns to the vampire guards.

The guards exchange looks.

A group of vampires sit in the back room playing cards. They sip blood mixed with wine out of wine glasses.

A knock on the door causes them to stop for a second. Onegets up and walks to the door.

The Vampire opens a peep hole in the door and looks through. No sooner he does and a gunshot blasts through the peep holeand into his brain.

INT. ELISE'S CELL -- CONTINUOUS

Vivian is right in Elise's face.

VIVIANWhat are you looking for Elfprincess?...

Elise looks away from Vivian. Vivian waits a beat and thenback hands Elise across the face.

VIVIAN...Answer me...

Elise remains silent. Edward watches through the bars ofthe cell.

VIVIAN...Who is this Kalin Drat?

A beat of silence. Elise finally looks up into Vivian'scold dark eyes.

A GUARD sits on a table reading a book. There is knock onthe door and the guard pulls out a gun. He walks to thedoor and listens through to the other side. The door issuddenly kicked in and Xavier enters. The guard backs awayfrom him but knows that it is too late. Xavier steps on theguard's chest and pulls out his butterfly knife.

INT. ELISE'S CELL -- CONTINUOUS

The guard grabs Elise by the hair and holds her head backexposing her neck.

VAMPIRE GUARDLet's eat her. She smells so sweet.

Vivian smacks the guard's hand away from Elise.

VIVIANNo. She needs to live for now. Until Asmodeus gets here.

GUARDHe's coming here?

VIVIANWe want to make sure this littlejewel isn't found. Asmodeus will beescorting her some place...more outof the way.

EDWARDThe elves will be furious.

VIVIANI'm not worried. It won't mattermuch longer...

Vivian turns around to face Edward.

The door to the dungeon is kicked open and Xavier enters.

In an instant Xavier has two combat knives in the air andone sticking into the face of the guard, the other in theface of Edward. The guard lets go of Elise and writhes inpain. Vivian stares in shock at what just happened.

XAVIERI'll make the threats here, MissWinters.

Vivian backs away from Xavier.

VIVIANYou stay away from me.

Xavier pulls out his handgun and checks to make sure thatit's loaded.

XAVIERNow why would I do a thing like that,Miss Winters.

VIVIANXavier, please.

Xavier points the gun at Vivian and thinks about it for asecond. Then he holsters the gun and walks to Elise.

XAVIERElise Radcliff?

ELISEXavier.

XAVIERMy reputation proceeds me. Are youhurt?

ELISEI'll live.

XAVIERWe have to get you out of here.

Elise nods and Xavier turns to lead her out of the dungeon. It is then that Vivian springs into action and leaps atXavier's shoulder, he teeth bared, ready to bite. Xaviercasually turns around and sticks the gun in her mouth. Hepulls the trigger and blasts her brains out the back of herhead. Elise starts, she stares as the lifeless body of Viviantumbles to the ground. Xavier takes Elise's arm firmly andgets her attention.

XAVIERWe have to go.

Elise nods and follows Xavier.

ELISEMy father sent you?

XAVIERWe don't have the luxury for aconversation right now.

FOOTSTEPS start echoing throughout the halls of the dungeon. Elise looks around the dungeon walls.

ELISEHow many?

XAVIERToo many to kill.

Xavier breaks into a quick walk as he darts through the mazeof hallways in the dungeons. Elise follows as fast as shecan. Xavier slows down and starts whispering to himself.

ELISEWhat are you doing?

Xavier ignores her. The FOOTSTEPS begin to get louder andlouder. Elise looks over her shoulder, looking for the sourceof the sounds.

Xavier pulls out a small remote mine and places against theceiling of the dungeon. He steps back and with one arm gentlyforces Elise back too. He presses the mine and a blast makesa small hole in the roof. Xavier looks at Elise.

XAVIER...Can you jump?

Elise nods and leaps out of the dungeon into the bathroom ofthe nightclub.

INT. BATHROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier follows Elise into the bathroom and takes her by thearm.

XAVIERNow we just have make ourinconspicuous exit.

As they exit two guys who were using the urinal stare in aweat Elise and Xavier as they walk out of the bathroom. Theylook at each other and shake their heads.

EXT. RUN DOWN NIGHT CLUB -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier is leading Elise down the stairs out of the nightclub.

Xavier walks out into the street and a car screeches to astop nearly hitting him.

DRIVER (O.S.)Are you outta your fucking mind?

Xavier walks toward the driver's side door. The DRIVER abalding, chubby man locks the doors and starts to driveforward. Xavier smashes his fist through the window andholds the car backward by the door frame. The driver startsto become scared. Xavier unlocks the door and opens it.

The driver gets out of the car.

Xavier gets in the car and unlocks the passenger door. Elisegets in reluctantly. Xavier leans out the window.

Xavier pulls away and no sooner then he does, a group ofvampires come out of the club and look over the streets,searching for Elise and Xavier.

INT. XAVIER'S CAR -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier drives staring straight ahead, Elise looks him over.

Xavier sits in a leather chair a cigarette in his hand stillsmoking. He looks around the room at all the newspaperclippings and awards that Radcliff has in his office. Hesees a rosary sitting on the desk and picks it up. He swaysthe figure of Christ on the cross back and forth and watchesit.

Xavier grits his teeth and stares at the crucifix. His handsbegin shaking with fury. Finally, he drops the cross backon the desk.

The door opens and Radcliff enters, he is trying to controlhis excitement, but not doing well. He shuts the door behindhim and sits down in his desk. He extends his hand towardXavier.

Xavier waves the hand away and takes a drag of his cigarette.

Xavier pounds a pack of cigarettes as he reads a book thatsits in his lap. He tears the packaging off and opens thepack up. He is about to light the cigarette when a stewardesscomes by.

STEWARDESSSir?

Xavier looks at her. The stewardess draws Xavier's attentionto the no smoking sign. Xavier sighs and stuffs thecigarettes back into his coat pocket. He resumes readinghis book. Elise watches him from across the aisle.

XAVIERYou're making me uncomfortable.

ELISEReally?

XAVIERYes...

Elise continues to stare.

XAVIER...Did you need something?

ELISEHave you fought demons before?

XAVIERYes.

ELISEYou've killed them?

Xavier gives her a curious glance.

INT. AIRPORT -- LATER

CALEB and MALLICON sit at a table in a coffee shop. Calebhas short blond hair, and a very boyish look to him. Malliconhas curly black hair that swirls around his face.

CALEBThey should be here by now.

MALLICONGive them a little longer.

CALEBThe Radcliff girl is dangerous, thereis no telling what she's got us into.

MALLICONWhatever it is, we have our orders.

CALEBYeah.

MALLICONYou seem uptight.

CALEBI have a bad feeling, Mallicon.

Mallicon gives Caleb a small smile. He pats Caleb on theshoulder.

MALLICONDon't worry. Apparently they'resending over the half-breed.

CALEBDoes that make you feel any better?

Mallicon looks over Caleb's shoulder and sees Xavier andElise approaching them.

MALLICONI don't know...

Mallicon stands up and extends his arms toward Elise.

Elise embraces him.

Mallicon gestures to Caleb.

Caleb stands.

Caleb and Elise shake hands.

Xavier nods. Caleb and Mallicon exchange looks.

They start walking through the airport.

MALLICONYes we did. And we asked about yourSorcerer, Kalin Drat, but the ordersaid he has been gone for some time.

ELISEDid they say where?

MALLICONThey said he had taken to hiding inthe bowels of London, but they didn'tspecify where.

ELISEWell, let's check into our hotel andregroup there.

INT. HOTEL ROOM -- LATER

Mallicon, Elise, Xavier, and Caleb sit around a table withonly a light on above their heads.

CALEBIt's impossible to try and find himin London.

MALLICONCaleb is right, Elise. It's goingto be hard to track him in a citylike London.

ELISEWe have to try, Mallicon. We needto find him.

CALEBWhat is it about this Sorcerer?

ELISEHe had the key to this portal. Heknew where it was.

CALEBNo one knows where it is?

INT. THE CHURCH OF THE THIRD EYE -- DAY

Xavier enters the church, followed by Elise, Mallicon, andCaleb, and looks around. Their are monks praying and peoplegoing about their holy duties. Xavier walks up to a monklighting a candle.

XAVIERI'm looking for the leader of TheThird Eye.

The monk continues lighting candles without paying Xavierany heed.

MONKYou best be someone of greatimportance then.

Xavier takes off his sunglasses and as the monk turns aroundhe starts at the sight of Xavier.

XAVIERI am the cursed bearer of the twoblood lines. Does that bear anyimportance?

MONKAbomination.

Xavier whips out his butterfly knife.

XAVIERA very violent abomination, brother.

Elise gently pushes Xavier's hand down and approaches themonk.

ELISEWe mean you no harm. We just needinformation.

Her eyes glow gold for a second revealing her eleven blood. The monk nods.

MONKFollow me.

The monk leads them through the church. As they start tomove Elise gives Xavier a satisfied look.

Xavier pockets his butterfly knife and follows.

INT. HALLWAYS OF THE CHURCH -- CONTINUOUS

The monk pauses at the door and knocks. We hear the voiceof FATHER MICHAELS, a deep and gating voice.

FATHER MICHAELSCome in.

The monk opens the door and leads the party into the room. Elise leads them into the room.

INT. FATHER MICHAELS' OFFICE -- CONTINUOUS

Father Michaels stands up.

FATHER MICHAELSWhat's this all about?

XAVIERTake a seat father, we just need totalk.

Father Michaels looks to Mallicon and notices his goldeneyes.

FATHER MICHAELSDivine entities?

XAVIERFor the most part.

FATHER MICHAELSWhat do you want?

ELISEWe're searching for the sorcererKalin. We have reason to believeyou saw him last.

FATHER MICHAELSYou're looking for Kalin Drat?

MALLICONI believe that's what she just said.

FATHER MICHAELSI haven't seen him for weeks. Wefeared he was dead.

XAVIERWhat's to say he isn't?

Father Michaels sits down and shakes his head.

FATHER MICHAELSI couldn't tell you. The last timeI talked to him, he was scared outof his mind. He went into hidingsomewhere in London. He didn't tellany of us where or why.

CALEBHe didn't leave any sign?

FATHER MICHAELSNone at all...

Xavier pulls out his cigarettes.

FATHER MICHAELS...Not in here please.

Xavier begrudgingly puts them away.

ELISEHe must have told someone.

FATHER MICHAELSI don't know, maybe his god son. Kalin was very fond of him. He liveswith his uncle somewhere in country.

XAVIERA name would be helpful.

EXT. THE SUMMER'S ESTATE -- NIGHT

A black Lexus pulls into the Summer's driveway. Xavier,Caleb, Mallicon, and Elise all get out and walk to the door.

CALEBYou just plan on ringing the doorbell?

XAVIERWhy not?

Caleb shakes his head. Elise gets to the door and knocks. She looks at Xavier.

ELISELet's try and not threaten anyonehere.

XAVIERWhy not? It adds a little color tothe conversation.

Elise rolls her eyes.

ELISEJust try to keep your knife in yourpocket.

Xavier puts up his hands to show he will. The door opensand a butler stands in the doorway.

BUTLERMay I help you?

ELISEWe're looking for Jonathan Summers.

BUTLERDo you have an appointment?

Xavier shakes his head and sighs heavily.

ELISENo, but...

BUTLERWho are you?

MALLICONDivine servants.

Mallicon shows his eyes and the butler looks confused.

BUTLERDivine what?

Xavier enters the house.

INT. ENTRY HALL -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier looks around the entry way.

XAVIERI don't have time for this.

BUTLERExcuse me?

XAVIERHold your tongue servant or I'll cutit out.

The butler is taken back as Xavier starts moving through thehalls. Xavier runs up a grand stair case.

ELISEXavier!

INT. HALLWAY -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier moves through the hallway listening at every door. Suddenly, he stops as something catches his ear. He listensclosely at a door. He then steps back a couple paces andthrows it open. JONATHAN'S UNCLE, a stout man who is baldingwith a mustache, fires a colt 45. into Xavier's thigh. Xavierwinces a little and then takes the gun away from the Uncle. Xavier chucks it into the hallway.

XAVIERWhere's Jonathan?

JONATHAN'S UNCLELeave us alone.

Xavier starts to turn away and then pauses again. He canhear someone breathing in the closet. He pushes pastJonathan's Uncle and limps into the room.

INT. JONATHAN'S BEDROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier walks to the far side of the room and throws open thecloset.

JONATHAN hides in the closet curled up trying to be still. He is in his mid teens and has shaggy brown hair. He wearsa white t-shirt and jeans. He sees Xavier and pulls out amagnum that he's been hiding. Xavier knocks it away beforeJonathan could aim it.

XAVIERI mean you no harm.

Jonathan stares at him in fear. He doesn't say anything anddoesn't move an inch. Elise enters the room and observesthe situation.

ELISEXavier.

Xavier looks up at Elise.

XAVIERI found the kid.

Elise runs past the uncle who still sits on the floor whereXavier pushed him over. Mallicon and Caleb enter the room. Elise kneels down in front of Jonathan.

ELISEDon't fear us. We're of the Lord...

Jonathan doesn't look convinced. He looks past Elise to hisuncle. Elise turns his eyes to her.

ELISE...You must trust us.

Elise's eyes glow gold and Jonathan nods. Elise offers hima hand up and Jonathan takes it.

JONATHAN'S UNCLEWhat do you want with him?

MALLICONHe knows something of greatimportance. We need to know abouthis god father's work.

Jonathan's Uncle gets to his feet and steps between Jonathanand the doorway.

JONATHAN'S UNCLEI won't let you take him. We'regoing to hiding. I won't have himfollow the footsteps of his godfather.

Xavier pulls out his gun.

XAVIERI really would hate to kill you.

MALLICONXavier!

Xavier looks at Mallicon who glares back at him. There is atense moment of silence. Caleb begins sensing something.

CALEBDemons...

This attracts everyone's attention. Caleb's eyes grow widein surprise.

CALEB...GET DOWN!

The windows bust open and two demons enter the room. Theyhave black skin and dark red wings, they stand on two legsand look human except for two large horn that protrude outof either side of their head and a long tail. Xavier turnsin an instant and fires two shots into both demons who barelyreact. Xavier stands up and takes out his butterfly knife. Mallicon steps to his side.

XAVIERGet the boy and the uncle out ofhere. We'll handle the uninvitedcompany.

Everyone hurries out of the room leaving Xavier, Mallicon,and the two demons. Mallicon draws a gladius and approachesDemon #1. The demons leap in the air and Mallicon dodgesthe first one's attack. Xavier is hit and falls to his back,then immediately back flips to his feet.


Jonathan, his Uncle, Elise, and Caleb run down the hallway. Caleb stops and draws out a shotgun with a bayonet on it.

ELISEWhat are you doing?

CALEBThere's gonna be trouble soon...

A vampire rips through a wall and tackles Jonathan's Uncle.

CALEB...Like that...

Caleb blasts his shotgun into the side of the vampire causingit to roll off Jonathan's Uncle.

CALEB...Stay with the boy. I'll handlethis.

Elise hurries past the vampire and continues on with Jonathanwho gets his uncle to his feet so he can follow them. Calebstands over the Vampire and fires another shotgun blast intoit's head.


Xavier has one of the demons on it's back and stabs hisbutterfly knife down at it. The demon rolls out of the wayand springs back to it's feet. It slashes Xavier across theface with one of it's clawed hands and the punches him inthe gut. It swings a punch at his face but Xavier blocks itand head butts the demon.

Mallicon swings his gladius at his demon over and over andit continues to dodge till finally it uses it's tail to tripMallicon on his back. The demon slashes down at Malliconwho blocks with his sword and leaves a slash on the demon'sarm.

Xavier throws the demon on it's back and kicks it in theside. He kneels down and punches it in the face. He triesto punch it again but the demon catches the punch and digsit's claws into his hands. Xavier cries in pain and punchesthe demon with the other hand. The demon kicks Xavier offand Xavier lands next to his butterfly knife. The demonrushes toward Xavier and Xavier uses the knife to slash thedemon's face. The demon retracts in pain.

Caleb continues to blast vampires as he works his way downthe hall. He's so fast it's almost as if he knows where thevampires will be before they're even there.


Elise gets to the entry hall and throws open the door tosee, ASTARTE. She has long black hair that is in dreadlocksand pale white skin. Her eyes are a fiery red and she wearsrevealing black armor. Elise steps back and pulls out ahandgun.

ASTARTEOh please.

Elise fires a shot into Astarte who doesn't even flinch. She yanks the gun away from Elise and breaks it in two. Elise continues to back away keeping herself between Jonathanand Astarte. A demon leaps from a balcony and grabsJonathan's uncle and leaps away. Jonathan's uncle screamsas the demon bites into him and rips out a chuck on his flesh.

ELISE(To Jonathan)

Stay close to me.


Mallicon is punched in the face twice by the demon and thenslashed across the face. Mallicon falls to the ground andis stunned for a moment. The demon raises his claw to comedown for the killing blow, but before it can be deliveredMallicon has gotten back on his feet and stabbed the demonin the stomach.

Xavier grabs the demon by the throat and holds it in theair. The demon kicks and grabs onto Xavier's arm. Xaviercontinues to choke the demon. The demon then digs it's clawsinto Xavier's arm but Xavier still doesn't flinch. Insteadhe raises his gun and shoots the demon's hands off of hisarm. Mallicon's sword stabs through the back of the demonand Xavier casually throws the body off to the side.

XAVIERYou're no fun.


Astarte is standing right in front of Elise now.

ASTARTEIt's not worth it elf. Surrenderthe child and you'll remain unharmed.

ELISEI'm not scared to die.

ASTARTEYou will be once you've seen my work.

Elise doesn't say anything but in an instant backhands Astarteacross the face. Astarte is barely fazed and smiles at Elise.

ASTARTEBrave...but futile...

Astarte grabs Elise's hand and twists it, she the grabsElise's face and squishes her cheeks.

ASTARTE...You divine are so ugly.

Caleb leaps from the grand staircase and in between Astarteand Elise. He stabs Astarte with the bayonet on the shotgunand fires it from inches away. Astarte goes flying backward. The handful of demons in the room launch at Jonathan andElise. But a gladius whips through the air and stabs throughthe head of one of the demons. Xavier jumps down and takesa demon with him. He lands and stabs the demon in the chest. Mallicon tackles another demon to the ground and Xavier sendsa knife flying across the room into another demon's head. Caleb fends off another and Xavier tackles it from behindand snaps it's neck.

MALLICONXavier, the sword.

Xavier takes Mallicon's sword from the floor and tosses itto the angel who uses it to stab a demon behind him in thestomach.

Xavier looks to the door to see Astarte slowly walking back,badly wounded from the shotgun blast she took. She smilesat Xavier.

ASTARTEThis is a surprise.

XAVIERIsn't it?

ASTARTEHand over the child, Xavier.

XAVIERSorry he's not for sale.

ASTARTEWhy would you hold loyalty to thesedivine beings?

XAVIERMy allegiance is not your concern.

ASTARTEVery well, I'll just have to killyou then.

XAVIERGood luck...

Astarte draws a long bladed whips and smacks it against theground menacingly. Xavier pulls his butterfly knife out ofthe head of the demon next to him. Mallicon steps to hisside.

XAVIER...I hope you're good with that sword.

MALLICONI hope you can do more with thatknife then flip it around.

Astarte runs at Xavier and Mallicon letting loose her whip. It catches Xavier around the leg and as she pulls it awayXavier's leg goes limp and he goes to one of his knees. Mallicon charges Astarte who whips him across the face leavinga long gash. Xavier gets to his feet and charges Astarte. She whips at him but he rolls under the attack and then blocksher second attack with his knife. He springs to his feet infront of her and stabs her with the knife in the stomach. She pushes him back and checks her wound. She is taken backby the blood that is pouring out of her body and looks atXavier. He flips his knife around and then charges her again. She dodges this knife attack and punches Xavier in thestomach. She brings the whip across his back and then kneeshim in the groin. Mallicon leaps behind Astarte and slashesthe back of her knees causing her to fall down Xavier crawlson top of her and stabs his knife down through her wrist sothat it is pinned in the ground. Astarte uses her other toreach over for her whip but Mallicon stabs her in the face. Mallicon offers Xavier a hand and Xavier takes it. Malliconbrings Xavier to his feet and pats him on the shoulder. Theboth of them have gash wounds on their face, Xavier has twoon his leg and another on his back.

XAVIERStupid bitch....

Xavier spits on Astarte's corpse. He picks up her bladedwhip and looks it over.

XAVIER...Creative though.

Mallicon wipes the blood off of his gladius and looks atElise who is tending to Caleb's wounds. She pours holy wateron them and they instantly seal back up. Xavier pulls out acigarette and lights it up. Elise runs to his side.

ELISEHere let me heal you...

Elise drips holy water onto Xavier's wound. The water HISSESat it hits the skin and burns Xavier who cries out in painand stamps the floor cracking the tiles.

ELISE...Oh I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Iforgot.

Xavier gets a hold of himself and calms down.

XAVIERIt's okay. Don't worry about it.

Elise turns to Mallicon and starts healing him. Xavier looksaround for Jonathan and finds him kneeling over the body ofhis uncle. Xavier averts his eyes.

XAVIERElise?...

Elise looks up at Xavier.

XAVIER...Tend to the kid first.

Elise realizes what Xavier is talking about and rushes toJonathan's side. She takes him in her arms and he breaksdown in them. Xavier turns away unable to watch anymore. He gives Mallicon a nod and then walks out of house.

INT. HOTEL ROOM -- LATER

Elise brings Jonathan a cup of coffee. Jonathan sits up inone of the beds and holds the cup. He sips from it a littleand wipes the remnants of tears from his eyes.

ELISEWere you close to your Uncle?...

Jonathan nods and hands the cup of coffee back to Elise.

ELISE...Don't like it?

JONATHANNo...

Elise walks to the sink in the bathroom and pours the coffeeout of the cup. Jonathan stares out the window into thenight.

JONATHAN...They'll come for me again won'tthey?

Elise walks out from the bathroom and sighs.

JONATHANMore of them?

ELISEMaybe.

JONATHANThat was what my Uncle was scaredof. All those months when he was inhiding...

ELISEWhat did your uncle tell you when heleft?

Jonathan looks at Elise quizzically.

JONATHANNothing really. Just talked abouthow he wasn't safe in public anymore. He had been acting really weird forsome time so I didn't think much ofit. I mean...Kalin was always alittle...off. But, recently he hadbecome obsessed with his research. He said that he had stumbled onsomething huge. I don't know. Inever really understood what it washe did.

ELISEDid he mention anything about hishuge discovery?

JONATHANFor a while it was like a brokenrecord. All he'd say is that it wasperfect and that he'd found it. Then one day he told me that he hadto go into hiding because if he didn'tthey would find him and kill him. He didn't tell me who they were. But he also gave me this.

Jonathan takes off a necklace and hands it to Elise. Elisetakes it and looks at it. The necklace is simply a metalchain with a gold triangle at the end.

ELISEDid he tell you what it meant?

JONATHANHe said that the right people wouldknow it. I don't know who they wouldbe, but maybe you do.

Elise looks the necklace over and shakes her head. She getsup from the bed and walks out of the room. She gets to thedoor and turns around.

ELISEYour safe here Jonathan. Sleep welltonight.

Jonathan smiles a little and nods.

EXT. HOTEL -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier is smoking outside looking out across the way at alocal bar. People walk in and out, some drunk, some sober. Caleb walks to Xavier's side and leans against the hotel.

CALEBJealous?

XAVIERA little.

CALEBI understand.

XAVIER(Laughs)

No, I don't think you do...

Xavier puts out his cigarette.

XAVIER...Thanks for giving it a trythough....

Caleb gives a little nod. They stand there in silence for amoment.

XAVIER...You can feel them can't you? Thedemons.

CALEBNot just demons. I can feel allother worldly creatures. Vampires,Witches, Angels, Demons.

XAVIERCan you tell which is which?

CALEBSometimes. They have slightlydifferent feelings.

Xavier doesn't say anything at first. A Caleb takes his cueto leave.

CALEBThe war's been in my family forgenerations. There was never a shockof realization because I thoughteveryone knew. Then one day, Istarted talking about it. I talkedabout how my father was off in Asiafighting demons and my second gradeclass just laughed at me. Then ithit me. They didn't know. They hadno clue what was happening aroundthem.

XAVIERMaybe they're the lucky ones.

Elise walks outside with the necklace in her hands.

ELISEI got this from Jonathan...

Xavier turns around and Elise hands him the necklace. Hetakes it and looks it over.

Xavier shakes his head and hands it back to Elise.

ELISE...He said that Kalin have it tohim, before he went into hiding.

Caleb holds out his hand for the necklace and Elise gives itto him. As soon as it is in Caleb's hands the gold trianglebegins to glow and Caleb begins to shake violently. Xavierholds him and Elise struggles to get the necklace out ofCaleb's hands. Finally, he snaps out of his vision.

CALEBI saw it. I saw the birth of godand the devil. I saw a desert inwhich Satan tempted Jesus. The desertoutside Jerusalem.

Xavier and Elise look at each other.

ELISEThat's where it is.

Elise leaves Caleb's side as Xavier helps him to his feet.

INT. HOTEL ROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Mallicon lies on the bed dozing, Jonathan looks out thewindow. Elise enters the room and slams the door behind herwaking them a start.

ELISEWe found it.

Mallicon becomes immediately intrigued.

MALLICONWhere?

Elise shows Mallicon the necklace.

ELISEThere was some spell locked in thispendant. When Caleb held it, he sawthe desert in which Jesus was temptedby Satan.

MALLICONThat's where it is?

ELISEI'm sure of it.

Xavier enters the room supporting Caleb under one arm.

MALLICONThere is no time to waste. We haveto leave now.

Xavier sets Caleb down on a bed.

ELISEWhy not?

XAVIERThe boy hasn't slept. Caleb is inshock. None of us have hardly sleptsince we got here. We need to justtake a night.

MALLICONBut there's no time to lose.

XAVIERYou're right. But charging to theMiddle Eastern desert with no rest,no water, and no preparation couldhave dire consequences. Although weare not all human, we do live on ahuman world.

Mallicon concedes the conversation.

There is a silence as they all observe their response tothis request.

Xavier walks to the side of the pool and tosses his cigarettein. He looks into the water and sees a flash of a demon init. He sighs.

XAVIERThere's no point in hiding.

Asmodeus stands behind Xavier.

ASMODEUSWhere is the portal?

XAVIERYou didn't come here for the portal.

ASMODEUSYou know me so well, my son.

Xavier turns around and looks at his father. He pulls outhis butterfly knife.

XAVIERI hope you didn't come for somebonding time.

ASMODEUSThey don't even like you. You, theirone saving grace.

XAVIERSpare me your forked tongue.

Asmodues starts to circle Xavier.

Asmodues gets to the pool and walks on the water, continuingto circle Xavier.

The water in the pool begins to bubble.

Fire spreads all over the pool and Asmodues steps throughit.

The fire pulls to one central location and a woman lies nakedon the side of the pool.

ASMODEUS...Flesh...

The woman ages in a matter of seconds and is soon no morethen a decomposed corpse.

ASMODEUS...Death...

Asmodues closes his eyes and his hand begins to shake. Agreat light emits from his closed hands.

ASMODEUS...And all the powers of the universe.

Asmodues opens his hand to reveal a star. He let's Xavierstare at it and then crushes it in his hand. Xavier pausesand then approaches Asmodeus.

XAVIERYet, for all your powers you cannotsee where humans prevail over you.

ASMODEUSDon't insult me...

Xavier laughs and turns his back on Asmodues.

ASMODEUS...You are of my blood. You are ofmy spirit. You can't fight whattruly hold inside, Xavier. The trustwill always be there within you. And we will see it before long.

Xavier pauses at the door to the pool.

XAVIERI'm going to smite you with my ownhand before this war is over.

Xavier exits the pool room.

INT. AIRPORT, LUGGAGE PICK-UP -- DAY

Xavier picks up a duffel bag from the baggage pick up. Elise,Mallicon, Jonathan, and Caleb follow him as he walks throughthe airport.

As they walk through the airport Xavier notices a woman withblack hair and porcelain white skin watching them. Sheflashes her red eyes at Xavier and he gives a little smileand wink.

EXT. PARKING LOT -- MOMENTS LATER

The group walks through the parking lot.

MALLICONI don't see it.

ELISEI'm sure it's here somewhere.

The group scans over the parking lot looking for something.

JONATHANThere.

Jonathan points to a all terrain SUV. Elise walks towardthe car and opens the gas cap. Inside she finds a baggiewith a key for the car.

XAVIERPappa Radcliff comes through.

ELISETold you he would...

Xavier reaches out for the keys and Elise pulls them back.

ELISE...I don't think so.

Elise steps past him, opens the car, and gets in. Xavierpauses for a moment swallowing what just happened and thensighs and heads for the passenger side. Caleb is openingthe door for the front seat and Xavier pushes him out of theway and gets in.

XAVIERThanks.

Caleb watches Xavier shut the door and then gets in the backseat.

INT. STREETS OF JERUSALEM -- MOMENTS LATER

The SUV turns into downtown Jerusalem. The city is in fullswing by now with people going about their daily lives.

INT. SUV -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier watches out the window at the people as they pass.

XAVIERThe oil crisis is still being felt.

Elise turns off the car and takes off her seat belt.

Xavier opens his car door and steps out. He turns to thepeople in back seat.

EXT. JERUSALEM STREET CORNER -- CONTINUOUS

Aaron sees Xavier and Elise coming toward. He smiles andtakes off his sunglasses.

AARONYou must be, Elise.

Elise smiles and extends her hand.

ELISEThat's right.

AARONMy name is Aaron. I am the protectorof Illiana.

ELISEIt's a pleasure to meet you.

Aaron turns to Xavier.

AARONAnd this is?

ELISEThis is Xavier.

Aaron's face immediately changes to surprise.

Xavier cracks a half smile.

Aaron sets off to get his dirt bike as Elise and Xavier headback to the car.

Aaron pulls in front of their SUV and they begin to followhim.


Xavier looks over at Elise.

XAVIERThere's no guarantee that they knowwhere this lair is.

ELISEDo you have any better ideas?

Xavier looks back out the window.

ELISEListen, they're the best chance wehave. Illiana has been guardingthis desert since the dawn of time,she has to have a pretty good ideaof the area.

Xavier looks in the review mirror and sees a car followingthem. In the driver's seat is the same demon he saw in theairport.

XAVIERWe're being followed.

Elise looks in her review mirror and Mallicon glances overhis shoulder.

ELISEShould I pull over?

XAVIERNo. Let them follow us.

Elise bites her lip, nervously.

ELISEOkay...

EXT. SUV -- CONTINUOUS

The car continues to follow them into the desert.


Xavier pulls out two handguns and starts to load them up. Elise looks over at him.

ELISEWhat the hell are you doing?

XAVIERYou just keep driving.

Caleb follows Xavier's actions and prepares his own guns. Xavier opens the sunroof and stands up. He turns around andaims his guns at the car behind them.


Xavier opens fire on the car behind them. The bullets goricocheting off the front bumper. One goes through thewindshield and causes it to spider-glass. Xavier ducks backinto the car. Caleb pops up with a machine gun and opensfire on the car. Gunfire starts coming back toward him. Abullet hits Caleb in the shoulder and he ducks back into thecar.


Caleb falls against his seat as blood pours out of his bulletwound.

CALEBShit.

Xavier turns to look at Caleb's wounded shoulder. Malliconis already trying to patch up the wound.

XAVIERMallicon leave it for the boy. We'regonna take out that car.

Mallicon takes Jonathan's hand and puts it on Caleb's woundedarm.

MALLICONHold this wound or I'll kill youmyself.

Jonathan applies pressure to the wound as Xavier gets out ofthe car through the sun roof.

ELISEDon't do something stupid.

XAVIERSHUT UP AND DRIVE!

Mallicon opens the door and rolls out of the car.


As soon as Mallicon is out of the car two large angel wingsrip through his shirt and he takes flight. Xavier stands ontop of the SUV and leaps through the air, landing on thefollowing car.

EXT. CAR -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier lands on the car and takes a series of bullet woundto his chest. He screams in pain and dives into the driversseat causing the car to barrel roll and land on it's passengerside. A series of gun shots ring in the car.

Mallicon lands beside the car and draws his sword. Thedriver's side door flies open and the first demon goes flyingout of the door. Xavier climbs outside of the car and drawshis butterfly knife. The demon crashes into the ground andMallicon stands over him, seeing if he's still alive. Xavierleaps to the ground.

XAVIERHe's mine...

The demons slowly gets to his feet under the watchful eye ofMallicon.

XAVIER...I left you one in the car...

Xavier gets within attacking range of the demon and it swingsa punch at him that he blocks and counters with a punch ofhis own sending the demon to the ground.

XAVIER...Get up...

The demon struggles to his feet and stumbles a bit. Thedemon swings at Xavier who ducks and then trips the demon upand gives him an elbow to the chest.

XAVIER...You think you're powerful? Youthink you're strong?...

Xavier grabs the demon by the scruff of his shirt and headbutts him breaking his nose. Blood covers the face of thedemon.

XAVIER...Get up...

The demon twitches on the ground. Xavier grabs him by theshirt and pulls him to his feet.

XAVIER...GET UP!...

Xavier whips his butterfly knife around the throat of thedemon and slices it across the demons stomach. He sticks itin the eye of the demon causing it to drop to the ground andscream in pain. It tries to pull the knife out but it'sstuck too deep. Xavier grabs the demons head and yanks theknife out pulling out the demon's eye as well. The demoncovers it's face and screams in pain.

XAVIER...Did that hurt? Did that hurt?...

Xavier pushes the head back of the demon and stabs the knifeunder it's jaw. The demon wails in pain.

XAVIER...You thought you could kill me?! I'm Xavier! The half-breed! Theangel born of hell's seed! Youthought you could kill me!?

Mallicon emerges from the car, wiping his sword clean ofblood and watches Xavier taunt the tortured demon.

MALLICONXavier!

Xavier looks to Mallicon who's stern glance shows hisdispleasure with Xavier's actions. Xavier pulls out hisknife, grabs the demon by his hair, and yanks his head back.

XAVIERMake peace with you creator beforeyou're banished from this world.

The demon moans loudly and Xavier saws his throat opens. Hethrows the lifeless carcass to the ground and feels the openbullet holes in his chest. He looks at his hands that arecovered in blood. Xavier falls to his knees and tries tosteady his breathing. Mallicon rushes to his side.

MALLICONIlliana can heal you. But, we musthurry.

Xavier reaches out and puts his hand on Mallicon's shoulderto steady himself. Mallicon lifts Xavier over his shoulderand takes flight.

EXT. OASIS -- CONTINUOUS

Aaron pulls his bike to a stop near a small oasis. Elise'sSUV pulls up behind him and she gets out.

ELISEOur paladin is injured.

Aaron gets off his bike and looks at Elise.

AARONIlliana can heal him.

Elise looks around the oasis and seeing no one turns back toAaron.

ELISEWhere is she?

Elise stumbles around the oasis still looking around.

ELISEWhere is she!? ILLIANA!

The water in the oasis pool begins to bubble and this catchesElise's eye. She watches as a beautiful woman, with palewhite skin and long black hair, dressed in a sparkling bluedress emerges. This is ILLIANA. She looks from Elise toAaron.

ILLIANAWho is this Elf that stands beforeme, Aaron?

AARONIlliana, the daughter of GeorgeRadcliff.

Illiana looks Elise over slowly.

ELISEMy friend is injured. You have tohelp him.

Elise turns to the SUV and opens the door. She helps outCaleb and brings him to Illiana who looks to Aaron.

ILLIANAWho are these people that demand myaid?

Elise looks from Aaron to Illiana.

ELISEWhat? You're a servant of the Lord. You have to aid his soldiers.

ILLIANAI serve the Lord, but I do so withmy own discretion.

Elise set Caleb on the ground and kneels next to him.

ELISEPlease.

Illiana walks over to Caleb and looks down on him. She holdsa hand over him and the bullet comes shooting out of thewound and the bullet hole seals up. Illiana catches thebullet and drops it to the ground. She walks away towardthe water.

ILLIANAYou may go now.

ELISEWait!

Illiana pauses and looks back at Elise.

ELISEWe need your help.

ILLIANAAnother favor?

ELISEWe think this desert might hold asecret power. A portal between thespiritual world and the mortal world.

ILLIANAI don't know what you're talkingabout.

ELISEYou've been guarding this desert foryears, you have to know.

ILLIANAYou assume too much, dear elf, and Igrow weary of your company.

Illiana continues into her water. She is half emerged whenMallicon lands with Xavier's body.

Illiana pauses and turns back to Mallicon.

ILLIANAThe servant of Raphael...

Mallicon brings Xavier's body before Illiana.

ILLIANA...And the cross-breed.

MALLICONHe needs your healing.

ILLIANAI have already done enough servicesfor my master.

Mallicon's angel form of light begins to emit and shake theground.

MALLICONIlliana!

Illiana sticks out a hand and pulls the all the bullet'sfrom Xavier's body much as she did for Caleb. Mallicon setsXavier on his feet and steadies him.

ILLIANAI suppose you're with the elf?

MALLICONYou'd be correct.

ILLIANAI have no interest in helping you.

Illiana turns to leave again. Xavier starts recovering fromhis wounds.

XAVIERYou're leaving, witch?

ILLIANAIf I don't wish to help intruders,ridicule certainly won't help yourcause.

Xavier draws his butterfly knife.

XAVIERHow about violence?...

Aaron draws a scimitar and steps between Xavier and Illiana.

XAVIER...I just killed a demon, pawn. Youthink you can stop me?

Aaron swings his scimitar at Xavier who catches it with hishands and pulls it away from him. He whips his butterflyknife around his body, proving how many times over he couldhave killed Aaron and then pushes him out of his way. Xaviergrabs Illiana's throat as her body is almost fully emergedin water and pulls her out.

ELISEXavier!

Xavier throws Illiana on the ground and brings his knife toher throat. Aaron starts to get to his feet but theMallicon's blade comes to his throat stopping him.

MALLICONI would think twice before I madethat move.

Illiana looks into Xavier's fierce eyes.

XAVIERDoes this persuade you at all?

ILLIANAThe Lord would punish you.

XAVIERI don't serve your Lord.

Illiana sneers at Xavier and then puts her hand on his knife,slowly pushing it away.

ILLIANAThere's a dune about ten miles fromhere. I can take you there.

Xavier retracts his knife. Illiana gets to her feet.

ILLIANAIt's strange. I thought the rumorsof the hideous dark angel were oversung throughout the years...

She turns and leads them away from the oasis.

ILLIANA...But they were true in every detail.

EXT. DESERT -- LATER

Illiana leads the party across the desert. Caleb is alreadyweary and Jonathan looks worse. Jonathan stagers back andforth until Xavier catches him and helps him along.

XAVIERHumans.

Caleb pulls out his water bottle and empties the last fewdrops into his mouth. Xavier is carrying Jonathan full outon his back now. Elise looks at Xavier and wipes the sweatfrom her brow.

ELISEWe can't continue on like this.

XAVIERI know.

Xavier looks to Illiana who smiles back at him.

ILLIANADo you need to go back?

Xavier spits on the ground, shifts Jonathan on his back andcontinues onward.

EXT. DESERT -- NIGHT

Elise falls into the arms of Mallicon who is already helpingCaleb along. Xavier looks back and Mallicon exchanges aglance with him. Xavier looks up at Illiana again who iswalking ahead of them still.

XAVIERIlliana?

She stops and turns around.

ILLIANAProblems?

Xavier sets Jonathan down and draws a handgun.

XAVIERJust one...

Xavier leaps into the air and lands on Illiana forcing herto the ground.

XAVIER...Stop playing games.

ILLIANAYou wanted to go to the portal.

XAVIERAnd you're leading us nowhere.

ILLIANAThat's not true.

Xavier sticks the handgun to her throat.

XAVIERLie to me again. I dare you.

Illiana groans in pain and tries to force Xavier off of her.

ILLIANAIt's just ahead.

XAVIERWHERE!? WHERE IS IT!?

The glow of Xavier's one gold eye and one red eyes are sointense Illiana can see them flare under his sunglasses.

ILLIANALook you can see it! You can seeit!

Xavier looks up and sees a red beam of light shining fromthe sand dune ahead. He gets off Illiana and grabs her byher hair, dragging her through the sand.

XAVIERFor the sake of your own life, youbetter hope it is.

EXT. THE DUNE PORTAL -- MOMENTS LATER

Xavier throws Illiana onto the dune and points his gun ather.

XAVIERActivate it.

ILLIANAI don't know-

Xavier cocks his gun.

ILLIANAOkay, okay.

Illiana begins a chant in a strange tongue and suddenly thedune begins to swirls sand around in it. A large blast blowsthe sand away and a large swirling light is left in the placeof the sand dune. Illiana stands looking at Xavier who ismesmerized by the portal.

XAVIERIt's beautiful...

Xavier walks toward the portal. Illiana starts to disappearinto rain. Xavier points his handgun at her and she stopsimmediately.

XAVIER...Bring the rest of them here andyou can go...

Illiana concentrates, her eyes roll into the back of herhead and soon Elise, Caleb, Jonathan, and Mallicon all arestanding before the portal. Xavier turns around to Illianawho turns to water and vanishes. Mallicon looks at the portalmesmerized.

XAVIER...We found it.

Mallicon nods.

MALLICONIt's incredible.

Elise looks from her resting spot in the sand.

XAVIERWe should build a camp.

MALLICONWith what? We left most of ourequipment at the truck.

A great wind picks up and whips past the faces of the party. Elise looks up at the sky as a flash of lightning strikes inthe desert sand.

MALLICONAngels.

The wind becomes so great that Xavier and Mallicon struggleto maintain their footing. Lightning begins to strike allover the ground and the Earth starts to rumble.

ELISEANGELS!?

Xavier looks to the sky and the stars begin to zip aroundevery which way and the moon is shining so bright it seemsto be on fire.

XAVIER(Under his breath)

A lot of angels.

Zadkiel lands from the sky next to Xavier. Soon an army ofAngels surround the party. The winds dies and the lightningstops. Xavier shakes his head to get the sand out of hishair.

Xavier looks at Zadkiel and smiles a bit.

EXT. ANGEL CAMP -- LATER

The angels have set up camp around the portal, many smalltents encircle it. Mallicon, Jonathan, Elise, and Caleb sitaround a campfire eating and drinking.

Caleb drinks from a jug of water sitting next to him.

CALEBCelebrated for generations.

Mallicon slaps Caleb on the knee and they smile.

MALLICONI dare say we might get a book writtenabout us.

Mallicon smiles and takes a bite of bread a fellow angelhands him a jug of wine.

Xavier stands atop a sand dune and looks down at the portal. Zadkiel approaches Xavier and puts his hand on his shoulder.

XAVIERIs she in heaven? Her soul?...

Zadkiel looks at Xavier, who still stares at the portal.

XAVIER...She was turned mortal, so shemust have still had a soul and itmust have...

Xavier looks at Zadkiel. Zadkiel reaches his hand up andpulls Xavier's sunglasses off of his faces, revealing thatXavier's golden eye has teared up.

Xavier sniffs and looks away. He takes his sunglasses backfrom Zadkiel and puts them back on.

Elise steps out of her tent and sees Xavier walking out ofthe camp.

Elise walks a few steps toward him.

EXT. STREETS OF JERUSALEM -- DAY

Xavier walks through the market and stops at a stand gets apack of cigarettes from the vendor. He walks through thestreets and lights up. As he walks a man with a long, grayingbeard and hair wearing a long robe starts walking behindhim. This is PHOENIX. Xavier stops at a date stand andpays for a bag of dates. He continues down the street andeats a couple of them. Phoenix, draws a knife from his sleeveand gets extremely close behind Xavier. At the last momentXavier spins around and grabs Phoenix's arm and twists itbehind his back. He busts into a nearby shop.

INT. SHOP -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier throws Phoenix into the shop and the people in theshop scream in panic.

XAVIER(In Arabic)

Get out!

The people run out of the shop. Xavier draws his butterflyknife and prepares for Phoenix to get up. Phoenix's beardretracts into his face and his skin turns a slightly lesspale color. Xavier stares in wonder at the transformationand as he does Phoenix throws a knife at him. Xavier ducksout of the way and the knife flies behind him. Phoenix ison his feet now and swings a punch that connects to Xavier'sface causing blood to fly from Xavier's mouth and againstthe window.

PHOENIXCome on Xavier, I thought the son ofAsmodues would be a more worthyadversary.

Xavier swings a punch at Phoenix who ducks under the punchand knees Xavier in the stomach. Then he uppercuts Xaviercausing more blood to fly out of his mouth. He then tripsXavier up and stomps on Xavier's chest. He throws two knivesthat pin Xavier to the ground by the sleeves of his jacket. He throws another at Xavier's throat but Xavier slips hisarms out of his sleeves and catches the knife. Xavier flipsto his feet and slashes the knife at Phoenix who dodges andgrabs Xavier's arm. He twist Xavier's wrist violently causingXavier to drop the knife in pain. Phoenix reaches down topick up the knife and Xavier knees him in the face. Phoenixretracts in pain and holds his nose. Xavier grabs Phoenix'sleg and flips him on his back. Phoenix spins kicks and knocksXavier on his back. Phoenix is then on his feet and standingover Xavier. He flips out another knife and is about tostab Xavier when Xavier grabs the knife he lost and puts itinto Phoenix's foot. Phoenix screams in pain and Xavierflips to his feet and punches Phoenix in his face. He grabsPhoenix by the throat and forces him to the ground. As Xavierchokes Phoenix, Phoenix's body type begins to fly throughall different shapes, colors, and sizes.

XAVIERThe demons sent you after me, didn'tthey shifter?

PHOENIX(gagging)

Fuck you, dark angel.

Xavier head butts Phoenix.

XAVIERWas it the demons?

Phoenix struggles a bit before he finally realizes he's beat.

PHOENIXNo.

XAVIERThen, who was it?

Phoenix doesn't answer and Xavier chokes him harder.

PHOENIXGo to the angel camp and you'll getyour answers.

XAVIERWhat's happened?

Phoenix smiles and Xavier stabs his butterfly knife intoPhoenix's throat.

EXT. ANGEL CAMP -- LATER

Xavier returns to the angel camp to see that it has beentorn to shreds. He walks through the camp slowly, observingthe wreckage. The ground is covered in blood and dead angelsare strewn throughout the camp. Xavier then sees a human,robot mix lying dead amongst the carnage. He leans down andlooks over the creature. It has the head and lower torso ofa human, but it's upper torso seems to mainly be made up ofrobot like arms and a main frame chest.

XAVIERWhat are you?

Xavier looks up and sees a cloaked figure stand at the edgeof the camp. Xavier walks to the figure and sees that it'sstaring down at where the portal was. However, now all ithas become is a massive black crater.

XAVIERWhat happened?

The figure turns to look at Xavier. In the sick, distortedface beneath the cloak we see at horrors of people sufferingand dying. This is ROSIER, the demon of suffering.

ROSIERI don't know.

XAVIERYou're saying you didn't have anythingto do with it, Rosier?

ROSIERLucifer, gave me his armies. Hetold me to come and slaughter theangels. We arrived and nothing wasleft. Nothing but ash and death.

XAVIERYou weren't too disappointed, Iimagine?

ROSIERI would have rather spilled the bloodmyself. But it wasn't all bad.

Xavier looks at another half human, half robot lying dead inthe ground.

XAVIERWhat are they?

ROSIERI couldn't tell you. But, they arethe key to this madness.

XAVIERThis isn't the entirety of the angelarmy.

ROSIERNo, most of them have fled back toHeaven.

XAVIERAnd the others?

Xavier turns and walks away.

Rosier smiles. Xavier stops at the edge of the camp andkneels down next to a set of tracks.

We see Caleb, supporting Mallicon as they walk through thedesert. Elise and Jonathan follow. Mallicon looses hisfooting and falls to the ground. Caleb kneels down besidehim.

Caleb turns to Elise.

CALEB...He needs water.

Elise brings the water to Caleb who pours some into Mallicon'smouth.

Jonathan goes to Mallicon's side.

Elise weeps a tear and looks up at Xavier, who puts his handon her shoulder.

CALEBIt was massacre.

JONATHANSome sort of creature, half man andhalf machine. They came from nowhereand started laying waste to theangels.

Xavier looks to Caleb.

XAVIERThey couldn't be man made.

CALEBThey weren't divine and they weren'tdemons.

Xavier takes in everything they just told him.

XAVIERWe need answers.

(A beat)But first we have to get out of thedesert. You're only a couple milesfrom the city, follow me.

INT. JERUSALEM HOTEL -- NIGHT

Xavier sits in front of a window smoking a cigarette. Jonathan lies in bed looking at him. Finally, Jonathan getsto his feet, grabs a chair, and sits next to Xavier.

JONATHANI didn't know it'd be like this.

Xavier flicks ash off of his cigarette and continues to lookout the window.

XAVIERWhat did you expect?

JONATHANI don't know. But, it wasn't this. I mean, I knew there'd be death, Iknew there'd be carnage but...

Jonathan stops for a beat as he struggles with the horrorstill in his head. Xavier puts a hand on Jonathan's shoulder.

JONATHANThere was so much blood. So muchdeath all around me. I could smellthe burning flesh of the fallen, Icould taste death in my mouth...

XAVIERThis is a war, you've stumbled intoJonathan. Not some gloriousadventure, but a war.

Jonathan gets up and walks away. Caleb steps next to Xavier.

Xavier is packing supplies into a cab. Elise comes out ofthe hotel, a cup of coffee in her hands.

Elise looks out the window at the passing desert. Xaviersits down in the seat next to her.

Xavier looks down into the eyes of Mallicon and they aren'tgold anymore. They are a dark brown.

EXT. TURKEY COUNTRYSIDE -- NIGHT

A cab pulls up to a large Cathedral. Xavier, Jonathan, Caleb,and Elise all get out. Xavier walks around to the back ofthe cathedral and there we see a small cottage.

EXT. COTTAGE -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier pounds on the cottage front door.

Xavier pounds on the door again.

The door opens and a balding, elderly man dressed in theblack attire of the clergy opens the door. This is FATHERFRANCES.

Xavier starts packing things together. Something catcheshis eye and he picks up a painting of himself as a child. He runs his hands over the painting slowly and then snaps itin half. Zadkiel appears behind him.

ZADKIELThat's fairly noble of you.

Zadkiel looks out of the window into the night.

ZADKIELThe demons are already on their wayhere.

Zadkiel looks at Xavier.

Xavier stops and points a finger at Zadkiel.

Xavier picks up the bag he's been packing and slams it againstthe wall.

Zadkiel takes Xavier's face in his hands.

Xavier looks into Zadkiel's eye and tear rolls down his cheek.

The room shakes and Zadkiel shines like a bright light. Hedraws his sword and Xavier runs out of the room in fear.

INT. FRANCES' BEDROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Frances sits on his bed reading. He hears the scratching onthe walls outside and looks out the window. He shuts thebook and closes his eyes.

Things become deadly silent and then demons burst throughthe room and cover his body.

INT. FRANCES' LIVING ROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier busts into the room.

XAVIERWe have to go...

They all look at him in shock.

XAVIER...NOW!

They get to their feet and run out of the room.

INT. GUESTROOM -- MOMENTS LATER

Demons burst through the window and door. Zadkiel slaughtersthem quickly with his sword, gracefully slicing through theirbodies and cutting down more as they come. A staff grows inhis empty hand and from it emits a light that Zadkiel needsto only shine on a demon to cause it to dissolve in ash. But, there are too many demons and they mass over Zadkiel. One takes away his staff and breaks it in half. They beginto bite Zadkiel and the angel's blood is spilt all over theroom.

EXT. COTTAGE -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier and the others escape the house. Xavier looks backover his shoulder and sees the cottage is now in flames. Hepauses and takes off his sunglasses to watch his childhoodburn. Elise sees Xavier stop.

ELISEXavier!...

Xavier turns to look at her.

ELISE...We can't stop.

Xavier puts his sunglasses back on slowly and begins to runaway.

INT. COTTAGE -- CONTINUOUS

The cottage burns now and the demons are ripping aparteverything inside of it. They burn crosses and breakfurniture. A demon with the head of a dragon enters intothe room. This is Olivier, the demon of the merciless. Ademon approaches him and goes to one knee.

DEMONThey have escaped, my lord Olivier.

Olivier looks around slowly.

OLIVIERChase them through the woods. Burnthe whole forest down if you haveto.

EXT. FOREST -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier, Elise, Caleb, and Jonathan are breathless but forcethemselves to continue to run. Jonathan suddenly falls tothe ground and begins to convulse. Xavier picks him upwithout even faulting.

ELISEWhat's happening to him!?

XAVIERIt's begun.

They continue to run and we see they are being watched bydark figures in the woods. They reach a clearing and Elisethen falls and begins to convulse as well.

XAVIERNo!...

Caleb stops to pick her up, but falls immediately after shedoes. Xavier hears the roar of jet engines and a largeHovercraft flies over head. The hatch opens and Cyborgsleap from the ship into the woods.

XAVIERNo...

Xavier turns and can hear the roar of the demons coming towardhim. He drops Jonathan to the ground and draws his butterflyknife. He turns around and around waiting for an enemy toappear. A cyborg fires a round of shots as he jumps intothe clearing. Xavier dodges the shots and leaps into theair. He lands on the cyborg and stabs his knife into it'schest, killing it. He in the same motion he pulls out ahandgun and fires a round of shots into a demon's head thatjust entered the clearing. He rolls to his feet and stabsanother cyborg that just entered the clearing in the stomach,reloading with the other hand as he does. He points a handgun over the shoulder of the cyborg and shoots another fullof bullets. He turns around using the stabbed cyborg as ashield and shoots another cyborg who blasts a hole in Xavier'sshield. Xavier drops the stabbed cyborg and turns aroundand slices open the throat of a demon that was approachinghim from behind. He grabs a gun from a dead cyborg and shootsanother demon. He leaps across the clearing and lands ontwo cyborgs carrying off Elise. He stabs them both in lessthen a second killing them. He turns and fires three bulletsinto the head of another demon taking Caleb. The demons andthe cyborgs are warring all through the forest now,distracting each other.

Olivier enters the clearing and draws a large broad sword.

OLIVIERWe haven't come for you, Xavier...

Xavier spits at Olivier.

OLIVIER...Asmodeus will be saddened by yourdeath, when he hears. You sure youdon't want to walk away?

XAVIERShut up, so I can kill you.

Olivier leaps into the moonlight and brings his broadsworddown on Xavier who rolls out of the way and slashes hisbutterfly knife against Olivier's back. He stabs it inOlivier's shoulder. Olivier screams in pain and brings hisbroad sword around hitting Xavier with the handle. Xavieris knocked to the ground and rolls out of the way beforeOlivier can stab him. He flips to his feet and barrel flipsover Olivier slashing at him. Xavier thrusts his butterflyknife at Olivier who counters by slicing Xavier's hand withhis broad sword. Xavier screams in pain and then is trippedup by Olivier. Olivier steps on Xavier's chest and thrustshis sword down. Xavier at the last moment lifts Olivier offof him and sends him to the ground. He rolls around andgrabs two of the guns that the cyborgs were using. He shootsa series of bullets into the surrounding demons that weredragging away his friends. The bullets dissolve the demonsto ash. Xavier picks up his butterfly knife and leaps ontothe back of Olivier he holds the knife to Olivier's neck butOlivier grabs Xavier's hand to prevent him from deliveringthe killing blow. Suddenly, little dark monkey lookingfigures emerge from the forest and grab Caleb, Elise, andJonathan. Xavier leaps off of Olivier.

XAVIERNO!

Xavier runs toward the figures pulling away his friends butthey are gone in an instant. Olivier stands behind Xavierand brings his sword down for the killing blow. Xavier,suddenly goes limp and drops to the ground. Olivier looksaround to see what caused this and in the darkness sees toblue eyes staring at him. These eyes belong to the witch,Esmerelda.

OLIVIERThe witch of the forest.

ESMERELDAThe creatures belong to me, Olivier. You'll have to explain the truce ofthe forest to you master.

OLIVIERLet's renegotiate the truce,Esmerelda.

Olivier walks toward Esmerelda and draws his sword. Suddenlyhe is covered in a blue light and unable to move.

ESMERELDAI don't think so, Olivier. I ratherlike the cross breed and so he'llremain with me. And his friends,I'll take as a welcome gift fromhim. You may take your filth andleave my forest...

The Earth quakes.

ESMERELDA...NOW!

Olivier is dropped to his knees. He looks into the darkness,but Esmerelda is gone. He gets to his feet and gives a mightycall that shakes the forest. In an instant all the demonshave vanished.

INT. ESMERELDA'S HUT -- MORNING

A tea pot WHISTLES and Xavier awakes in a small hut. Hesleeps on a bed of leaves that naturally is held above theground by the roots of tree trunk. He sits up and looksaround. Esmerelda is a little woman that comes up to Xavier'sknees, with blue hair, and blue eyes. She picks the teakettle off of a little stove and pours two little woodencups of tea. She walks over to Xavier and hands him one ofthe two cups.

XAVIEREsmerelda.

ESMERELDAI wondered when I would see you again,Xavier.

XAVIERI've been busy.

ESMERELDAIn some large city I assume.

XAVIERNew York.

Esmerelda pretends to gag.

ESMERELDACities, disgusting places.

Xavier comes to realization and turns to Esmerelda who looksat him, upset.

ESMERELDAShe's fine, she's stop convulsing. So has the boy.

Esmerelda shakes her head.

Xavier leans against the wall and drops to the ground.

XAVIER...They got Caleb.

ESMERELDAI think the machines got him. Mychildren rescued the other two.

XAVIERI guess I should be grateful?

Esmerelda draws close to Xavier. Her elemental self beginsto cover his body.

Esmerelda pulls away and retreats to her stove.

EXT. FOREST -- MOMENTS LATER

Xavier and Esmerelda stand before two large pools. Onecontains Elise who is unconscious and the other has Jonathanwho is also unconscious.

XAVIERYou're stabilizing them.

ESMERELDAI don't want anymore of the Isithid.

XAVIERI won't have them remain unconsciousin your pool until the second coming.

ESMERELDAYou plan to fight for their release?

XAVIEREsmerelda?

Esmerelda sighs and snaps her fingers causing the pools todrain.

ESMERELDASo it begins...

Jonathan quivers and begins to scream in his sleep. Hisbody tremors over and over and suddenly a bluish greensubstance begins to shoot out of his body. It seems like agas mixed with light and it begins to caccoon around him. Elise begins to suffer the same symptoms and a yellow lightemits from her mouth. Soon both their bodies are covered inthe light. The light continues to swirl around them and isso thick that you can't see their human form. Xavier kneelsdown next to them and touches the light around them. Itshocks him and he retracts his hand.

ESMERELDA...Careful, Xavier. Would you wantsomeone touching your soul? Especially, someone like yourself?...

Xavier looks at Esmerelda with contempt in his eyes. Sheshrugs back at him. Xavier stands up and walks away. Hesits down next to a tree and rests his head against it.

ESMERELDA...So where do you go from here?

XAVIERI go after, Caleb. I have to savehim from the cyborgs.

ESMERELDAAre you sure he's going to want tobe saved?

Xavier looks over at the two who have the lights swirls aroundthem.

XAVIERI have to find out then.

ESMERELDAThey have an encampment set up tothe south of here. Just outside thewoods. You might find him there...

Xavier gets to his feet and starts to walk away.

ESMERELDA...Beware that place, Xavier. It'sa world twisted with the mind ofmetal and hell.

Xavier continues on his way.

EXT. CYBORG CAMP -- CONTINUOUS

The camp is a mine of metal and oil. The whole thing isconstructed like a maze of computers and machines. Xavierstands at the edge of the forest over looking the camp. Hesteps out of the forest and starts heading down to the camp. A cyborg flies over him with a jet pack.

CYBORG #1Command, intruder spotted. Permissionto engage?

COMMAND(Over radio)

I.D. on the intruder?

CYBORG #1It appears to be the cross breedthat was with the prisoner.

There is pause and the cyborg brings Xavier in his sites.

COMMAND(Over radio)

Permission denied, scout. Standdown and let the tango enter.

INT. CYBORG CAMP -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier walks through the cyborg camp. They notice him butpay him no heed as he walks through. He finally grabs oneby the arm and brings him close. In an instant every cyborgaround him has a gun out and is pointing it a Xavier.

XAVIERI need to speak to your leader?

The cyborg points toward a central hub. A dome shapedbuilding that looks like all the others around it, simplybigger. Xavier drops the cyborg and heads toward thebuilding.

INT. CENTRAL HUB -- CONTINUOUS

Xavier enters the building and the doors slide shut behindhim. He draws his gun and steps into a big Colosseum likeroom. A booming voice of General Ryan McGuire sound overthe room.

GENERAL MCGUIRE (O.S.)Put the gun away, Xavier.

XAVIERYou know me?

A large cyborg steps into the room, his face is half humanand half machine. His arms are human is machine fingers onboth of them. Portions of his chest are ripped away andreplaced by machine. This is GENERAL MCGUIRE.

GENERAL MCGUIREHow could I not? Your deeds arelegendary?

XAVIEROnly to those who know of the war.

Xavier fires the gun but McGuire knocks it away before thebullet can hit him. McGuire's left hand forms into a butcherblade and he is about to stab Xavier with it when he realizesXavier already is behind him and has his butterfly knife tohis throat.

Xavier sits against a tree smoking a cigarette. The yellowlight of Elise approaches him.

XAVIERI'm sorry I could stop it.

ELISEHis body isn't handling thetransformation as well. Esmereldais looking after him...

EXT. CLIFF -- EVENING

Xavier stands on the edge of a cliff as the last beams ofthe sun begin to disappear. Below the lights and buzz ofanother human city are on and aglow. Xavier lights up acigarette and looks toward the future.

ZADKIEL (V.O.)Every time I look in your face. Every time I see your eyes. I amreminded of the sacrifice your mothermade, and I made to bring you intothe world. And deep inside I feel asense of pride, Xavier. For despitethe evil that lives in you, thereresides a great good that has wonout for the majority of your life. For you are, a great power Xavier. And you have used that power forgood.

Night has set and Xavier takes one last drag of his cigarettebefore tossing it over the edge of the cliff.

XAVIER (V.O.)A war is coming. And I do need tofind my place. The mighty lords ofdemons and angels have begun to dieand I can see the beginnings of anew world starting to form. Maybe aworld that has need for me, maybe aworld that doesn't...

Xavier takes off his sunglasses and tucks them in his pocket.

XAVIER (V.O.)...But need me or not that worldwill remember the wrath I brought onthis one forever.
